>2.0 introduces a large number of features, notably network disk browsing (Windows shares, UPnP, NFS, FTP, SFTP...), favorite folders and URLs, video playlists, rewritten notifications and control, popup video and a rewritten history.

>It is also a merge of Android TV and Android versions, so that every device can optionally get the Android TV interface. The TV interface has been improved quite a bit too. Finally, it should be faster to decode and playback all video types.

>Browsing your local network will make it much easier to play content on your Android devices if you've got a NAS or large shared directory on your PC. It also supports remote connections like FTP and SFTP. You can save favorite folders and URLs in the app for easy access as well.

>One of the more interesting things in this release is the option to toggle any device to the Android TV UI for VLC. Yes, even if you've got a tiny phone. I can see this being handy on larger tablets, or maybe if you're using screen mirroring on a TV.

I really would like to discard the proprietary shit I'm using for Android local Chromecast support but I guess this isn't the day for that.

Not excited about this release.

When will HDR monitors come out?

Late last year and early this year, the HDR monitors that would be made possible by DisplayPort 1.3 were all the rage with their supposedly better colors, brightness and contrast range. Since then however, there has only been a passing mention of HDR with Nvidia's reveal of the 1080 and there are still no mainstream HDR monitors that have been revealed. I'm holding off of new monitors until HDR comes out but I'm feeling worried about how long it'll take for HDR to go mainstream.

Good question, idk. Seems like only TVs so far and very few 30" x thousand $ monitors.

Do you think it's only gonna be OLED from now on?

Looking for a 4k 32" (or bigger if not too expensive, but without sacrifice of quality) for more headroom in photo editing in photo software / more space to use the software on (and can also multitask when not doing critical work).

From the little research I've done, it seems https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/benq-bl3201pt-bl3201ph/ seems to check most of the checkmarks

It's 32", so it has closer to 90-100ppi than 27-28 4k monitors. The monitor apparently has some scaling for 1920x1080, so I could prolly play games with it on that res. The response time and input lag of that monitor seems to be on the better side for a IPS monitor.

What it doesn't have is adobe rgb/10bit, it doesn't have S-VA. But reading this article http://www.color-management-guide.com/how-to-choose-monitor-for-photography.html I got the gist that a IPS is overall better?

Since I play games too, and I don't want monitor to be terrislow (I play fps games like overwatch). This LG 31MU97 monitor https://youtu.be/I4p7b21zUN4?t=62 for instance is pretty slow. I've been told that S-VA has advantage in some black/grey contrasts , but the IPS has overall better colors?

The option for scaling to 1920x1080 is important too, since obv not every game will support 4k res (older games especially?)

Is this benq the right monitor for me? It's sRGB monitor, while some other monitor could be Adobe RGB. But wouldn't a

But wouldn't a Adobe RGB monitor require some good sRGB support too, for games and programs that don't have aRGB? I've noticed some Adobe RGB mons might not have as good sRGB support?
>>
>>55194071
unless you sit very far away from it I don't even know how you'd use such a fuckhuge monitor for fps or any multiplayer game.

>let me just turn my head to check if I still have ammo

I have a 27" 4k monitor and it's the absolute limit for me. next time I'd rather go for a smaller one.

>>55194188

Also, Canonical are really being super-dicks recently. They are very hard to work with for everyone else.

The big trouble with containers is they're not very good at security updates for shared libraries inside packaged apps...

I want the cheapest Bose Wave that handles Bluetooth and has a CD player. And of course 2 alarms and a clock. So far thats the Wave Music System III, with the Bluetooth Adapter, BUT THAT'S STILL OVER $500! Anyone got any ideas?

Also, I'm pretty poor (as you can see), so my PC budget is $1500* (does not include shipping and tax), which is pretty good (I think)

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ML6HxY

this is my current configuration, which I think is the best you can get out of $1500 (GTX 1070 is $449.99, I think the price may not show because it's currently out of stock)

Basically ITT: Experience with the Bose Wave,
how to get what I want the cheapest.
And comments and/or advice on my current PC setup

*I already have good peripherals
