I am looking for a good quick detach flip to side mount for my 3x magnifier. Are Samson mounts any good? If no, what mount should I get.
>It needs to be quick detach.
Just got a bsa scope for my 392 and the rings that come with the scope dont spread wide enough (at the bottom) to fit over the ends of the venturi intermount i have. What rings do i need to buy to fit over the intermount rail? Any help mucho mucho appreciated.
As engineering advances, would we be able to use seismic sensors (the ones you see in landmines) and hook them to screens/goggles so we detect enemy footsteps and positions?

Calling Wayne Enterprises
I'll let you know what I find out when they return my call
>>34264050
maybe sound but seismic means shit like earthquakes and shit. So you have to stick a fucking spike in the ground to see.
just imagine spec ops with fucking spikes googles.

U R dumb
I want to buy a BUM Recce 16 from my local gun store. Before you say anything, I've already built a number of ARs and I want to see what BCM is like compared to some of the other guns I've put together. Plus I know it'll be easy to sell if I don't like it. However, apparently BCM only uses KeyMod for their handguards. I have never used KeyMod before, only M-Lok.
I've seen the studies saying M-Lok is better and I'm inclined to believe that this is true. However, is KeyMod "good enough?" Is it solid enough to hold up for the average shooting chump?
>>34263971
Always MLOK. More widespread use, looks cleaner. Both systems work but dickmod is just fuck ugly
>>34263971
>Is it solid enough to hold up for the average shooting chump?
Yes. Especially if you aren't mounting lasers or optics with keymod, which I don't know why you would in the first place.
So, yes.
>>34264014
>keymod keypad is fuck ugly
Never understood this. To me keymod looks like a heatshield. Mlok, in my opinion, looks flimsy. Even though I know it's not, I've seen the studies.
I have this bowie knife that my grandfather gave me. It has mostly minor pitting all along the blade that doesn't compromise its strength and still has most of its polished finish. (Take note that I have already removed the major amount of rust I found on it.) On the last fourth of the blade there is an otherwise minor bit of pitting. However, in the center of this, there is a very small hole going all the way through the steel. Is there some way I can have this filled with more metal? If it would ruin the temper, then tell me what you guys would suggest. (picture is my knife.)
>>34263902
two options anon. just rub the blade down with some light machine oil to inhibit further rust.
Or if you really feel the need to remove that, use addative manufacturing. Probably pay someone a lot to drill, fill with weld, and then recarburize and heat treat the entire thing.
Picture of entire knife please.

