It's really convenient, as all you need to do is press the middle button and your phone is automatically unlocked. Makes it easier to quickly check something. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a phone that has one vs. without through.

No, it's sort of a meme but not quite. No 250 dollar phone will perform like a 7-800 dollar one. That's not to say you get exactly what you pay for with more expensive phones some are overpriced for sure. I have a note 7 (pls no bully) why would I pay for such an expensive phone? Well for one, I don't own a pc (I'm a poorfag believe it or not) so i do pretty much everything on mobile and the note 7 really isn't that expensive on certain phone plans. Well, I already run Debian to use Windows. It's just awesome. A full PC in your pocket. I can even run Windows 98 and the linux distros of my choice. Right now I'm running Hyper-V Server 2012r2. I was able to install Virtualbox and Virtual PC within that. Those work better with a mouse, though.
With a USB OTG adapter I can connect a keyboard, mouse and external HDD and then I have a super portable full workstation.

N900: do whatever the fuck you wanna do, community patches, learned linux better, even installed Android Gingerbread on that fucker. Overclocked the CPU from 600MHz to 850 stable

S2/S3: There's lots of things here, but nothing works well. Every piece of hardware or software was just OK, not good. I kept tinkering because there was always something terrible about a ROM or a launcher etc.

5S: No more customization. Just used the phone. Felt like I had more time to actually use the phone because I wasn't looking for better alternatives to everything all the time. Stopped ricing and just using.

7+: Couldn't stand sub full HD screen and got the 128 gig model.

I've been using the Moto X pure for a week. Upgraded from a Gen 2 Moto G, and it's definitely been worth it.

Occasionally Amazon will put a big sale on their used warehouse phones, especially models that are around a year old. I could have gotten a Nexus 6 for $130, 6p for $220, or Galaxy S6 for $200. That is the first place you should look if you plan on buying a new phone for cheap.

Is the Moto G4 Plus worth buying if they only sell the 16/32 GB internal with 2 GB RAM version of it in my country or do i buy the Moto G4 since it has the exact same specs (sans better camera, turbo power and fingerprint sensor, which is awkwardly placed in my opinion)? For comparison, the Moto G4 goes for 3500-4000 pesos (190-215 USD) and the Moto G4 Plus costs between 5600-6000 pesos (320+ fucking dollars).

I got my dad one of these since he was planning on just keeping his damn IED.
The performance is about what you'd expect from a flagship android. It's smooth and fast but if you have a lot of apps installed or a lot of contacts those screens will stills stutter like crazy. Call quality is pretty good, and the removable battery is a huge plus. I haven't really noticed a difference in sound quality but it is worth noting that the high quality DAC is turned off by default.

Does stock Oxygen/Hydrogen OS support exFAT drives over usb OTG? I have one of these Kingston dual usb C drives that has an A connector one end and a C on the other. Since my drive is 64GB I have it formatted to exFAT, and I really would prefer not to have to format it as FAT32(which I'm sure would work) to make it work on OTG.

The Nexus 5X you suggest has no mSD slot and that's very important to me, 32 GB internal is way too little since i tend to shove as many books, manga, games and anime as i can into my chinese 128 GB SD card, and from what i've seen only a few phones support mSDs that big, my current phone for example supports up to 32 GB and it doesn't read the 128 GB one, the G4 slot apparently supports up to 256 GB and it's pretty cheap, all the other options for around the same price have much better (or much, much worse) specs but have either no mSD slot or read up to 64 GB only, and i really don't want to spend upwards of 18,000 pesos on something i will use 4 hours tops at night and double as an expensive paperweight the rest of the day.
