Let's be real, what's the reason why women are so utterly devoid of interests, hobbies and anything that could make them interesting?

Women are interesting. You're just bitter virgin who can't get any. Sad!

>>>/r9k/

every trait you inherit comes down to this: will it help you reproduce. for more men than women, it's yes. the drive to explore, to create etc, are things that attract women. not the other way around.

is there anything female that is interesting beyond motherhood?

literally everything else was invented by males.

Element abundance is mostly to do with atomic number and nuclear binding energy. More low atomic number elements because the universe started with only hydrogen. High binding energy because fusion will tend to go toward those targets. It also depends on chemical properties, so helium for instance has escaped the earth pretty easily.

Perhaps a better example is lithium: atomic number 3, but has about the same abundance as neodymium, because it has a very low nuclear binding energy.

Mathematician accepted the axiom of nothing which states that you can't know nothing.

We are back at the beginning. Last year some guy won a fields medal by proving that 1 exists and today mathematicians are trying to prove that 1+1=2

An object containing the mass of the entire universe would have an escape velocity much, MUCH higher than the speed of light.

Therefore a "big bang" could never have happened in the first place because the material being flung out would have to be moving faster than the speed of light to get dispersed.

Bazinga.

K. Not that you give a shit, but that isn't a claim that the Big Bang theory leads to. The point of the concept is to describe how space used to be tiny at one point and then got bigger. There was no explosion that had a point of origin.
>>
>>9084714
According to Wikipedia (fuck, got it in twice today) It was moving faster than light for its first few itty-bitty seconds. Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

“How the fuck I am going to explain the real truth about everyone’s feelings that they want to make the world a better place, and connect it to the fact that their mortal brain is simply functioning as an automatic response to their advanced brain?”

"EVERYONE is looking for understanding. We begin the quest for understanding the moment that we are born into a world where the answers to our deepest questions do not exist. The mortal experience, being a perfunctory dream response of our much more highly advanced brain, is ALWAYS GOING TO MAKE US FEEL LIKE WE NEED TO KNOW MORE THAN WHAT WE DO … than what we can … because our advanced brain knows a helluva lot more than our mortal brain does."

"Can you imagine a part of your brain that is not in line and doing what the rest of your brain wants it to do? Can you imagine the conundrum, not only mentally, but physically? WHAT A HEADACHE!

Hopefully, I am going to be able to explain why the mortal experience takes place in our advanced, eternal brains, how it takes place, and most importantly, the only way it can take place in order to properly perform the action that the rest of our eternal brain needs it to do.

Everything about fulfilling the needs and expectations of our advanced-brain, everything about the mental process that we perceive as the experience of mortal life, depends on the other people with whom we engage our minds so that the experience can take place. In other words, if we do not learn how to get along with each other and allow each person to pursue their mortal life the way that that individual wants, the mortal experience will ALWAYS end up the same way, with the same result, that it has throughout the history of this earth: in complete annihilation of the human race."

"(Really, all this means is that we “reset the game” and try again. Each time, taking with us knowledge and experience of how the other players play in order for us all to be able to play The Game of Mortal Life the way that it was setup to be played, the ONLY way that it can go on to provide our advanced, eternal brain with the experiences that it needs, for the reason it connects with other advanced humans during the process.)"

How much work would it take to transition to a Computer science masters after a bachelor in a completely unrelated field? Has anyone here done this?

Don't know how to code at all. Didn't have any significant amount of math in bachelor and don't remember jack shit from high school.

Where would I even start? I've seen people recommend the CS50 course from Harvard. I've also seen some Unis that offer transitional courses for people in my position but I don't think I'll be in a position to study in the UK specifically to take advantage of this.

Thanks lads

Business. The most math we did was basic stats which contains next to nothing that would be useful.

I know high school physics, and single variable calculus (more like basic differentiation and integration).

Can somebody give me a list of topics I should study in succession to be able to understand quantum physics?

I don't care if it takes 10 years..

As a fantasy writer, you often have to come up with silly names. I thought of taking the easy option and just making up a fake word to describe what is essentially a rock in the sky. (Al'kath, Ingindingo, Labolobodybobohsondingiebob) But then I thought, what would a scientist call this phenomenon, if it really existed?

So, I task you /sci/ with inventing a practical name for an isle that is suspended in the sky.

Take inspiration from a literal meaning, translated to Latin, or come up with a more scientific title. Go nuts!

Enjoy!

Uppy turfy.
Also, I don't know what world you live in where people would rather have some invariably cringeworthy new word when you could just say "sky island"
>>
>>9084646
What are big pieces of land in water formally called?
>island
>1590s, earlier yland (c. 1300), from Old English igland, iegland "an island," from ieg "island" (from Proto-Germanic *aujo "thing on the water," from PIE root *akwa- "water") + land (n.).
Then look up etymology of "sky" or something related.
>From Middle English sky, from Old Norse ský (“cloud”), from Proto-Germanic *skiwją, *skiwô (“cloud, cloud cover, haze”), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)kew- (“to cover, hide, cloud”).
Then make up something like "siiwland" by imitating the pronounciation or something.

Sage for not science.

It ends with .ru

People who deny the existence of (anthropogenic) climate change like to point out that CO2 emissions made by man are less than 1% of CO2 released by volcanoes and if that were true, it would more or less be the final nail in the coffin of man-made climate change. The fact of the matter is that the logic these people are employing is fine, it's just that their claim about volcanoes producing more CO2 than humans is simply incorrect! In other words their theory is fine but their data is way, way off.
What are some other examples of people misusing science that isn't pseudoscience, but rather dramatically misinterpreted or simply incorrect data?