This is the knife. It is thirteen inches in its entirety. The Handle is imitation antler/horn/I don't know. Sorry for no high resolution pic. I don't have access to a higher resolution cam right now.
Are hard cast lead bullets in calibers like 9x18, .380 and .38 Special any good?
>>34263891
>good?
good for what ?
lead bullets make barrels difficult to clean if fired too fast
>>34263891
Old tech, but still works. The idea is to get deep enough penetration to hit something important. Shot placement and penetration are more important than magic bullet design.
>>34264423
>Shot placement and penetration are more important than magic bullet design.
This, so much this.
>>34263891
I personally can't see the point. In the mousegun calibers, hard-cast lead isn't going to give you anything that JHP isn't already giving you, except more lead fouling in your bore.
Hey /k/
S&W is still running rebates on new handguns(Shield, Bodyguard, SD/SDVE) for up to $75 back.
Is it worth it?
>>34263878
The M&P Shields are pretty solid single-stacks.
A buddy of mine cc's one which he swears by and when he let me fire it at the range, it was a decent shoot.
>>34265131
>Pretty solid
nah, they're shit. They jam when they get wet, they been having issues now with the rifling being stripped away after shooting a few boxes of ammo.
OP, even scrubbed the shit out of it with a wire brush and cleaner, so it truly wasn't just build up. Great thread that was.
>>34263878
I recommend the Shield 9, I carry one daily and shoot it enough that I have a total of 12 mags for it.
I'm turning 21 at the end of June and I want to buy my first gun for pocket carry.
Where should I go to get the best deal? Online has transfer fees and shipping, right? Just wondering if there's a best/cheapest method
>>34263799
ordering a gun from out of state has FFL transfer, shipping fees & state taxes
almost always cheaper to buy locally
use google search for - gun stores near me
pick 1 gun & see what they charge
>>34263811
Thank you. That's kind of what I was thinking. I'll do that.
"so as you may or may not know, MOST pistols utilize a browning style design... meaning that the barrel actually moves
Modern suppressors utilize something called a booster (also called a nielson device). It's basically a little spring that lets the barrel move freely inside the suppressor, because if the barrel doesn't move, the pistol won't cycle.
Despite the booster, the overall weight of the suppressor plays a part. I personally bought a Mystic-X silencer, which is pretty heavy. Even with the booster lubed up I was getting reliability issues. Glocks, like most other pistols, have a recoil spring inside. If you get a weaker one, more of the gun's recoil impulse goes into moving the heavy suppressor, which fixes the problem."
What did he mean?
>>34263631
>glock
>suppressor
>light recoil spring
He like frame cracks.
I know its pretty subjective, but what is your favorite pistola?
Of all weapons its obv the stg44. But im talking hanguns here.
>>34263530
Thats not a gun, thats a banana!
I went to a liberal arts college u cant fool me with that shit.
>>34263695
you got me.
heres a real one.
what happens to the iss and nasa if there is a war between russia china and usa??
>>34263118
The crew will eventually die, and then.... HAUNTED SPACE STATION!!!
This will spawn countless /k/ threads about proton packs, including:
>PARTICLE THROWER GENERAL: TRIPFAG CONTAINMENT
and
>What cyclotron is best for free-forming vapors?
and
>Patch Thread! Ghost patch anyone? Pls respond...
and
>Are positron colliders a meme?
Should be a good time.

>>34263118
i was asking as most of the folks up there seem to be ether air force people or military if was a place of peace then it would be akward as fuck to work with each other
>>34263118
not a specialist but id say either it would be continousely supplied from all the countrys that are involved in the iss or the people would be brought back from someone
honestly i don't think somebody would die up there
and even if all the nations involved would abandon the people up there, i believe they got 2 sojus capsules up there they could use to reenter the atmosphere any time
I'm building a .300 Blackout SBR with this upper

I can get a GREAT deal on a Titan-QD Fast-Attach suppressor. Will it work?
Apologies for the obvious ignorance. I'm new to the class 3 game.
No. According to ACCs website that can is 1.8 inches in diameter. The outside of that rail is 1.6 something. Plus you want an adjustable gas block if you plan to use it with and with a suppressor...or just build a blow back.
wat did u say u bastard bitch
thanks lori

See that war zone? You can go there.
How many Russians does it take to design a weapon?
0.
However, it takes at least one to copy a pre-existing design, tweak it, and claim it as their own.
As much as I despise filthy russian scum, and though I agree with you that they are masters at stealing & copying, they are fully capable to ocasionally design oryginal, groundbraking weaponry.
They later often murder the genious designer, but still.

I read a very detailed article on soviet works on rocket artillery in 20-30's. It's a tale of impressive, revolutionary ingenuity, mixed with typical russian mess & mass executions of said genious, innovative designers.
Ah, I almost forgot - op is a fag.
/nogunz/ here looking to get a fire arm. I'm confused about different classification of rifles. For instance, what is a "manually loaded centre fire rifle"? Does that mean you have to place every individual round into the chamber or can it be magazine fed as long as you charge the bolt to feed a round into the chamber? Looked online but can't find any answers.
>>34262630
Manually loaded means you need to jerk a bolt manually after every shot, it also called bolt action rifle. Centre fire means it uses centrefire cartridge with primer in the center of the shell.
>>34262698
Yeah I understood the centre fire part, when I was in the cadets (UK) I got to shoot loads of funs but now that I'm 18 I'm /nogunz/ again. Cheers for the answer tho
>>34262716
>UK
Oh boy... You should move to America if you really want to be /hazgunz/, bro. UK gun laws are most terrible on the whole planet.
