House centipedes aren't really dangerous to humans. Though a lot of people find them creepy, they do eat spiders and roaches. I usually just put them outside, but you could let it be or kill it. It's your centipede.
>>
>>2374004
Leave him be. He'll kill spiders and insects and is harmless other than being "scary".

This. He'll actually rid you of a lot more pests than that, especially nuisance ones. I wish I had one. I got ants, carpet beetles, spiders and pill bugs. A nice house centipede would be perfect about now. Plus spring is coming.

How can a zoo be made more ideal for ANIMALS?

I'd say a kind of free-roaming park with compatible animals, and a fenced walkway for humans. Or just really huge enclosures with aerial walkways.

There's a free roaming monkey park like that near where I live and it's cool as fuck.
>>
Multiple free roaming enclosures separated by walkways across the park where predators can roam to and fro above the heads of the zoo goers.

Most of the modern "controversy" surrounding captive programs centers around keeping large predators or higher primates or animals far away from their natural climate (penguins). Most captive animals thrive in captivity as is.
>>
>>2373938
Penguins are fine in captivity though if you keep them indoors with a controlled environment. Plus there are plenty of penguins that don't live anywhere near Antarctica and prefer a moderate climate.

Another spring, another massacre i have to clean up. I live out in rural western Washington and there's a bunch of rabbits, deer and the occasional coyote around my area. A couple of years ago i got two cats who are really nice but they keep bringing rats, moles and my least favorite rabbits to my front door step and if they can into my house. Even though it's been over two years i just can't get used to it, it's unbelievably gross to me and i hate having to clean up bodies or bloody guts.

My main question is how can i keep rabbits away from my home without hurting my cats?
I don't want to stop my cats from being outside so i don't want to spray something outside that could be harmful to them.

Stop letting your cats outside and they'll stop bringing you back dead animals. If you're gonna reply with bitchnigga excuses as to why you can't, kill the cats.

Put up a cat fence. It'll cut down on the body count. Possibly eliminate the rabbit part if the spaces are too small for clueless baby bunnies to squeeze through.
>>
>>2373891
Both of my cats grew up wild when they were kittens and it has heavy influenced their behavior. They hunted for food and they love being outside, hell one of them can't even use the litter box and has to go outside to piss and shit. If i kept them inside all the time it would be hell for them, it's not like a dog.

Wild Game Thread.

Have you hunted recently? If so, what did you manage to get?

Pic related, two moose backstraps carved off the spine of the moose immediately after kill, just a few days old. I ended up with around 400+/- lbs of ground beef, sausage, rounds, roasts and more. I live in Washington state so being able to hunt is a lifetime opportunity that only 8 of around 80,000 people get to do after winning the license lottery every year. Like money, a lot of people come out of the woodwork when they find out you have fresh meat.

What the fuck is the point of hunting? Buy that shit at a grocery store and stop pointless killing of animals. There's already plenty of animals killed to feed you.

Any advice for going mushroom foraging? Obviously not eating them and then asking for ID like pic related.

Should I just go into a forest and look for any mushrooms I can find, or is there a better way to do it?

Also QTDDTOTT for mushrooms.

If you're actually planning on eating anything you find, I'd really suggest taking one of those wild edibles courses most areas have. Fucking up with mushrooms can be a very, very costly mistake.
>>
Well, the mushrooms you're likely to encounter varies with where you're located. Where are you at, OP?

In the meantime, posting neat mushrooms with some facts about them.

This here's one of my favorites, Lactarius indigo. It's piss easy to identify for beginners, even if you're not familiar with the typical russula/lactarius shape: just make a small cut on the underside of the gills. If a deep blue latex seeps out, congratulations. You've found one. They're really photogenic mushrooms, and they're pretty tasty as well. The trama of this mushroom has a lot of spherical clusters of cells called sphaerocysts, which give them a nice, thick, meaty texture when cooked. A bit of salt and butter, and you'll end up with a plateful of tasty mushroom bits and a blue-tinted frying pan. They can also get quite large, so it doesnt take many to get some pretty nice portions off of.

I need some help /an/

I will be getting a pool in a rural area in the next month or so, and I need to know how to deal with wildlife around it.

How do I prevent animals from falling into the pool? and if they fall in, what dangers do they pose? (Parasites, Bacteria, Diseases, e.t.c)

Any Questions and All Help is appreciated.

I need some help. I have had a terrarium with a tarantula and a bunch of plants (justicia pectoralis, ficus tree, purple clovers, and a few succelents) and it's always had this ant population growing in it.
The tarantula (a female Curly Hair) has always taken care of the growing population with her webs and by hunting them, but after her 7th molt (probably a good 4 inchs from fangs to back of the legs), she's kinda grown out of wanting to eat them, and has moved onto the beetle population thats living in the tank as well. But now the ant population has blown up, and has started venturing out of the terrarium.

How should I control this? I can't use a pesticide within the tank for fear of hurting the other things. A co2 bomb would be effective, but Id have to remove the T, and Id lose this beetle population shes hunting, which would suck. Could i sort of paint a pesticide along the outside of the tank? To just kill anyone that walks outside? Idk.

Also, I wanna see other anons planted reptile/aquarium/invert displays.

It's my boyfriends 21st coming up in July and he really loves rats, him and his ex used to have two but she got rid of them when they broke up. I would like to buy him a rat but I don't know much about them. Can you give me all info I'd need in terms of what type of cage, what size cage, what type of sawdust (not sawdust, they can't have that but whatever the alternative is) and just general rat buying tips. We have a really small, one room bachelor flat but I'm willing to make it work?

I don't know anything about rats except that you need to have atleast 2 because they can die of loneliness.
>>
>>2371100
That's so sad yet beautiful in a way. Definitely going to get two then
>>
>>2371093
Cage should be made of wire, 5 feet tall, a couple feet wide.
Line the cage with towels and rags. Don't use sawdust or wood chips.
