Got my Redmeme Note 3 yesterday. It's my first smartphone so I have nothing else to compare it with but so far it's really nice.

MIUI's pretty cool too. No problems so far.

My Nexus 6 is dying and I need an upgrade. Is the Oneplus 3 reliable for business use? Most of my peers use Galaxy/iPhones but I dislike them. Also I don't have any real budget and I can't wait for the new HTC Nexus phones.

Need an unlocked phone as well.

Where's LeTV?
They make better value devices than xiaomi and have a decent upgrade system. All devices updated to 6.0 even though many shipped with 5.0
>>
>>56122177
OP3 or AX7.

>>56122259
It's falling because they only focused on online sales and barely invested anything in physical stores in China which is a huge market. that's why Huawei and Oppo succeed they have a much better presence in physical stores there.

>>56121982

It is. The phone had 7.3.7.0 and then got an update when I finished setting it up. Now i'm on 7.5.2.0.

What dual sim phone do you recommend for around 300€ ?

I was thinking about OP2 (no fast/wireless charging is a bummer) or Lumia 950 (>inb4 Win10M. all the apps I need are there and I like the UI)

Is there anything else I should look at?
>>
My smartphone gave up the ghost, and I am thinking about making a smartphone-wifi, dumphone-data/calls combo for the weekdays and smartphone with data for the weekends.

Anyway, are 2nd hand smartphones any good? I can pick a Moto G from Amazon pretty cheap. Everyone upgrades their phones constantly, so I'm reluctant to buying a new one and a bit wary from Chinese stuff.
>>
Hey /spg/, would it be a good idea to get Xperia Z5 for 350EUR?
Or should I get something else for the money?
>>
>>56123424
No, get yourself the Nexus 5x or the Moto G4 plus.

Nexus 5x:
> Good camera in low and normal light
> Good display, much better than the OP2 and Moto G4
> Application performance is the best if you don't consider the ram limit. The OP2 ain't that great with 4GB of ram.
> Not the best battery life. It's behind the Moto G4, the galaxy J5 and the P9 lite, but it beats the OP2.

Source: all info from notebookcheck.net and camera samples with gsmarena and notebookcheck.

At the moment (Belgian prices) the 5x 32gb is about 309EUR, the 16GB version at 278. Moto G4 plus at 266 and Moto G4 at 227.

I just have to admit that the OP2 is extremely outdated and doesn't justify it's price. It would be better at about the 250 range.

>>56123818
At the end you have to convince yourself. I just gave you the 4 main benefits of the 5x in each category (camera, display, application and battery). Now you have to convince yourself with the design, as that's something that ain't comparable.

Not really good with phones, but what do you guys suggest? I live in CA using AT&T. My current phone is Galaxy S3, but it seems like recently its specs aren't holding up that well (everything crashes eventually on and on.)

Is there any /g/ related phone that AT&T might have and isn't bloated? Because every fucking recent android phone I see doesn't have a "clear memory" button, either it's doing it when you close something automatically, or doesn't really use that kind of thing.

Oh nice, thanks, I like the 64GB and + 4GB RAM for $300. Does that mean it'll be 6GB RAM?

I'll save up for this baby, I just hope that the battery is replaceable so I can buy extra ones. I like it even supports microSD cards.

The last thing I wanna ask, since it's carrier friendly, will my current sim card fit in it from my galaxy s3? Or do I have to go to an AT&T store to get a new one that suits for the G4?

Do you think this is a good upgrade from the galaxy s3?
>>
>>56124567
>Does that mean it'll be 6GB RAM?
What? no, it's 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

>I just hope that the battery is replaceable
Battery is non-removable as with most smartphones today.

>ill my current sim card fit in it from my galaxy s3
Both are micro-sim so it should fit and work.

>Do you think this is a good upgrade from the galaxy s3?
Any modern smartphone will be a good upgrade from an S3 honestly.
For $300 SD617 is a little underpowered but should be enough for casual use.

Is there a new big battery phone at the block? Any news about the k6000premium? Or should I just get a v10 with extended battery 420€..? The housefire can't be worse than my HTC m7, but the price could be better...

