What does /g/ think about toughbooks?
Also toughbook general, I guess
>>59613310
WTF is that. Are you going to type up papers in the Amazon, anon? If not don't get one of those.
I kind of want to get one, but they're expensive for a poorfag like me
>>59613310
My father's an engineer at a shipyard, a rudder specialist and he has one of these. He says he hates carrying it around, but because of its expandability he likes it. However, when he's back in his apartment, he doesn't touch it.
It's big, it's clunky and great looking, but apart from that, it's nothing special.
>>59613488
They're relatively cheap second hand, Anon.
What would it take to implement this?
What are you on about Anon?
>>59613305
embedding mpv into the browser for more stable, less resource intensive, better optimized, less corporate DRM-y, etc. youtube playback.
>>59613294
but you can already play every youtube video in mpv
IOS vs Android
>>59613232
Neither now fuck off
>>59613254
Why do you say that? Do you prefer another OS?
>>59613232
oh boi here we go agian
You can only post ITT if you have AT LEAST 100 commits in the past year on your github profile.

keep up the uncompensated work
>>59613171
Explain what a "commit" is for the ones that aren't cucked into codemonkeying for free on a shitty social network.
I do it because I have NO FUCKING LIFE
please send help or job offers

Stop shitposting for a moment and take a look at this. VRfags, are you excited at all? This extension of Live2D looks neat.
>>59613164
looks fucking cool but it's like overcomplicating a task already complex like 3D modelling.
they are japs so I guess it's ok for them to overwork something.
>>59613164
It's okay but there wasn't a single Somalian refugee.
I think Japan needs more diversity
>>59613164
Is it just me, or does anyone else get an instant headache when they put on an VR?
Can the 'Razer's mice are soooo good!' /g/ meme die already?
don't know how to read that
g502 > chroma > zowie ?
>>59613204
g403 is the best mouse ever made and the wireless one is still better than almost every other mouse
>>59613126
Razer mice have always been mediocre at best, there has never been a meme claiming any superiority by them. Take your shitty memes back to

Where are the best places to talk engineering online?
I want to make a list of must have engineering books.
No1 Machinery's Handbook
No2 Cameron Hydraulic Data

No3 bosch automotive handbook
would you kindly specify, why they are great ?
is this botnet?
>>59613052

this post is just a bunch of buzzwords
I just found a Gateway M675 laptop, Dell OptiPlex GX280 and E196FPba LCD, couple old keyboards, and some mice. What should I do with this stuff? Are the computers still usable for anything in the realm of basic uni work? Could the laptop be made into a shitpost machine?
Drop them onto cars from an overpass
>>59613046
The Dell GX280 could run XP or a light Linux distro if it has enough RAM. It will also heat your room up a bit.
>>59613486
So the Gateway pretty much useless? They've both got about the same amount of RAM which isn't much. I might just end up turning them into seedboxes. I do have some cash on hand and not a lot of experience working with electronics, so maybe this is an opportunity to learn by tinkering with the GX280.
Electron vs C#
Hello guys.. Good evening.
Well... I'm building an app, and I'd like to know
your opinion.. should I go with Electron (io) or
C#?
A little background: This app will make several
intereactions with the OS (per se, like save files,
create local directories and so on..), and will
make a few calls to some database (I will make a
login form and retrieve ome public info - such as
name, preferences and stuffs like that).
I know that I can make all this with C# (with some
libraries) and Electron (with Node.js).
Have said that, I'm kind familiar with c#, and,
naturally, familiar with HTML/CSS/JS (wich made the
Electron Io base)...
So, what you guys think?
Ps.: I know this is 4chan... but I hope get some
honestly opinions :)
>>59613045
C++
>>59613056
That's a good one.. You think I can have a good UI with?

Sent in 390x DC3 after black screen at driver install issue. https://community.amd.com/thread/204651
Asus says it's borked, wants to send me strix rx480/8. performance is close and it has lower consumption but I feel like I'm being shafted a bit as this card was much more expensive new and isn't the 480 the 380 equivalent?
what do.
480 is as fast as a 390 with half the cores.
That's why it's kind of a raw deal that it's cheaper.
I say do it unless they are offering an alternative.
But it's not new anymore, and AMD doesn't have anything to compete at higher price points. If you want something of the same original value, try to get them to send you an Nvidia card instead.
>>59613054
Not quite as fast, my friend has a PC 480/8. If it's all I can get I'll take it though. Something is better than nothing or I could prob sell for $200 NIB and put it towards a 1070
>>59613089
I do understand that depriciation and all, I was just wondering if I could get something better. I didn't even think ablout getting a Nvidia replacement. thanks anon
I found a Craiglist seller selling a Macintosh Plus 1MB with
-Hard Drive w/ OS Installed
-Keyboard
-Mouse
-Original manuals and Install disks
Is $100 a good deal for this? It's completely functional, and i've been looking for a retro Macintosh for a while
>>59612939
At the very least you can pass it on for a profit
i woudlnt pay more than $20 for it
Absolutely yes
What causes this to happen?
Mesh Extrusion on the model texture
nightmares leaking into our dimension
>>59612894
It looks like the face is a height map and the samples just got totally corrupted
this can be triggered by some kind of race condition or buffer overflow. It probably just comes down to shitty programming and unlikely events
So somebody probably didn't check the return value of malloc
Is it hard? I was supposed to take it a year ago and I haven't really studied...
>>59612844
as long as you manage to install gentoo, you should be fine..
Okay, this year's test is supposedly all wireless. This is different from tests of years past that had a focus on telecom. Make sure that you know your 802.11 standards down pat, and that you have a firm understanding of subnetting. As long as you know that and some basic port numbers you should pass. Good luck my guy.
>>59612844
i didn't study for it. was ezpz.
What programs/interactive games made your childhood more enjoyable?
>pic related
Dransik / Ashen Empires before that shitty patch that ruined the game. :'(
>>59612833
When I was young, I enjoyed everything except education-based games.
Edu-games are all designed horrendously bad, and you will never unlock your potentialplaying those. I think I learned more about economy, society, betrayal, lust, gardening, treespotting, fishing, smithing and herbology by playing runescape. That game was magical 14 years ago, but you newfags won't understand.
You fags won't know how it feels to have your heart pounding while you try to escape a fireblast mage deep in the wilderniss, knowing that every step might very well be your last step. Risking it all.
>>59613170
I feel you anon. I played runescape about 10 years ago, it was really a great experience back then.
