AR15 on crack style modern 'AR10s' are ok but have all the shortcomings of the AR15 without the superb aftermarket.

THIS WAS THE BEST OPTION AT THE TIME!
I'm wondering how one might make the Enola Gaye EG18X smoke grenades a little more durable and weather proof. Maybe an epoxy dip coating? Can anyone recommend anything?
Also level IV multi curve ceramics at 7lbs per plate, or level III+, M193, M855, M80, and mild steel core 7.62x39 rated multi curve ceramic/dyneema hybrid at 4lbs per plate?
Also what other carriers are out there like the Velocity Systems LWPC?
Front swift clips, side molle, and front velcro are a must. Bonus for rear molle, lightweight, and drag handle.
Also SKD tactical extended their sale for another day. Get the 20% while you can, even though they're bootlickers.
Time to bully fat anon about his AR500 plate purchase for $300 a set

/thg/ is a thread for discussion about tanks, tracked armor and other armored vehicles. Please keep things civil and cite sources.
After Japanese defeat at the hand of the Red Army at Khalkhyn Gol in 1939 Japanese leadership came to the realization that they required an armored force. The initial ambitiousness reaction was to attempt to create an armored army, this was quickly realized to be impossible with the available resources and dropped in favor of independent tank brigades and a limited number of armored divisions.
The IJA viewed the tank as a purely offensive weapon. There was no mention of defensive action whatsoever in doctrinal manuals. The only options given were to attack or counter attack. Such attacks were to consist of the entire armored force of the unit to attack in three waves, the first wave destroying AT weapons to lessen armored losses, the second wave neutralize automatic weapons to open up the way for the infantry and the third wave as an exploitation force sent only at the orders of the division or brigade commander. Due to the low quality of Japanese tank armament and high proportion of light tanks doctrine stated that Japanese tanks were to avoid contact with enemy armored formations and depend on artillery and air assents to neutralize Allied armor.
The doctrine was a complete failure. The number to massed armor attacks as called for in doctrine never happened. Instead Japanese armor was distributed in penny packets in support of the infantry and operated defensibly. American intelligence noted that Japaneses tank commanders often sited themselves poorly for such positions, as they were completely untrained in the defensive. Despite the lofty expectations of IJA commanders the tank was never used to its potential by the Japanese.
Tank news as per the copied format:
- Saudi Arabia is acquiring 153 M1A2S Abrams from the US as part of a larger arms deal, 20 of these are to replace lost hulls. Value is roughly $1.5 billion.
- Saudi Arabia is also purchasing a 20 M88A1/A2 Hercules Armored Recovery Vehicles as part of the same deal.
- Egypt is reportedly seeking to buy up to 400 T-90MS from Russia.
- New Russian deliveries of T-62M and BMP-2 to Syria.
- The US Army announced that the Mobile Protected Firepower program will be looking at off-the-shelf options rather then a new development.
- India is suing a Polish company over technology transfer concerns as part of a $275 million contract for 204 Armored Recovery Vehicles.