The redmi pro with the x25 doesnt look bad but how are the chances to get cm on a mediatek processor?
Import costs will push the price up to a 70€ difference between this and the v10 (excluding the battery) so it doesn't look worth getting chink software support.
>>
>>56125006
I mean I know that google still exists even after blocking the camera, but I don't know if I found any phone that isn't google.

I used to have a Razr before, but man everything has changed.

I accept that I cannot escape from google itself, but at least blocking a camera is a step forward. I don't know about you, but it feels kinda awkward to me having a camera starring at me all the time I'm using the phone.

First day with my OP3 and I think everything is going to be fine. It's fast and Oxygen OS feels great. Dash charging is also definitely not a meme and really made me not worry about the non removable battery thing. 5.5" isn't as bad as I thought and somehow it feels more secure in my pocket than my old 4.7" phone.

The only real downsides so far are no SD slot (Really don't see why they couldn't have made the extra sim space an SD or dual purpose slot,) and the fact that everyone thinks you're a weirdo for not using Samsung/LG/HTC/Apple. That and texting is now definitely a two hand ordeal. Meme on me if you must.

Been rolling with the iphone 4 ever since it came out. I want to make the switch over to android but I keep hearing good and bad things about every single phone and I'd like to make a choice that I wouldn't regret. Basically I want a really safe choice. A bit on the cheaper side too. As for specs...everything on the market is better than what I have now. I have Verizon and I hate it.

My iphone 4 has never broken in all the years I've dropped it. I don't even use a case. I also like the fact that it fits into my pocket. I just don't want to spend a ton of money just to accidentally tap the screen too hard and break it or have the phone die in under a year. I like functionality and reliability.

Any suggestions??

Thanks for the suggestions. I figured any of the phones Verizon were carrying were definitely not going to be suggested but that's fine because based on the reviews I've been reading none of them sound reliable enough

This might be a retarded question so sorry for my ignorance but I'm assuming these phones come unlocked so I could put in a verizon sim card to make it work with my carrier correct? I heard verizon is pretty anal when it comes to stuff like this
>>

It's one doable with Swype and one hand but you have to hold the phone in a really precarious feeling way. Maybe I'll get used to that. It probably wouldn't be an issue if you have big hands.

BTW I need your advice. I have three models to choose; theyre the most interesting in their price ranges, which happen to be affordable to me:
-Nexus 5x 1/1 budget
-Meizu M3 Note 1/2 budget
-Cubot Note S. 1/3 budget

Nexus 6P - personal review

I got it a couple of weeks ago for € 380 because i couldn't wait for the new nexuses and I don't think buying new tech immediately is convenient.
Anyway the phone looks great, the design is slick, the aluminium really feels good in hand and it comes with a usb type-c to type-c and type-c to type-b cables (no cheap earphones).
Disregard what people say - the SD equipped on the 6P doesn't overheat at all and the temperature is always under control WHILE NOT CHARGING. When you charge i recommend not using it for cpu intensive tasks because the battery gets quite hot.
Performance is really good and the AMOLED screen is awesome, but gets outclassed by the S7's screen when it comes to look at it under direct sunlight.
Also it has double speakers on the front of the phone for a good audio quality if you want to watch stuff on it when you put it on a table stand.
Only remark i see is the bad position of the power on button and the volume rockers, i can't get a hold of it without pressing one of those, given the reduced thickness of the phone.

I rate it 9/10 so far, curious about how long it will last

i'm in the us, massachusetts. i'll be using h2owireless. i'd be buying unlocked.

ideally i would want front facing speakers, expandable storage, and something that's similar to the htc 10's audio performance with its dac and amp. removable battery is optional, but preferred. my budget is around 500-600.

to my knowledge no such phone like this exists, the closest i can find within the price range is the axon 7, but some weird quirks bug the hell out of me. why are the capacitive buttons that close to each other? why don't they have a backlight? why does it require people to press the stupid bell icon on the lock screen to show notifications? i assume the lockscreen thing can be fixed with like acdisplay or something, but those buttons are obnoxious.

anyone know how the axon 7 is compared to the htc 10? is there a reason i should wait for the nexus to drop and for the htc 10 to drop in price after that?

