Are there any real downsides to the OnePlus3? I seem to remember discussing updates with a friend and apparently OP don't put out updates terribly often?

guys I have a problem. my redmi note 3 pro (MIUI) keeps closing apps in the background. let's say I'm listening to internet radio while browsing. At some point the music just stops. And while the radio is still visible in the apptray (or whatever that thing is called where you can tab through all your active apps), whenever I try to maximise it it acts as if it had been started from scratch (back to the start menu, loading screen etc.). Any idea what's happening?

I just got this phone a day ago so I might be missing something easy. but at this point I feel like I'm using an old iOS.

they're for scratches. Nothing will prevent your screen from shattering. Don't believe the marketing hype, your screen will get scratches, they may be tiny but it'll scratch, and if that bothers you then put on the screen protector.

It's much less fragile than you think it is, a screen protector isn't going to do shit when you slam your phone with a hammer because you're a fucking retard.

Ordered a ZTE Axon 7. Going to sell my GS7 Edge if I like it better. I decided against that when I was considering it a while back, but since then it's become clear to me that I wouldn't be able to upgrade my device at any point in 2017, so I wanted something with more third party dev support, and an unlockable bootloader. Plus, audio is pretty important for me and the DAC + front facing speakers is a big deal for me.

I'm really hoping I can FINALLY be completely satisfied with a device.

I've literally never had a smartphone before.

I want one that can: Use Steam's Mobile Chat, and Use an IRC Client of some sort. Playing Music is optional (I use an Ipod Shuffle)

Outside of that, my other main requirement is for it to be as cheap as humanly possible. I get nervous and fidgety when i'm not able to keep up with online stuff that way, but I want to be able to hang out at places other than my house more often, and lugging my laptop around is a pain, especially since I worry it or it's accesory parts will break, so a simple phone with those capabilities would be best.

Well, define your budget. Good chinese phones start at 100$ (Xiaomi Redmi 3s or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3), great ones at 250-300$ (Xiaomi Mi5).
I'm not well versed in sub-100$ category, so can't help you with that, but I'm sure there's a lot of good stuff you can find in there. Don't expect anything less than 50-60$, though.

I have 2 dollars in my wallet right now. Was planning to save up over a few weeks. My ideal was like 70-90$ range.

The Oukitel K4000 Pro looks nice for that range, though if the wiki-link writeup on it is true i'd honestly prefer a bit better camera and microphone, but I don't want to go too much higher just for that.

The redmi pro with the x25 doesnt look bad but how are the chances to get cm on a mediatek processor?
Import costs will push the price up to a 70€ difference between this and the v10 (excluding the battery) so it doesn't look worth getting chink software support.

I work with smartphone repair in EU and I wonder why the fuck so many refugees have Ghost Push (android root virus) on their cheap android phones?

Absolutely no native person have had it, ever. It's annoying because it requires flashing to fix it and I sure as fuck won't risk bricking a phone when the guy doesn't know 3 words of English to explain the situation and risks. Neither do they want to pay shit and just put on a sad face going "PLEASE PLEASE".

A nice phone, my headphone port is fucked though, many have reported crackling and eventual failure after less than a year. However it does seem to usually just be the detection pin or SmartConnect failures which can be corrected via reinstalling the OS or using a tool called SoundAbout. My advice would be look for a different phone since so many better devices available with better features. The 4k display is a meme.
>>
>>56147176
I'm pretty sure no fancy anti-virus app will actually kill Ghost Push when it's given itself root access, preventing even a factory reset from removing it.

There were things I liked about the S5 though, mSD and the removable battery.

The Oneplus is perfect for me, there's a quick gesture (you have to draw an O) to quick launch the camera, you can snap a picture in less than a second. Great performance, battery life a slight improvement over the S5, absolutely love stock Android, crazy fast fingerprint scanner...

Theres nothing I don't like about it really, except maybe the size: it's a tad too big for my hands.

As if changing battery will keep your phone from discharging faster and going slower over the years.

I've changed a lot of batteries, both removable and not but it doesn't do shit to samsung and xperia at least. SOMETHING bogs them down gradually over the years no matter if your usage doesn't change. Probably updates. The best hope is getting a larger battery with a new back/case to support it.

I think microsoft phones are the exception here. Both Android and Apple phones suffer performance and battery degradation for no apparent reason.

Also, "non-removable" is a joke on a lot of phones, not all but quite a few. You just need a screwdriver and the ability to unplug some shit before being able to just pop it out and replace it. I fully understand not wanting to deal with xperia/new samsung phones since they are taped and need replacement tape if you remove the back but ALL iphones, some LG, some Huawei and the like are very hard to actually fuck up anything from a battery replacement on.

Get something that has a bootloader unlock available. It's super easy to flash custom ROMs and you'll get much better performance. The reason why these phones come with 4-6GB of RAM now is because of the bloat and all the shit running in the background. My old Nexus 5 with 2GB of RAM uses about half each day. Stock Android is great.

What is there to trust exactly? Uploading pirated media and getting botnet reported to the authorities? Has this happened even once in a not-shithole country?

Lots of battery life and MicroSD, far cheaper than your budget.

Wouldn't say that's wrong. Samsung are generally well-made - but most definitely so are Xiaomi...

I'm in need of a new phone. Pic related is what I currently have, it's the Verizon Motorola Razr M
Some features I'm looking for:
> Not laggy
> Good camera
> Sensor features like gyroscope and accelerometer
> NFC support
> OS is able to be updated (for some reason my current phone is stuck on 4.4.2 KitKat, if anyone could explain why, you'd be a godsend)
> Good-enough amount of internal storage
> Looks nice

Anyone own the ZTE Axon 7?
Newegg.ca has its release for September with the Passport 1.0 damage warranty and some Monster headphones which are a pretty cool bonus.

I have to say, I'm very pleased with it. I have the black model and I really like the design on it. It's only a bit wider than my nexus 5x so it's been pretty one handable.

>>
>>56142193
I ordered one as well but I've never been a part of the apple "concentration" camp. In fact I almost got an iphone instead but I couldn't resist the note for its S pen. I currently have the note 4, ordered an iphone se but sent it back after a day because it was just to small for me. I did enjoy IOS in the short amount of time that I had it though. Android, especially Samshit is bloated as all fuck. A few minutes off the charger and my note 4 is down 3% and that's with the screen off not doing shit. At least you won't experience the ugly abomination that is touchwiz as they improved it visually on the note 7. Not really anything special about android. You can "rice" it, but that just makes an already bloated phone more bloated. If the only reason you got a note was because you fell for the android is better than ios meme you're probably gonna be dissapointed. If iphones made a phablet with a built in stylus I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Chances are they'd do it a lot better than samshit and they'd do it with a lot less. I love my note 4 and my sylus but even I'll admit half of the features are either useless or pointless and the other half is poorly implemented.

Have you never seen any plan and phone bundle? On most providers the better phones are bait for expensive 2 year plans. And it's not just that way in the USA, this is a common thing.

And then you have all the idiot plebs who go "but I wanted 2GB of unrestricted internet traffic per month and a status symbol phone anyway, I'm not actually paying extra with that $100 / month plan..."
