I think we can all agree that 7.62x39 is the /k/utest caliber.
>>34487363
Even though most of my rifles are 7.62x39 that title belongs to 5.56
It's just so cute and little.
Bottleneck pistol calibers are cutest. They're trying to be like their big bros.

/nogunz/ here with a few questions.
Furniture, firing pins, and other parts are typically cross-compatible between brands, correct?
Are any parts cross-compatible between stamped and milled? I understand furniture is not, but what about firing pins, magazines, and other parts?
What is the difference between Arsenal SLR series (SLR-101, SLR-107) and Arsenal SAM series (SA M-7 and SAM7R)? Is one better than the other? What is the best (most reliable and most durable) Arsenal AK?

>Furniture, firing pins, and other parts are typically cross-compatible between brands, correct?
Typically, yes. Beware of Veprs.

Yes to all but furniture.

SLR's are Bulgarian. SAM's are Russian. They're about the same quality wise.
Everything about this is fucked up pls delet
My buddy just joined the air force. He's 30 years old and says he's going to do some sort of military intelligence stuff. He has his bachelors degree but I'm not sure if he's going to be an officer or not.
What's his military life going to be like? In b4 chair force.
>>34487315
Fake and gay
Sage
30's a bit old to enlist, just about right to be an officer though. Plus it's the AF, so long as he's not a complete window-licker he should be fine.
>>34487334
Window licker? Air force enlistment standards are highest out of all the branches.
ITT: General discussion of "tactical"/edc flashlights.
What flashlights do other /k/ommandos edc? Anyone here use weapons lights? Budget vs high end lights. Etc.
EDC light?
MecArmy SGN3.
>USB rechargeable
>160 lumens is a fuckton for its size
>fits on your keychain without dragging it down
>also has a red LED
>ALSO has a UV LED???
>costs like 30 or 40 dollarydoos
Really love this little thing. Use it every day.
Has a weird tendency to turn on all the LEDs at once if you bump it a certain way though.
Carried the LD-22 for years, kept a spare in my car as well. Lost my primary LD-22 somewhere while traveling last week. Took it as an excuse to upgrade to the FD-30.
Fenix makes excellent, reliable lights that can handle all sorts of rough handling and shit conditions. Don't know about mounting them on a rifle or anything though, I'm a bit of a surefire purist there.
Here's my current crop of lights, from left to right:
>Streamlight Sidewinder compact headlamp. runs on one cr123, AA or AAA battery.
>Lazerbrite military tactical lighting kit. Basically a battery-powered chemlight replacement, has two separate light units(in this case blue and green colored) and a bunch of different tubes and caps that all thread together. Good tent light.
>Gerber Recon. A low-output Single AA LED flashlight with a rotating bezel containing several colored filters. Great for map reading and the like.
>Streamlight Polytac 90. High-output angle-head tactical light. This is my EDC light.
>Maratac Tactical Landing Light. Uses one D cell battery, has about a 500 hour runtime of the 40 lumen low setting. Makes an excellent compact lantern.
How are you /k/, a moment of your time if I may? I was wondering what kind of hydration bladder do you own? Is there a brand that you recommend for your chest rig(s) or in general?
>>34486952
X-tra LG ziploc bag with about 2 feet of surgical tubing
>>34486952
if you are going to use a bladder, learn how to maintain it. don't store it full of water, and if you are going to leave it unused for a while, drain it and open it up so it dries out inside. if you fail to care for it, expect to find yourself puking and shitting violently.

After the recent bill repealing some dumb knife laws in Texas, I've heard several times people and YT pundits refer to the Bowie Knife as a Texan invention. Jim Bowie carried his knife at the Alamo, but James Black made the first designs in ARKANSAS.
The Bowie Knife is ARKANSAN.
I will (knife) fight you over this. Clearly Texas has a a Knife history and culture almost as rich as ours, but the Bowie Knife and the Arkansas Toothpick are inventions of fiery Arkansan pride
Bowie is a Kentuckian so clearly we should get the credit. I mean, let's be honest here, Kentucky has a shit load of badass folk. We've got Jim Bowie, Daniel Boone, Kit Carson, Husband Kimmel, Franklin Sousley, and more. What do y'all bring to the table?
>>34486864
>Made by a man from new jersey in arkansas for a man from kentucky who grew up in louisiana and died in texas
Truly an american invention... if you're willing to consider a large knive with a clip point an "invention".

Its time for a professional.
I tabble with some real gunsmithing from time to time but i wouldnt want to touch that because you can only take away and with wood that old a small mistake could be big.
I would take either to a wood worker or a gunsmith who specializes in gun stocks.

Blame nostalgia and gun writers. Pre-64 Winchester anything isn't particularly impressive though.
>>34485927
I bought a 1957 Model 94 last August for $350 bucks.
I've got a date coming up tomorrow. She knows I'm a gun owner and was curious so I'm taking her to our local range. Any advice on how to seal the deal during our range time? How do I get this girls panties off? I've always heard that foreplay starts over dinner, not in the sack. Is it the same way at the range?
>>34485832
Before you start, teach her the golden safety rules (ACTS and PROVE). That way she can feel less nervous about it and get comfortable with it.
Start her with a .22 pistol or rifle. Make sure she has good ear pro. If you haven't, you should suggest that she not wear something too low cut, since brass can land there (do not want)...
Loading the first magazine is a good idea. If the next gun recoils significantly more, do the same again. There have been entirely too many people who accidentally fire off two rounds because of the recoil on .500 S&W's and shit.
>>34485832
Go upstairs and ask your mom what your dad did that won her over. Or ask her when she drops you off at the range.

Which one /k/? I'm a poorfag but I want a cool slavshit pistol to take innadesert camping with my yugo SKS. This would be my first online purchase, so I'm wondering if you guys have any advice regarding
1)the website I'm considering buying from
2)if I'm making a huge mistake with a tokarev
3)general tokarev opinion and experiences you guys have had with them
>>34485679
I know you had to wait a while, but let's just see if you're still here.
I have a TTC (the Romanian one)
The finishes are FUCKING. AWFUL.
The bore LOOKS like a sewer pipe, but you can easily hit shit off hand at 50> yards with it, and it just gets better with surplus ammo.
The sights are meh, and the ergos take some getting used to but they're actually quite nice.
The triggers though.
You thought 1911s had good ones?
You thought your custom AR had a nice one?
Holy fuck this system needs brought back.
It's like snapping a Pringle every time you pull that trigger.
So. It's a good gun that has a meh finish and looks like it was filed from a block of steel by hand, but shoots like a laser, has okay ergonomics, and a trigger the 1911 wishes it had.
Bumping for interest.
Which is better in terms of reliability, frame or slide safety?
>>34486990
They're all the fucking same.
It's eastern bloc man.
Some have fewer tool marks (I'm looking at you, Radom, you glorious bastards) and some are in different calibers (Zastava, thank you) and some have different grips and are hard to find (Hungary, we all just want those Tokagypt grips; gib grips plox) and they all shoots bullets when given a bullet to shoot. Some are more accurate than others because they weren't used as much, but this is more of a gun by gun basis and not a country of origin thing.
What would Jesus carry?