Bought an HTC 10 two days ago. Been liking it so far

Just wish its Quick Charge didn't make it hotter than the god damn sun. Also forgot it has an LCD display rather than AMOLED so battery life isn't as good as it could be (my display is rated at using 40% despite using the second lowest brightness, so i'm kinda fucked there)

Kinda wish I went with the OP3, but i needed the SD slot
>>
>>56137286
Doesn't the HTC and the OP3 basically get a similar battery life? The OP3 allegedly gets about 4-5hrs SOT.
>>
Best place to buy phone online in EU?
Obviously has to ship in the EU.
>>
>>56137338

Yeah, I can get about 4.5 hours of SOT on my OP3. Then again i use it a lot for work

Dunno, if they're affordable enough then probably not, but even the cheapest will probably still be 16GB ROM

Google has got to start upping their sizes on Nexus phones unless people literally just buy them for development/rooting and cloud shit

/g/ I need some help with restoring apps on a new phone :

1) When you start a phone fresh, Google asks you to restore all the apps saved from a previous Android phone. I declined at the time but I want the option back. Where to?

2) I saved all my apps and settings via Titanium Backup when I was on root. Can you restore on another phone off root?

Appreciate it

Anyone here have experience activating a Nexus 5X with Verizon?
I lost the nano sim card from my current broken phone but I have the micro sim from my phone before that I was thinking of trimming. Not sure if it's still activated with Verizion or how that works.

Otherwise I have to choose from Verizon's current lineup and it all looks like shit and iOS got stale for me, I was using an iPhone 5 for the past 4 years.

It's a recycled design I think m8. Rebbit likes it though. Any further rumours yet?

Hey /spg/ what's your favorite phone of all time? Doesn't have to be current.
Mine's easily the Nexus 6. There will never be another phablet of that size with the same gorgeous design and feature set
>finally a phablet with an actually large screen
>QHD AMOLED
>front facing speakers to match
>hardware that still holds up
>battery life was bretty gud

>front facing camera was poop

I'll forever miss it's legacy

Where the fuck one must buy OnePlus phone? Is it for non-Europe or something? I am fucking sick and tired of 'out of stock' or 999EUR price tags. Jesus!

Is the LG G5 a good choice or I am better off with something else? I just want a somewhat smaller phone, not a 5.5 phone that seems to be the norm now.

Obviously you were going to order it directly from OnePlus?

Not that I am a fan of their sales tactics with invite only nonsense and such low availability and shit.

Even just for that reason alone I got a different Chinkphone...

Because the one I've looked at don't have a SD card slot and for me that's kind of a deal breaker.

That's interesting because I had a One m8 (normal) before I got my Nexus 6. Motorola refuses to fix phones in Canada so I got the 6P, and I just miss the screen size and the lack of bezels

I'm in Europe.
I don't use my phone for much besides music, checking and responding to emails and occasionally reading a book or browsing the internet.

After looking a bit I might just go with the Redmi Note 3 Pro, even if the screen is 5.5, unless there's a better alternative.
>>
What's the catch with the Axon 7? It's easily better than the OPO 3, and it's probably gonna kill the new Nexus too. It seems too good frankly.

My Galaxy S2 is starting to show its age and the battery is not in the best condition, have not found batteries to replace it either (changed it once so far)
So I am looking for a new one:

>at around 5 inches max (I got small hands)
>budget is not an issue

guys I have a problem. my redmi note 3 pro (MIUI) keeps closing apps in the background. let's say I'm listening to internet radio while browsing. At some point the music just stops. And while the radio is still visible in the apptray (or whatever that thing is called where you can tab through all your active apps), whenever I try to maximise it it acts as if it had been started from scratch (back to the start menu, loading screen etc.). Any idea what's happening?

I just got this phone a day ago so I might be missing something easy. but at this point I feel like I'm using an old iOS.

Is the S7e any better than the S7? Worth it for the extra cost?

I have manlet hands and am concerned that I'll end up brushing the side all the time with the base of my thumb so leaning towards S7 but if there's a significant difference I might change my mind

It's more than fine.

Of course the "even if the screen is 5.5" bit lets me suspect you might want the Redmi 3 (s, Pro, ...) or something?
