Well it was more like it did some things far better than that comic and some things worse than that comic.

1.) EO's Clark was a unlikable emo dick that NEVER ever seemed to give a shit about helping others, only what he could best use his powers for.
> MOS fixed that by making Clark clearly yearn to help people but help back by his indecisiveness out of fear that he may cause more harm then good and change the world in a bad way.
2.) EOv1 had a poor silly looking villain
> MOS fixed this by giving us possibly the most sympathetic fleshed out versions of Zod in any medium with great armor designs.
3.) EO felt a bit too down to earth and grounded.
> MOS fixed this by making its world very realistic but gave us a grand scoping story.
4.) Both EO and MOS had the right tone and world building.

>1.) EO's Clark was a unlikable emo dick that NEVER ever seemed to give a shit about helping others

That's the big one, in fact the only person he was really trying to help early in EO was his mom.... by trying to apply to different jobs under his name and showing off a super-ability or two.

At least MoS had him trying to go out there and help people discreetly.

the show returns tonight who else is excited?

The Avatar

duh

Same as Moses

Considering his healing abilities and the fact that various miracles he performed involved water, I'd say he'd be an ultra powerful waterbender.

So, I have this very, very strange taste and I hope you guys forgive it, but for some reason I find 11-14 year old girls crying or being overall depressed very appealing. Like, not even on a sexual level but I find some strange pleasure in seeing them being depressed.

Like, whenever I watch a new cartoon or movie with a pubescent girl I can't wait to have them cry at some point. Do you guys have some strange fascinations like this? Hell, can it even be consider a fetish?

You should really see Evangelion familia
>>
>>78929118
I already watched evangelion and, I don't know, anime girls crying don't appeal to me that much, mainly because they draw them too "pretty" when they cry. I know, sounds pretty strange and not logical at all.

Do cartoons need stuff like continuity, drama, and lore in order to be truly great?

If live action tv can enter into a golden age of serial story-telling and complex character development, the same can be done for cartoons.
>>
No. Solid characters and good writers are about all you need.
>>
No. What works for one show isn't necessarily important for another. There's more than one genre.

They released a new clip today, with 20% of a crappy song at the end. I could do without the music. Altogether, I'm still marginally interested in this episode.

It doesn't strike me as particularly awful. It's trying to be something it's not, but it's still better than a lot of other stuff on TV.

>New CBS president Glenn Geller raised the possibility of a crossover between his network’s “Supergirl” and the CW’s DC superhero drama “The Flash.”

>“I have to be really careful what I say here,” Geller said when asked by reporters during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “Watch and wait and see what happens.”

>The answer is in stark contrast to previous answers given by former CBS president Nina Tassler, who always downplayed the possibility of a crossover.

She was really anti-crossover for some reason.

Probably triggered by the thought of Supergirl needing help from those cis scum privileged heroes Flash and Arrow

>Zack Snyder: ‘Justice League’ Film Will Explore ‘the Mythology’ of Doomsday

>“I know what’s in the movie, so I know there’s other stuff,” Snyder laughed, checking in via phone from Los Angeles, where he’s putting the final touches on the March 25 release.

>“We had a long conversation about just taking ownership of that, of giving it to the audience in a controlled way that I felt was consistent with the escalation of the campaign,” said Snyder, a commercials veteran.

>“In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team,” he teased. “Maybe there’s a bigger enemy to fight.”

>Did he mean Darkseid? Brainiac? Ever ambiguous, Snyder hinted at what he may or may not have in mind for Justice League’s “bigger enemy.” “Well, you have Doomsday, right? He doesn’t just crawl out of the ground. He has his own mythology, right? So that has to be explored…”

>To us it really made sense to give [Doomsday] to the audience now. I really wanted to make the audience a promise that… though I’m super excited and happy and fulfilled by the conflict of Batman and Superman, there’s also a bigger world to start to think about.”

>>
Doomsday will have ties to Brainiac and Brainiac will be Kryptonian based and in the end JLs villain will be Brainiac
>>
>Snyder’s the one laying down the roadmap. “It is constantly evolving, but we’re starting to get a handle on where we’re going with the world,” he said. “That’s fun because it allows us now to be driving toward a goal that we don’t have to make up as much. The rules can be the rules, and the movie can exist in a closed universe… it allows us to tie things together. If there’s a movie over here doing this, and we’re over here doing this, now we’re all on the same page.

>“It allows for a coherent universe, which is important,” he added. “I think that makes the experience a little more satisfying because we know where we’re going, so the misdirects can be stronger and the reveals can be bigger.”

>“We made him fight,” Ayer told USA Today. “He’s awesome (as Batman)...You really sense that but for the grace of God he himself would be doing some really foul stuff out in the world.”

>“The great thing about having Chris Terrio as the writer of this project is it’s hard to get him not to do that. It’s in his DNA,” he said. “When we talk about it in mythological terms we’re always talking about, what does it mean to the world? What does it mean mythologically to us, now? What is the why of all of it?”

>“Those conversations are a big part of the genesis of all of the ideas,” he continued. “It also offers an opportunity because you have now a variety of perspectives on a single issue. That allows the conversation to be bolder and more lively in the debate, because of these varied points of view.”

Can we have a thread about "Kirikou and the Sorceress" and its sequels?
I saw the first movie and it was great. It's too bad the (not for sexual) nudity will probably scare a lot of people off. I imagine posting screencaps would be out of the question.

I saw it at the cinema when I was at collage. I was slightly stoned and thought it was totally awesome and something that could actually be great to show at kids.

There was fantasy, but everything was presented in a very realistic and pedagogical way.

>JOE RUSSO: "Everything is finite, right? Nothing can last forever. It's cyclical. Some New Avengers in Phase 4 are going to become prominent and then maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore. So, we'll see how all this plays out but you have to treat every character with respect. I think it's interesting that if you've seen four or five movies with the lead character having an arc, I want to see some storytelling from some of the secondary characters. We're focusing on that right now with INFINITY WAR while we're breaking into those movies, asking which characters can we pull to the forefront who potentially haven't had their own 'A' story arc to this point. I think you'll see that the supporting Avengers are going to become primary Avengers."

Which lines up with previous rumors the first movie would focus on a ragtag team led by Doctor Strange.

It would be nice for some of the other characters to get the spotlight after years of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor pretty much taking up most of the MCU spotlight, I think a ragtag team lead by Strange would be kickass
