Think a blueprint engine company could use that to build it?
How does /o/ feel about Saab?
I know they're front wheel drive but you can get some that push a lot of power. The model years from 1998-2002 all have common motors B205 or B235 series. The reason why they got such a bad rep was because they recommended oil changes at 15,000 mile intervals with a TD04 turbo and a very hot downpipe going under the oil pan. After that huge BS and people fought with Saab for new motors claims and getting denied for doing the oil themselves(no paperwork), GM bought them. Typically anything after 2002 will have a lot more GM to it... The 2002-2005ish might have similar motors but they will lack powerful turbos (unless you can find an Aero model).
Most of the parts on my car are Bosch like any other Euro car. The motor sounds great since they are either 2.0DOHC or 2.3DOHC. There are tons of bolt-ons and mine for example is a sleeper. I added a 3" downpipe/flex pipe with race cat to stock exhaust(2.5 I think on 9-3 2002 SE models), steering rack brace, 6-point subframe, and a 22mm rear ARB. The Trionic Tuning software and shit for the car is great too. Junkyards also have gracious amounts of these cars, but thankfully there are a lot of bolt ons.
The car is unbelievable for under $4500 (I had to replace the front tires, rotors, A/C clutch and bearing, and alternator), and I really don't understand why more people don't have them. I know they are front wheel drive but damn I got heated seats, amplified stock door speakers, air vent for rear passengers, a HUGE ass hatch trunk, and some really good safety ratings. I have 85K on the odometer now and the exterior could see better days. It is rust free though thankfully because mom/grandma kept it in the garage other than highway trips.
I feel like if you update the used cars guide /o/ should put my type of car on there.
My car is an automatic but I am willing to work with anyone with a 1998-2002 Saab and maybe trade them a tuned ecu for a stock ecu ($20 at some junkyards). Can do it for all cars that are T7. Mine went from 205HP to 225ish. If you buy these $50 adapters people sell you can hard wire it into your ECU box and run a USB extention to your glove box( i did ).
If I do a fuel injector upgrade or do a E85 biopower tune I am afraid of killing my fuel pump. If I kill it I have an excuse to drop in a walborogh 255 or some shit. Go for some 630cc injectors I believe. Then I could go up to 280~ safely. I don't think my transmission would like the torque though.
This is a picture from my car when I bought it <3
My car didn't have PVC fix #7 but it also didn't burn oil too bad because grandma/mom highway travel. I installed it right away. It's basically a bigger oil catch can and different breather routing (it comes with tubes).
Why the FUCK does my car make the same beeping noise a fucking truck makes when it's reversing?
Jesus fucking Christ it is annoying.
turn engine off
engage parking brake
put in R
move around and find the beeper and cut the wire
>>16855429
Because you drive a tiny shitbox that would crumple into dust if you bumped into a mailbox. It's for your own safety.
>>16855446
Even if there is literally nothing behind the car, the fucking thing is beeping its ass off.

As with all things, people will forget about it in a month or so and it'll go on like it was before.
I am turning 20 next month and I do not have my licence. Is driving really that bad?
>>16855411
Driving is easy, where do u live?
>>16855417
Texas. I'm kind of scared because there are so many roads where I live that are very easy to go fast on and dying in a car crash is not how I want to go.

Grow some fucking testicles. This is why everyone looks down upon our generation
Has Dodge EVER made a vehicle that was considered better (I know this is somewhat subjective) that the equivalent Ford/Chevy offering? It seems like they have been third fiddle of the American manufacturers since always.
>>16855390
>equivalent
snek
>>16855390
Yes.
They made quite a few of those cars in the 'twixt-war years and mid-20th century. They also popularized the minivan and pickup as more than just a work vehicle.
What are your thoughts on this design?
shit

SHOULD BE COLUMN MOUNTED
It's an american design.
The buttons have to be big enough for fat obese fingers, it's a fatty design.

