Hi /g/. I'm curious, what are the kind of systems embarked on a space rocket? What kind of OS do they work on, how "data-heavy" are they?
Yeah, as you can tell I'm not from these parts and I don't know shit about technology.
Laptops on the ISS run Debian linux.

>>59232433
what do you use?
I use IDLE on a calibrated monitor (120cd/m2, 6500, costs around €2000)
Nobody's going to tell me that hipster and/or dark meme themes are better than black on white on a proper monitor.

Why do Windows users need more monitors than GNU/Linux users?
Is it because they're more professional?
Yes.
Also Linux only supports one monitor.
3 monitors is a stupid meme. I can use 2 monitors, but even then it pisses me off that I have to turn. It's just a necessity.

They don't have advanced window managers for a more efficient workflow using less space.
is it possible to install an OS on a hdd that's plugged into a USB port?
just wondering.

Why not?

makes a shit load of folders, assuming its bug free
>>59232275
what did you want to use it for?
>>59232330
I was hoping it could be used as a kind of zip bomb.
How can I make it create infinite nests of folders?
I could make md %random% but I'm not sure how nests of infinite folders within folders could be made.
Because it's not a traditional zip or folder bomb it will go undetected on my friends computers.
I need your help /g/
I'm going to change my phone anytime soon (currently using an HTC One X+) and I'm looking for another HTC device, since it went pretty well and I'm satisfied with these brand
I've reading a lot about the M8s and the M9 and I need your help to decide
Anyone of you has any of these phones? Share your experiences with them.
I'm not planning to use it very intensively, just music, photos and messaging primarily

The M8 is GOAT.

>Avanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock fell hard for the second day in a row on concerns that its latest high-performance desktop PC processors aren't living up to their hype.
>AMD stock fell as much as 8% on the stock market today, ending the day down 6.3%, at 13.03.
>On Thursday, AMD shares tumbled 7.1% to 13.90 on disappointing reviews of the company's Ryzen 7 chips related to video game performance. The Ryzen 7 family of processors launched on Thursday.
>AMD shares reached a more than nine-year high of 15.55 on Tuesday, but have fallen for three of the last four trading sessions.

Now I was thinking stock price is meant to go up when you have the best processor ever made (according to literal fuckwits on /g/).

Also, inb4 lenovo. I'm not loaded and I needed a laptop for everyday use.
>>59231822
you did okay anon, it'll do you just fine as long as you don't do anything too intensive
>12GB RAM
I'm guessing from a combination of a 8GB and 4GB stick.
Don't expect much from the integrated graphics with the RAM running in dual-channel mode.
More than 2 years later and this is still one of the best android devices around
Why can't others even compete?

The Note 4 series was really amazing, and still is absolutely great.
No reason to upgrade still. It's certainly not a powerful device anymore by today's standards, but it is still perfectly functional. If you have one then upgrading from it is unnecessary.
>>59231881
A co-worker has the note3pro. He bought it as a recommendation of mine. I have the Note 4.
While his phone might be a slight faster in benchmarks, my Note 4 is still faster with everyday use. We both use Nova so that's pretty much the same. What I am talking about is opening apps, the camera quality, the OS skin itself, etc.
Plus the pen functionality of course, but then again not everyone needs that. I do, that's why I bought this phone 2 years ago.
Anyone use it? I recently got my work MSDN subscription updated, and I get £50/month worth of Azure credits. Pretty neat, got tons of pre installed ISO's from Windows + VS, Kali Linux, to Voip images.
Pretty neat.
