Was he a liberal?

All POTUS so far have been some flavour of liberal, it follows from the Constitution being written by Whigs.
>>1334727
>against integration
>liberal
He just had the good sense to realize that Keynes was right. He wasn't actually liberal.
>>1335238
Liberals of today are against integration. Not exactly a game changer.

Whether there meme is the truth, is the standard of the survive meme not too. On the other hand, the fact that or there add up, make sense can be one of the criteria that meme to survive. However, it is a fact and truth that makes sense is, do not necessarily correspond.
Freud's great legacy is indisputable, however I wonder if any of his ideas actually still hold merit in 2016?
People seem to love to still quote Freud in all sorts of context. Sex sells of course, and I'm sure people are intrigued by the naughty and juicy bits of Freudianism. But is trying to pass his ideas as still valid today, after years of development in the field of psychology, plainly ignorant or misleading?
Would an educated psychiatrist really quote Freud as much as, say, pop culture does?
>>1334499
Freud was a genius and his theory on unconscious was an eye opener to us. We are all aware of our sexual behaviour, our childhood experiences some of which make us what we are without being aware what happened. Life has moved on since then. The world has become more and more self cantered , families have less contact with each other and the curse of loneliness and depression has increased. In fact more than 20% people suffer with 'mental' problems. Our physical health, on the other hand has improved and we live longer now compared to 100 years ago. We must learn more about our mind and why happiness is eluding majority of us. Freud started a movement, we must research further.

>however I wonder if any of his ideas actually still hold merit in 2016?
All of them
>Would an educated psychiatrist really quote Freud as much as, say, pop culture does?
No , their aproach is different.
>Sex sells of course
I don't know a single psychoanalist that makes big money, but you know what sells? pills. Is a huge bussines, there are pills for every "mental problem."

Freud is a con artist.
He couldn't even apply his own theory of fixation to his cigar chewing habit
Which historical characters is this guy based on or similar to?
I'm looking to read about some Machiavellian figures from history.

Machiavelli wasn't Machiavellian
Nice try
It might be early history, but what is /his/ opinion on the loss of proto-sapien species? Why did they die? Was it on some level an organized tribal genocide by the superior homo-sapiens? Was it disease/poor conditions of living/poor decision making and organizational skills in creating raids against humans? Did they simply breed out?
Protohumans general I guess if anyone wants one.

So when the Austro-Hungarian Empire was dissolved, how come Hungary didn't seat a King?
Instead they installed Miklos Horthy, an ex-Habsburg Admiral, and called it a day.
>>1334139
But he was the king of my heart
>>1334139
Hungarian here:
Hungary after WW1 was in shock because of the Treaty of Trianon, staying as a Kingdom had the symbolic meaning of never giving up the lost land, and believing in the Kingdom of King Saint Stephen.
After Hungary got back most of the ethnic hungarian lost territories in WW2 there were plans about making even Horthy a king.
>>1334204
How good would you say Horthy was as a regent?
How can you tell if a history course is going to be of that horrible ruined multicultural rebranding variety?
>>1334076
Ask the professor if he believes in the holocaust myth.
>>1334076
Check if your school is public or private.
>>1334076
Well a lot of history courses are multicultural, since its fucking global.
Unless you're one of those shitty countries whose public schools just teach your country's local history.
What does /his/ think of Marcus Aurelius?

I went to Europe. I expected it to be beautiful. It was just full of trash and graffiti.
One of the most disgusting things though are these things. They are everywhere In Europe. I didn't know what they were for at first but then I noticed a man walk over to one and piss into it. They're public urinals.
As shocking as this was my disgust was just beginning. Men piss in public in Europe everywhere, and all the time. And I don't mean in those public urinals either, men who use those are the exception.
I had only been in Europe for a few hours when I saw a man who was walking on the sidewalk opposite to me stop, take his dick out of his pants, and start urinating in the middle of the sidewalk. When he was done he put his dick away and just walked away. There were people everywhere and he and they didn't seem to mind.
Throughout my stay in Europe I was constantly dodging piss everywhere. It's on the floor. It's on the walls. I would see at least 2-3 men every single day urinating in public, on the sides of buildings, or at the side of the road.
(cont)
One time I came out of a cafe that was on a street corner, as I turned the corner I saw two men pissing against the wall of the cafe. When I parked in a parking lot I would see men park their cars, get out, and start urinating. One day I decided to relax in a park. A man walking through the park stopped and, you guessed it, started pissing in the middle of the park only a few metres away from me.
These weren't lower-class men either. All strata of society were represented. The guy that I first saw pissing in the middle of the sidewalk? He was wearing a suit and tie and talking on his iPhone, presumably to business clients.
One day I went to a museum in Stockholm. I walked into one of the gallery rooms and noticed dozens of people crowding around an artwork, exitedly talking and filming it with their phones. I got in closer to investigate. It was a porcelein urinal. One of the onlookers was boasting that it was the most important European work of art of the 20th Century and explaining that one day a famous musician had cleverly distracted the security guards and managed to piss in it.
The final straw for me was when I went to France and had a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. I didn't see anyone pissing. I felt like I had found the one space in Europe free from my disgust. Then as the tour guide walked us through the magnificent marble corridors he proudly explained to us how the nobility would just urinate and defecate in the halls.

This.
Kill yourself OP.
Why did the Great Depression and stock market crash happen? I'm really terrible with mathematics and economics even though I excel in history, but I really can't wrap my head around exactly why this happened, so I'm hoping someone can please explain it clearly and simply.
From my understanding, having no demand and all supply for a lot of products was one of the factors. Please do let me know if this is at least in part, correct.
Also, what relevance is there to the 2008 crash which many countries seemingly haven't really recovered from?
>>1333727
No demand? That's pretty impossible.
The implementation of central banking is the root cause of the crash. The federal reserve bank (like all central planning in economics) can not complete its mission because only an individual can assign value and properly fulfill his needs.

It's been a long time since the ADL has called the Orthodox Church to follow the suit of their brothers, the Protestants and Catholics. But Orthodox still refuse to comply, is there any excuse for this?
>ADL Urges Orthodox Christian Churches To Excise Anti-Semitism From Liturgy
>New York, NY, June 6, 2007The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is urging the world's Orthodox Christian leaders to support a Christian proposal to excise ancient anti-Semitic passages from their liturgy.
>ADL cited a declaration by an independent group of Orthodox Christian priests and intellectuals who are calling for their churches to reject centuries-old negative theological positions toward Jews and Judaism, including positions on the State of Israel. The group represents five different Orthodox churches, including Greek, Ukrainian, Russian, Georgian and Ecumenical Orthodox Churches. Some signed the declaration in defiance of their church leadership, according to news reports.
>"We call on Orthodox Christian leaders to begin the process now to remove anti-Semitic passages from its liturgy," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "This effort is long overdue. Untold numbers of Jews have suffered throughout the centuries, and today, in some countries where these churches are prominent, Jews are confronted by growing anti-Semitism, because of the failure to address this."

Kant deserves to get shit on, along with the pious, who've completely subverted exemplary traits and convinced the rest of the world to follow their ass-backwards value system.
Nietzsche died alone in a mental asylum
Well yeah, kinda
Nietszche's right but the question is still up there, traits and values have been subverted, but they were man-made in the first place, so what ought we to value now? Nietszche prefered ethics over morality, but I'd argue we need some of both.
