Welcome back to another Night Wave thread.
Recap of last week's events:
- The mini meet was a success, started at around 8PM and lasted till 2AM.
We met up at Starbucks and went straight to K1 Speed.
Decided to do 20 laps of the cloverleaf on memorial drive, kept going faster and faster each time.
Finished off with a aesthetic shot at House of Pies
- Two new videos are out, one as a detailing demo and the other of unboxing the new turbo for the 335i.
A two part series will be released, going into details of the single turbo swap, part 1 should be out in a few days.
- A 7's day event just happened last Friday, free rotary goodies were given out.
- There is some interest from a few members concerning the LeMons race,
it will be placed at MSR Houston. Event will take place in November, maybe one day we can have our car there.
Most of the cost is for the safety regulations, suits, equipment, roll cage, etc. If anyone is serious about that,
go check that out in November with others.
- European meet got cancelled on the last few days, but another one is in the works.
If you're interested in windshield banners, contact Dagumi or post in this thread with your car.
We have a few people interested but need a close estimate.
Another short run of the original Night Wave decals can be made if enough people are interested.

Who here washes their own car? Fags that take their cars to the self service with the brushes that scratch the clear coat need not apply here.
>>17566301
I wash my own car, but my dad takes it to get gas and then uses their brushes sometimes to "clean it" and I get it home and it's all sorts of scratched.
Oh well.
That's a nice job you have though, no chips, is it PPFed? I'm planning to PPF my entire car when I get the next one.
>>17566341
It has a few chips but I plan to get them touched up and I'm going to throw the 3M clear bra on it.
>>17566301
>"their own" "car"
>posts a brick that he doesn't even own and has so many safety features that it essentially drives himself
Miata or MR2? Also are either even fun to drive or is it just a big inside joke? They have like same horsepower as my turbo'd Suzuki orv I ride at the dunes
>>17565657
Whichever one you can get a better deal on
>>17565657
stock v stock i'd take an mr2
if you plan on modding get a miata unless you want the first thing you do to be an engine swap.
Boxster
What are some things I should know about these? A lot of them listed are rusted or have problems. Some of them are listed as good but the prices people list tend to be all over the place. I saw one deal that looked good but for the same price I saw a rusted, dented one. Both around 6Gs. If anyone knows anything about YJs any advice is appreciated.
I was in the same place as you about 5 years ago. Looked at YJs and TJs.
They are ALL rusty as fuck, especially under the carpets. The one in your picture has plus-size wheels/tires, which means they DEFINITELY rub when the vehicle is turned. Those things will be scraping the inside of the fenders for sure.
They're not overly reliable, and build quality is quite poor. The interior uses the cheapest, most brittle plastics. The seats are made with cheap foam that bottoms out after a few years of use.
The joints/hinges all rust and split. The rear tailgate has weatherstripping held on with GLUE, but the metal behind it rusts and the weight of the weatherstripping pulls the metal away each time you open the tailgate. You won't get a proper seal, and it will continue to rust from the inside out.
Taking the fibreglass top off is harder than it looks (without damaging it). They're terrible in the winter because the HVAC is shit and they don't retain any heat.
The 4 cylinder is insanely gutless and disappointing. The manual trannies are known to destroy clutch discs without reason or warning (probably cheap pressure plates not releasing properly).
Overall they are a BAD purchase for a first car, even though they look cool. Be smart, buy something like a small car and maintain it. You can probably find something that was hardly driven, being sold by a senior or their kids. That's where I got my first car, and it was great. It was a Mazda3 GT.
When the mileage on a YJ/TJ gets over 120,000, they will start to nickel-and-dime you with repairs. Might not be $1,000 at once, but several small, irritating things will start to add up.
YJs/TJs are only good as a secondary vehicle, and only if you've taken the time to clean out all the rust, lift them with a proper offset/spacers to prevent rubbing, replace the stock sound system, and buy an aftermarket soft-top that will seal out rain (stock ones are SHIT). Then only drive it in the summer to impress QTs.

Thanks, how about an XJ then? I plan on using an SUV for work purposes so a car is kind of out of the question. A wrangler was as small as I'm willing to go since it is also tall. I'm pretty interested in 90s SUVs since they are more rugged and easier to work on.
>>17565541
The answer to your question is a 1991 Ford Bronco.
Picture is not actually MY car, but it's the same model and everything. It is dying. I wanted your guys' opinion I guess on what cars I should be looking at.
A Dacia for 10k.
>>17565124
I should say I live in America, not sure if I can get that one here.
>>17565116
Toyota corolla iM. Starts at 18k msrp. Goes from a to b comfortably, good has mileage, and good reliability. Coworker just got one and I was pretty impressed for what it is.
"Great car isn't it!? Wow it really suits you! Would you like paint protection rolled into your 4.9% 7 year finance offer for only $10 extra a week!?"
How about no
>>17561893
"Sir, i just got off the phone with my manager, and we can do an amazing deal for you that beats that $10 weekly offer over the life of the loan, we can do $9.99 today only"
>>17561903
Well...I guess...

Post images or ideas of things that you would like to see as a standard feature on all cars.
>cup/container holder in front of an A/C vent
>Not just slamming your drink behind the rear passenger seat so it can warm up but definitely not come loose during driving.
Fuck it, I'll risk the flame war.
Anyone else think parking brake levers are gay as fuck?
It feels like yanking a rock hard dick up in the air every time you want to park up. Buttons are superior.