Lazy ass
Well /k/, I had 3 people try to break into my house today. They surrounded the house checking doors and windows but I was in my room on the phone with dispatch with my pistol out. Whats the closest you have came to using your CCW?
>>34486053
>on the phone with dispatch
Why didn't you just call 911?
>inb4 it's the same thing
No, it's really not.
>>34486081
It is the same thing. But it really makes no difference other than the non-emergent line isnt recorded or trackable.
>>34486053
So, what happened? Did you wave your gun around until they left? Did you shoot them? Did the police save the day? Details, anon!
>>34486081
He probably just said "dispatch" without knowing the exact meaning of the terminology. Calm your tits.
What is the best recoil system for a gun that fires 7.62?
>>34485446
>Let child soldier handle the gun for you
There you go Mr. Limpwrists
>>34485458
I'm just new ive only fired .22lr and a bit of 5.62
>>34485477
>I only shoot 22 and 5.62
What?
In all seriousness, the round doesn't recoil very much. A well cared for AK seems to recoil just a tiny bit more than an ar15 chambered in 7.62x39, but the AK will always be more reliable than ar ar15 in 7.62. SKS rifles can be really smooth too. It really doesn't matter much.
Finally got my CPL and my EDC of choice (pic related). Who makes the best holsters. I already have a sturdy belt.
I was thinking of going to K Rounds since they are a local company, but I keep hearing about Galvo and Aliengear.
Planning to carry on my lower back or kidney carry.
I have an overwatch holster I really like. Kydex and single clip. Very easy to get on and it stays on fine. It would be even better with a smaller gun though (single clip)
>>34484818
KSG armory JM Custom Kydex Comp-Tac and a bazzilions others
>>34484818
I went with Alien Gear. Fits my P07 perfectly and it's comfortable to carry. The only uncomfortable part is the grip in my back or side.
do british cops see a lot of action?
also which countries cops see the most action?
All cops see lots of action. That action just depends where you are. Rich neighborhoods get a lot of calls, just for different reasons.
Most action is probably like Philippines or South Africa or some shithole like that, though.
>>34483740
>brits/action
basically boom! allhauhakabar then boom! again! then STOP IN THE NAME OF THE QUEEN OR ELSE I WILL SAY STOP AGAIN AND GET DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO YOU WITHOUT WEAPONS!
>most action
probably america or south africa
>>34483757
any stories?
Bought one of the nepalese gahendra rifles that IMA sells and the screw that holds the cocking lever in seems to have been peened over for whatever reason. Anyone have any ideas for removing it other than drilling it out?
Try to cut a screw slot into it, or but one of those screw pullers
>>34483593
Dremel off peened part.
>>34483952
The screw goes all the way through the action and it seems to be peened on both sides for some reason.
>>34483623
I'll have to buy a screw extractor tomorrow and try that, I don't think I can cut a slot into it without damaging the receiver.
Just picked up a 1967 Ishapore 2a1 all matching for $325.
That's a good price, anon. I sold mine for $450 a month or so ago.
Picked this up the other day, it's pretty nice aside from the grips not holding together on the screw. Is there a good way to fix that outside of loctite or something?
>>34483461
What's your opinion on shooting 308 out of it
Don't you guys really love to shoot in the wild Arizonian dessert, at the late afternoons? It works better than meditation for me
>>34482970
Who the hell dosen't?
>>34482970
Can imagine that feeling, wish i lived in Arizona desu. Is the pic related to the thread somehow btw?
>>34482970
i would love to do that. too bad i live in a medium to large east coast city where the only options for shooting are expensive indoor ranges with coffee shops for $50 an hour.
http://www.military.com/daily-news/2016/11/18/marine-corps-experimenting-new-service-rifle.html
Lol the marines seemed to have just made requested an M27 as an excuse to "get a new rifle" without putting it as such for budget reasons. The budget likely wouldn't allow widespread replacemjent of service rifles so they took the M416 they wanted and shoehorned it into a SAW role. Never made sense anyway, it still has only 30 round magazines and doesn't come close to replacing a saw. And for firing on the move, full auto in open bolt is even less accurate.
Now spending has likely been allowed more, maybe changing attitudes from new administration? Now they are just outright saying they want it to be a new general service rifle.
It'd be nice for marine infantry to get the new hot gear for once. They usually use older stuff, they just ditched M16's recently, clearly they missed the longer barrels lol.
>>34482472
but it's not open bolt
HK has seen to that
>>34482472
Little brother is a Marine, he has told me that the only reason they want these over the SAW is the weight reduction and lower malfunction rate. Not sure if true but both of those reasons seem relevant if it is.
I believe the gun fires semi auto in closed bolt, full auto in open bolt. The full auto is apparently that way too cool better.
Uhh should I buy this?
>>34482465
no.

They're going for $800-$3000 on GB. This one's $615 with tax. It's a Seattle-made gun if that matters. Anyone know anything about them?
What can I do against feeling paranoid when shooting on my land?
xanax. it's what's for dinner.
Grow some balls. Also helps to know your backstop and actually own enough land to be safe
