I enjoyed it unironically, and liked nearly all of the characters, David especially after the finale. It pretty much showed that Miles Luna is pretty much a slow burn writer. Give him time and a plan and he works really well, all things considered. I think though with Camp Camp it needs two viewings, if you really want to enjoy it. The first, you are blind. The second, knowing what you know, a lot more things click and it's great.

So this show was clearly meant to just be a tie-in to the movie, given how everything was tailored to resemble the movie versions of the characters, even seemingly building upon the story of the movie. Yet the entire plot revolves around Peter coming in contact with his father J'son, even though one of the first things we got to know from interviews after the movie was released is that J'son was not going to be Peter's father in the movie continuity. Hell, even if we didn't know that, it's obvious that the canon sequel would have it's own version of Peter meeting his father, making the show non-canon regardless.
So why even bother making it a direct sequel if it's just going to be rendered non-canon after a year? Why not just make it it's own independant adaptation?
