I don't really shoot or understand rifles. Is this why HK opened a plant in the states? Does the M27 work with these intermediate calibers that outrange Russian guns? Long story short, is HK stock about to go through the roof as well as nitrocellulose and brass production?
Rigging up a piston system in an AR-15 is nothing but pure retardation. Someone should just simply make a new AR-18 derivative produced in america and so on. None of that jewery shit with FN.
>sighs
Should've stuck with the A2

Remember, every single member of the squad has to shoot farther than current 7.62x51.
Does anyone use .357 Sig?
Seems like nobody shoots it or talks about it. I heard something about secret service guys using it, but other than that I can't think of a single agency or military that uses it. Why didn't it catch on?
I have a P250 compact in .357SIG and I love it. I got the 2SUM kit with two 9mm kits for the P250 and got an expansion to a .375SIG compact. Shoots smooth and flat and accurately, though commercial ammunition is expensive as fuck.
I reload my own though so it's not as expensive. It's like a not retarded .40S&W

I have a Glock model 35 I have converted to 9mm. I saw KKM has .357 Sig barrels for it, which I thought about purchasing. I just wonder if the frame would hold up ok with the pressures of .357 Sig

Get a 9x25 Dillon.
In gander mtn, is this a good price for a 92fs?
>>34037398
Not really outstanding. It's pretty easy to find them for under 500.
>>34037457
Thanks, I'll wait on it then

Gander Mountain: where a used glock is $100 less than a new one.
I hate that place. I only got a glock 19c from them because the forgot to take the sale price off after it expired and they were pissed.
I couldnt find anything on it, but are .45 super and .45 acp interchangeable? If I took an m45 could I load and fire .45 super from it?
>>34037249
In some models of gun, yes, but for a 1911 you need a stiffer spring and a recoil buffer.
Sorry for the mis-trip.
>>34037266
Pretty much this. But depending on what brand of 1911, you might need to do more. If you have one of the el cheapo made in the Philippines 1911s, best to consult a gunsmith to make sure your pistol won't grenade.
>>34037266
Not for just any 1911, it'd have to be very well built
there are only a few guns that will readily do .45 Super without beating themselves apart, and 99.99% of 1911's will eventually fail (maybe catastrophically) if you convert them to .45 Super

I'm moving to Texas in under a month and while I know that's one of the most lax places in america as far as guns go, I'd just like to check in here and see if there's anything I should know.
Do any of you know if its legal to open carry a LONG RIFLE without any kind of permits? And I'm aware that on a federal level you have to be 21 to purchase a gun, but do you also have to be 21 to open carry because my 21st is still a few months out.
Reason I'm asking is because I prefer doing my target practice somewhere quiet rather than at ranges.
You can buy long guns at 18 fagget
>>34037183
Right, sorry, that's handguns. I'm retarded.
>>34037165
Texas is fucking schizo when it comes to guns, and weapons in general. You can OC a rifle, but Johnny law is going to give you shit.

why does the US military issue only FMJ ammo for pistols? Would hollowpoint or other ammo types be better for what we are doing?

Hey /k/. I suspect one or more of my real-life acquaintances/friends may be fellow /k/ommandos. How should (or should I even) ask them if they are what I suspect?
Also, real life /k/ommando stories thread, encounters, innawoods, meetups, STALKER etc.
>>34037031
Ask them if they think traps are gay
The easiest way would be tell them about something funny or that you learned from 4chan and name drop it fell either recognize it and tell about being on /k/ or not
I play Lego legends and we have a small /k/ club and we occasionally run into a random kommando that we pick up in normal games
wow just wow, gun shows... not even once.

What is the current equipment of a US soldier if we were to invade a new country?
What would be the most sci fi shit we'd see in that war or conflict?
exoskeletons, droids, laser AA cannons, computer viruses.

I'm thinking of making a hunting/horror FPS set in Newfoundland.
I need some advice on what types of weapons are needed to properly hunt these spooks.
The boss ideas I have so far are a Giant Sea Turtle, a Nennorluk (basically an aquatic lion the size of an iceberg), a Giant Squid, Cressie, Bigfoot, a Globster, a UFO, a Will O' The Wisp, and the Cape Sable Serpent.
Will post more details if anyone's interested.
Also, spook general thread, I guess.
Great, now I want a survival game where you have to spend x nights in the woods and it randomly selects which cryptids might spawn Cabin in the Woods style.
So you never know exactly what to pack.

.50 BMG
It's the only way to be sure.
>>34036687
Nugget and Obrez sidearm, seriously. Imagine hunting them at night, either your bullet manages to hit it or you blind everyone in the forest and give the creature tinnitus.
Anon, I just bought a Glock 26. Will you teach me how to shoot it properly?

Honestly at this point any 360 is a fair target.

Is a 10/22 a good choice for a 22 rifle? I'm not really that into 22 since the ranges I go to are all indoors and not really set up for "plinking". But I feel like it would be a cost effective way to improve marksmanship.
What do you guy think?
I would replace the wood stock with polymer because I think the laminate looks cheap would also grab some bx-25s
>>34036461
This is a stupid question. The Ruger 10/22 is the golden standard for semi-automatic .22 LR rifles.

Recently I went to a small reenactment, where there was a presentation of musket shooting. I noticed how the loud bang of the shot from a single musket penetrates the hearing.
My question is how soldiers of these times managed to keep their hearing in good condition during big battles where tousands of muskets and guns could be used at the same time?
Sorry, if that's a stupid question, I'm a bit of a newfag in terms of old warfare
my guess is that they didn't
Someone more familiar with these things will correct me but my guess is that they didn't, hearing loss must've been very common. A single soldier didn't receive commands anyway, I think a platoon was the smallest command unit in the Napoleonic Wars? Am I completely wrong?
>>34036361
Only thing I could imagine is stuffing cotton or candle wax in their ears but I've never actually read up any info about hearing protection from that era.
