In your opinion how long do cartoons stay funny? Are the oldest Looney Tunes, Popeye, Disney etc still funny by today's standards? What about in 100 years? What about cartoons today in, say, 50 years?
Outdated

I don't know but when i watch that Betty Boop cartoon i find that very cool at 3:30 to the end https://youtu.be/ZjJRbMIuF5g?t=3m30s
and it's very """""dated""" but i don't care.

Could you elaborate?
I feel like Damian and the Jason are so similar in their personalities they might as well be the same character.
>Damian raised under bruce slowly becomes less edgy, is later kidnapped by the Joker and beat to death with a crowbar. Talia or another League of Assassins member retrieves his corpse, reviving him, but leaving his mind and memories severely scarred. Vengeful and full of abandonment issues, he assumes the name Jason Todd and later calls himself the Red Hood.
Same with Tim Drake and Grayson. Drake's not interesting enough of a character on his own unless you thrust him 50 years into the future. It just feels like too much to have two similar-ish Robins exist in the same world, so why not take all of the interesting personality traits of Drake and give them to Grayson.
I can get Bruce having 2 Robins and Barbara in a story, but 4 just seems like overkill.
>>83726670
Hell yes there are.
And I can hardly tell any of the fuckers apart unless I'm explicitly told which ones which.
But it's Batman which means more characters equals more spinoff potential and therefor more money.
no it's fine
>>83726670
I'd be okay if they went off and did their own unique things, but DC and fans are determined to keep them all in Gotham and interacting with each other and stepping on its others toes.
No point in Dick, Jason, and Tim being grown up Robin in the same room as each other since writers will just reduce them to one trait.
Why do people enjoy watching Superman get beat up and defeated so badly?
Because everyone wants to see the best of us fail miserably and be brought down to their level.
Because when you're that overpowered, it's the only interesting thing left you can do

What are some perfect or near perfect big two comic runs of the past five years? Runs that where able to tell complete story and where done mostly by one writer? For me
Spurrier X-Men Legacy
Fraction's Hawkeye
Lemire's Animal Man
Spencer's Superior Foes of Spider-Man
King's Omega Men
And most likely King's Vision once it finishes and maintains its current quality
Inb4 I have shit taste

When Flash comes back to Earth with a detox'd Venom.
They'll launch a team up book.
It will be glorious for 12 issues, then get cancelled despite huge sales because fuck the readers, right?
>>83725834
>I don't read comics the thread
No, because Peter put the symbiote in the foe-zone. Peter will never love it like it loves Peter. Even though it claims to love Eddie now, even if the three of them tried to be friends, there'd be that sexual tension with the symbiote obviously wanting to get it on with Peter, Eddie being oblivious to this and thinking things are just fine between him and the symbiote, and the intense discomfort Peter would feel with knowing what's really going on between the two.
Just a reminder of what memeing can do
Anyway, what do you expect?

It sure was there.
I didn't really care for it or hate or like it, it was just there.
The Army of Darkness crossover was decent. I liked that Doom had the Marvel universe's version of the Necronomicon just sitting around.

Entertaining garbage.
/co/, what are your thoughts on Blade?
I just watched it again for the first time in like 10 years, and I was surprised at howgood it holds up.
Deacon Frost is the greatest Marvel villain of all time
Literally THE BEST
>>83724701
Pretty good has a lot of flaws.
wesley snipes as balde was just perfect.
>>83724701
This and Blade 2 are comic book movie perfection.
Anything else like this? Self-contained graphic novels that focus on drama and fucked-up imagery?
Have you read Simmon's other narrative driven stuff? Like House and Jessica's Farm. He also has short story books like Habit and The Furry Trap
>>83724492
I haven't yet, but i definitely will.

I'm trying to get into Dorkin's Milk & Cheese, but I can't still find a strip that sells me the whole humor. The art looks good, the main characters have this certain visual charm that makes you want to have a vinyl figure or a poster of them in your room....but like said, I'm still iffy with the "random mayhem" strip jokes, if that's a proper term to call it. They reminded me slightly of the Mooninites from ATHF, and those two are indeed funny.
For the anons who grew up reading it in the 80s/90s: Did the humor aged well? Or is this some niche comedy not meant for everybody?
>>83723710
Back when they first came out it was a breath of fresh air for those of us who only had an LCS that stocked the big two.
I've not read my floppies in a LONG time. Maybe if I had a six pack and was bored.
SCUD, Poison Elves and Milk & Cheese.
>Cameo in Hack/Slash
Didn't expect that at all.
>>83723710
I just don't like how wordy it was, Dorkin just crams dialogue in every page to the point where it becomes a chore. It sucks especially when you don't find a certain strip funny.
So I finally got to reading Sandman, and there's something I don't quite get. I figured it's set in Vertigo universe, so I wasn't surprised to see Constantine, but What is Batman and Justice League doing there? I thought Vertigo and DC Universe were separate before Flashpoint?
They made one appearance, IIRC. They're not used ever again.
And that was when Vertigo was literally just the UK branch of DC. It wasn't until ~'93 that it became its own imprint, separate from the DCU.
>>83723600
Thanks
>>83723600
And even after that, some of the books still aren't separate from the main DC line, just independent.
Anything written by Gaiman applies, as far as I'm aware, and it would seem odd that Animal Man weren't still in universe with Batman even after it became a Vertigo title.
You just have to play it by ear with each title.
