Been going back and forth on these two for over 3 months while saving up the cash for a new set of wheels. Well, looking at 2014-2015 with <30k miles CPO, but new to me. Just having trouble deciding which one. Must have test driven both 5 or so times now.
Civic handles so much better, drives smoother, but the little MPH thing above the dash is hidden by the top of the steering wheel when set to where I find the steering wheel comfortable. Corolla is like driving a toaster, or perhaps windows xp. It works, it is stable, drives less admirably but muh Toyota reliability, and the interior/dash setup is a little more comfortable to look at, despite the shitty touch pad that drives me nuts.
Leaning towards the Civic most times, but I'm having trouble making up my mind. Can you guys sway my opinion one way and the other?
Civic I drove as well, little more roomy, I liked the V6 but it still drives like an appliance more than a car. Also wasn't worthwhile, I'd buy a sports car if I gave a shit about acceleration.

Eh? I haven't noticed the handling to be THAT bad. Yeah, you have to turn the wheel a lot for any hope of taking a turn fast, but it handles fine to me. Though the understeer it has with my staggered setup is mildly annoying when I want to throw my mates around in the back.

I lost a good screw today. He was a 1" self drilling, panhead screw. Phillips head. He was lost in a valiant effort to hold my air box closed after the OEM clip broke due to rust. One second he was there, drilling into the plastic of the rim the air box. The next second he was rumbling down the side of the shock tower. I thought I heard him hit the ground, but maybe it was my imagination. I searched for him. I swept my magnet on a stick in the area where he fell. He just... wasn't there. It kills me that mom and pop back in the coffee can don't get their boy back...even if it was the stripped out, crossthreaded corpse of him they would know he died bravely. But now they just have my word, and an empty coffin.
I will mourn for you, self drilling screw.
