I'm copy-editing/proofreading a tabletop RPG book for a friend, and I'm not sure if a grammar construct he's using is correct.

If I remember correctly, each noun in a list like this should have a comma after it, with the article "and" or phrase "as well as" at the end of the list. My current correction reads like this:

First read The Last Wish then Sword of Destiny then stop, it's not worth reading any further trust me. The drop off in quality is made very apparent in the other Witcher books.

How much time does it take for a diligent native romance language speaker (french in my case) to be fluent in Latin, say to be able to read Lucretius or Horace, or Virgil? How much for ancient greek (Homer and Pindar's)? Is it possible to get to a level comparable to the classicists by self-studying?

I'm looking for a fairy tale my parents read to me when I was young to read it to my own children in the near future. However, it seems its quite unknown. Unfortunately I do not remember all the details. Its name should be "The 49 Warriors and the Turtle". It could be of indian origin and is a beautiful allegory for mankinds interaction with nature. I translated the title from german, so I may got the translation wrong. Any ideas?
