I love Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie is a chore
Nuts & Bolts was entertaining for its own reasons
Didn't bother with Banjo Pilot or Grunty's Revenge.

Yooka-Layle is basically all of the boring shit from Banjo-Tooie placed in massive, empty worlds that gradually degrade in quality after the first one.

I was never the biggest fan of Gruntilda's Lair's layout or the world around it in Tooie, but Hivory Towers just takes everything that was tedious or boring about the first two games' overworlds and amplified it here.

The best way to describe Yooka-Laylee compared to Banjo-Kazooie is like one year, your mother makes you a really nice birthday cake. It's fluffy, delicious, not too much icing, maybe a little fondant character on it. You tell your mom the character was a really nice touch.

So next year, your mom makes you one of those disgusting cakes that's 99% fondant icing with no actual substance to it. Yooka-Laylee is that cake made entirely out of fondant. Sure, it LOOKS really really nice, but a single slice will give you diabetes from it being all sugar and nothing else.

They copied all of the "ha-her-ha-her" chatter, they got the same composers to basically copy the same fucking soundtrack, everything about Banjo-Kazooie at a shallow, surface level is there. And that's all that's there. That shit was nice when it was complimented by a good fucking game, but this is just empty and boring, so all the things that people usually find charming (while playing a good game) become annoying or even obnoxious after thirty minutes here.
