Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Isaac Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, and Charles Darwin were all southpaws.
Eight U.S. presidents: James A. Garfield, Herbert Hoover, Harry S Truman, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Fully 25 percent of the Apollo astronauts were left-handed.
Gates, Winfrey, Jobs, Zuckerberg, etc.

Left-handed people make up ~10% of the population, but they are over-represented in areas of high IQ and achievement.

Is it possible that there are group differences in intelligence between left- and right-handed people?

I need help, last year I failed my algebra II class and I can only get my diploma over the summer if I take it online, and I had an awful attendance rate so I have no idea how to do this shit. Can anyone on this board help?

No, go study kid. fucking read the fucking textbook and stop coming on Cambodian coconut-hair weaving forums asking for math questions that 12 year olds can do. Fucking apply yourself

I was looking at the curriculum for Algebra II and it seems pretty fucking hard

I heard Artin's a good prof though, try retaking it with him

Listen to me here. The problem you posted is really easy. It is literally just asking you to add some fractions and then do a simply division.

You should see this, and if you can't then that means there is some underlying concept you are missing. Math is not voodoo magic. Everything is math is obvious. I suggest that you go back to Algebra I and learn the elementary concepts well because if you had these concepts well formed in your mind, you would be able to see how easy this problem is.

Is this a difficult book to start with?

Like, gameplay development or technology development? For example, I don't think someone coding a game's weapons or whatever are going to be using a lot of advanced math, but if you're developing technologies that all games use, such as rendering, low latency networking, physics and so on then yes, they are very math heavy.

What's the science behind breaking a sociopath? How do you turn him back into a normal person with shame, normal fears, normal behavior and a non selfish attitude.

It seems to be an epidemic with this new generation and it even affects the older generation from the 70s which were self-righteous assholes to begin with.

Normally being self-righteous is based on morality and standards, not degeneracy and how evil you are. But social justice warriors ended up swallowing their own lies and thought they're morally good.

>>9012172
that's like asking "what's the science behind personality". what we know is very limited. and what we know we cant really accurately manipulate (ethical reasons). If you're imagining a world where sociopaths are operated on surgically and come out of an operation non-sociopaths, you'll be waiting a while.

You can't break a sociopath, most of time time. They likely have some brain function alterations related to empathy, fear, and bonding. But I doubt the vast majority of SJWs fall into this zone. Some leaders, likely (as is the case for any political movement). Most of them are just addicted to group bonding in a cause, a common enough problem - in this case exacerbated by tremendous social reinforcement by mass media, propagated by international capital for their own ends.

Be honest /sci/ this isn't a board that's too self-depreciating.

have you guys noticed any effects of 4chan on your intellectual and emotional/social development, that is to say, knowledge base, ability to find patterns and confidence in self etc.

I'm talking about both, negative effects it has and positive effects.

After quitting 4chan entirely for a week my experience turned hell, because all the pain that I was keeping inside came flooding out with nothing for me to munch on, as a substitute for real thing. But it never really satisfies the urge.
I think everyone should do it, than come back here with a knowingness about how aware you need to be, and realize need for real human interaction. The world outside isn't so bad.

I know the last part is >>>/r9k/ but the paragraph above really does have sci value, eve if it's meme psychology within /sci/ context.

It's true actually, once you really long human connection you'll ignore people's flaws, I am saying this because when you say 'not good enough' and quit, you're running away from a battle. It's just that hard, but do it anyway. You only need a few good people in your life. There are plenty of smart people who didn't discover 4chan, is what I'm basically saying.

air is about 79% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, and 1% trace gases. does that mean that over 3/4 of the air we breathe does nothing for us? or does N have some beneficial effect we need to live?

if we lived in a 100% oxygen environment, could we take shallower/fewer breaths per minute and still live?

what about the trace gases, like Ar, Ne, He, etc. do they do anything for us, or could we live without them?

would a 100% oxygen atmosphere filter light differently, so maybe the sky would be some color besides blue?

also occurs to me a 100% oxygen atmosphere might make fires problematic.

comments?

Is this actually a good beginner's Chemistry book or is it just a meme?
I also have Chemistry: The Central Science. I can't decide which to start with. I am wanting to self-teach myself Chemistry for fun.

>self teach.
Despite all things people here call a meme, chemistry is something you can't teach yourself if you want to know more than just theory. See it like surgery or medicine.
>>
>>9009533
Well fuck.
I mean I DO want to know just the theory though I guess? I want to understand how things like Hydrogen Peroxide work, why Alcohol sterilizes things, why soda has all this shit in it and what those chemicals in it do, etc.

So would I be able to self teach myself all that? I don't want to become some fucking chemist and get a job in it I just want to expand my knowledge of how things generally work is all. Is that being a brainlet?
>>
>>9009525
All "beginner's" textbooks are mediocre. Brown and Zumdahl are the least mediocre but still mediocre. If you want a thorough introduction, go with Atkins or Oxtoby (maybe both for alternative explanations, you can find them easily online). Though they're harder, they're a notch above mediocre and will give you a solid foundation in general chemistry.

>>9009560
That kind of know-how is hard to teach in a book. A good textbook can you get you so far without you being inquisitive on your own.
