Can't wait, and it's only 5 days until Zack Snyder is on Conan. DCEU fucking hype.

I hate these shitty plastic toy things. There's about a hundred different companies making the exact same thing and they all look like shit.
It seems all the big superheroes have at least one bizarre live-action project that never went forward to their name. In this thread we remember them.
>Superman Lives (1998).
Directed by Tim Burton.
Clark Kent is an introverted, socially awkward reporter who uses his extraordinary powers to protect the world as Superman, but is also alienated from the human race because of them. Joining forces with corrupt businessman Lex Luthor, Brainiac arranges for Superman to be deprieved of sunlight, which gives him power, and die in battle with a genetically engineered monster, Doomsday.
However, Superman is revived by K without his powers or memories of his life on Earth, and returns to fight crime as a gadget-based "Hip-Hop Phantom of the Opera", and, while he struggles to regain his lost humanity with help from his girlfriend Lois Lane and his best friend, Jimmy Olsen, Brainiac fuses with Luthor to become a bickering two-headed cyborg who calls itself "Lexiac", and moves forward with his plan to destroy the entire planet, and the fate of the world rests on Superman's hands.

His powers make him a social outcast and drive him to become a reporter for the Daily Planet alongside his childhood friend and unrequited crush Lois Lane, who attempts to expose CIA operative Lex Luthor's attempts to locate extraterrestrial life on Earth.
Driven by his desire to help others, Clark adopts the identity of "Superman", luring General Kata-Zor's son, Commander Ty-Zor, to Earth, where he joins forces with Luthor and masterminds Superman's death from exposure to Kryptonite. However, an encounter with his long-lost father in Heaven gives Superman the necessary strength to return to life and lead Earth's military forces against Ty-Zor and his men, during which Luthor is revealed as a Kryptonitan spy conspiring to usurp power. Once his enemies are defeated, Superman is forced to leave Earth behind to return to Krypton and liberate it from Kata-Zor's dictatorial rule, unaware that his greatest battle with his prophetized nemesis, Luthor, is still to come.

She is deployed to prevent billionaire businessman Dr. Peter Sychopoulus, CEO of SDS Industries, from creating a weapon of mass destruction that damages metal structures without affecting the people therein, which he intends to sell to a former Russian general planning a coup. Diana retrieves a vital component for the weapon, the rare element Neutronium, but is injured in the process.
Meanwhile, Donna Troy, a plain, introverted young representative of a company that sells environmentally-conscious products, begins experiencing strange nightmares, in which she learns she is a long-lost Amazon and Diana's successor as the Wonder Woman. She begins fighting crime in sleepwalking fits, attracting the attention of rugged Detective Mike Schorr and assassins employed by Sychopolous. Schorr then helps Donna locate an injured Diana, who mentors her in controlling her powers. In the process, Donna learns that Diana is her mother, and gave her up for adoption to protect Donna from her enemies, after her husband, DIA operative Steve Trevor, was murdered.
As Wonder Woman, Donna, alongside Diana and Mike, must fight the mercenaries employed by Dr. Psycho to retrieve the component and prevent the weapon from being completed and used to bomb Gateway City. In the end, Diana sacrifices himself to save Mike, and ascends into Heaven with the other Wonder-Women before her, while Donna inherits the Lasso of Truth and vows to use it to defend the innocent until it is time to pass it onto her own daughter.

Who is she? Also good on him for calling her out.
What camera did they use, their asshole? This looks like Liveleak footage from 1992.

Why did Bendis become a meme but not Slott? What makes them different? What makes a writer meme-worthy?
>>78802551
Because the only people that give a fuck about Slott are Peterfags, and Peterfags are perpetual whiners.
Bendis exists beyond his pet characters, and even beyond his Marvel work. Like it or not, his work at Marvel in the past 16 years has set the stage for their market domination now. He created a character which just got a Netflix show that was well-recieved, one of his IPs has been launched as an exclusive for PSN which he is writing for. He's a multiple Eisner nominated and winning writer and is notably really kind to fans and notoriously held in high regard by his artists. All of that is juxtaposed with the fact that his writing in the past 6 or 7 years has ranged between hot garbage and 'could be better'.
>>78802551
Bendis?
>>78802938
The writer?
/co/'s fine. Just look at it, so quiet, so peaceful.
Now you just shut those sleepy eyes and hop aboard the dreamland express. Why is the Professor the best PPG character?

DO THE PEOPLE HAVE TO BEFREEDOM BEEF
>>78802468
Because as adults watching the show now, you identify with him way more than you did watching the show as a kid. He gets to occupy the entertaining contradiction of being fatherly proud of his girls' superheroics, but also genuinely worried for their safety. He's also a Pa Kent-tier perfect dad, for the same reasons - if you didn't buy for a second that he was the ideal father, you'd never buy their kids being so well-adjusted.

I only read the first issue. the art was great, the story and the world have potential, but it seems too manga-like to me.
Not sexy enough. You can't open up your comic with the slave auction of a cute brown amputee and then not go down the sexy route.
R.I.P. Frank Armitage (1924-2016)
He was a painter who did backgrounds for classic Disney movies like Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and The Jungle Book.
He also donated art for causes like medical education and promoting the preservation of silverback gorillas.
It's always nice to learn about the people behind beloved movies, even if it's after they die.

Are there any Marvel or DC supervillains that Muslim extremists? If not why aren't there any? I'm all for Muslim heroes like Kamala but we can't pretend like that there aren't any evil people who are Muslim. Also it wouldn't be islamophobic since there are tons of Christian villains and right now a Muslim extremist villain would be alot more relevant than Nazi villains. Also Holy Terror is shit.
>>78799708
Damn...I was hoping I could find the one other person in the world who thought holy terror was sort of fun. at the very least Frank Miller's art is phenomenal. I do enjoy me some post-sin city Frank Miller art, yessir.
