It was fairly challenging, but not rage-inducing for me. High Road was far and away more infuriating.

City Trial. You could actually interect with other players, which was always fun, and it had some really neat events, like a UFO invasion or Dyna Blade showing up. Smash Tour's events were just stuff like "only this kind of enemy will spawn for 20 seconds" or "you're faster for a short amount of time"

The open world meme is literally the game's biggest, most essential flaw. It drained resources and hurt the experience massively.
Go back in time, make the world smaller, decrease the amount of MMO-style quests by 80%, funnel those resources into actually writing the third act and pacing acts one and two.

XV could have been good but the combat was a mess, the magic system near useless unless you want to repeatedly kill your friends, half it's story missing and an overall stank of "fuck it, just ship it already."

Their best game is Muramasa Rebirth. Dragon's Crown doesn't feel as good to play and Odin Sphere is way too drawn out. Replaying the same content five times is too much. Muramasa just works on every level.

Should have got the remaster on PS4/3/vita. It's objectively better.

Still a fucking great game, though. It's worth taking breaks between the character playthroughs, since they often take place in the same areas, even if the story and combat mechanics are completely different.