can I fit?
>if you're under 7'2" and aren't overweight you can fit without modification
can I daily drive one?
>yes most people can daily drive a miata no problem. I have commuted in miatas for well over 40 years now
even in the snow?
>yes miatas can drive well in the snow.
Hey faggots, I got two questions for you:
1. If I want to paint my valve cover, do I need to drain the vehicle of oil first?
2. What is the correct way to remove the oil filter? I can JUST barely access it using my left hand but it's screwed on too tight or seized to be removed by hand strength alone and I am decently strong. I can get my right hand down there but because of the angle I can't get any leverage
Can I access it from underneath the car somehow or what should I do
>>16855335
1. no
2. try wearing a rubber glove, it's helped me remove them before. If that doest work buy an oil filter removal strap (pic related)
>>16855335
Turn the wheels all the way to the left and you'll have plenty of room to reach up and get the filter off. Then it's all a matter of hoping and praying the filter wasn't tightened down to all hell.
I always lock my car from the inside. Is that dangerous if I happen to be in a car crash? Do the car doors unlock when the car crashes so other people can drag my dying ass out of the vehicle? Or am I locked inside a burning metal cage until emergency services arrive?
>>16855276
If you are lucid and the car is on fire, you will find a way out. If you are knocked out, you better hope the windows broke or that bystanders have the presents of mind to break a window to get you out.
>>16855276
I guess doors should unlock if emergency fuel cut or airbags deploy on modern cars
on older ones, you're dead
Also get a diesel, petrol will start fires
>>16855276
>Do the car doors unlock when the car crashes
They stay locked because the first crash doesn't mean that is the end of the crashing. If you are rolling down a hillside, you want the doors to remain locked. Otherwise, the latch might release and part of you hangs out the opening due to the seatbelt holding part of your body inside. The rocks then gouge whatever is sticking out or even cut it off. Or the car rolls over on what is sticking out. Or both things happen.
When the air bag computers fire, they should cut the engine off via the main computer.

I had my driving test today
and i failed I didnt make any mistakes
Wanna know why i failed then ?
the cop said
"you were too careful not to hit anyone around crosswalks"
I was too careful
>TOO CAREFUL
How in the holy hell can someone fail because they were "too careful not to hit anyone"
Do you guys have any advice on what to do when i try the test again ?
I dont think ive ever been this angry

Cops give driving test? What communist authoritarian shithole do you come from anon?
>>16854987
Maybe he worded it poorly and meant you had 0 confidence and lost your nerve coming around pedestrian crossings.
There's being safe, and there's being scared. I dunno, I wasn't there I can't say with sureness but you should have asked them to clarify it at the time.

i know cops here are dicks when it comes to driving courses
Hey doods
Replacing the timing belt on my shitbox, turns out I can't get the pulley for the crankshaft off, and I need an impact wrench. I'm poor as shit, and found a "12v impact wrench" listed for $25. Would this have enough torque? I don't have the cash to invest in an air compressor. Is it even worth buying?
Pic related.

It was going to be do/o/ds, but it looked retarded.
>>16854915

How so? Have you tried with a breaker bar?
Why do all the modern, futuristic, electrical cars have to look so... ugly?
this
i can't get behind EV and be a tesla fanboy like everyone else because they look ridiculous, like sterile soapbars with the curves of a bathtub.
once they make another roadster or something like that i'll be on board

If you look at something like an old Range Rover for example, these cars had character. It seems the more we advance in technology, the more cars start looking the same. Like round blobs with too many buttons everywhere.
They are trying to be unconventional to establish a recognizable style for their differentiated brand.
What are the easiest/cheapest modifications that can be made to increase the power of an N/A car?
By cheap I'm talking like a couple hundred dollars at the most. By easy I'm talking easy enough for possibly a retard like me to be able to manage.
>>16854723
a tune/fuel map change. when I was a dumbass kid I added a specific resistor in series with my timing senor so it would advance by a few degrees. It added some power in the winter, but during the Texas heat all this retard got was engine knock,
>>16854723
camshafts, displacement, valves, fuel injectors, exaust, clutch, whyfeel, pistons.
Its not like you even play forza

Is it worth adding a turbo to my non-turbo car, or replacing the engine with a 2JZ?
depends on the car/engine
some are easier to turbo than others. so some can be done cheap and be fine, while others you need to do it with certain pricey bits or it blows
figure that out and you'll know if 2j could be more or less expensive
both
>>16854704
You can buy a new car with a turbo for the money it takes to properly add a turbo to your car
