/g/ I really need your help.

I was trying to upgrade my ThinkPad W520's CPU and when I was dusting the components some of the liquid from my can of compressed air shot into the CPU socket.

Is the ThinkPad fucked? When I try power it on (with and without a CPU) the power light blinks briefly and then nothing. Plz halp.

Im a complete noob when it comes to PC building as i have never built one in my life and have only had one desktop which was virus ridden e-machines 10 years ago, so ive decided to go on pc part picker and put this crapshow together, i just wanted the harsh feedback of 4chan to truthfully let me know if this is a pathetic build i shouldnt bother with or if i should go ahead with it.

I should also note that im also on a budget of around $600-$700

Anyway here it is, r8 pls

dont get a seagate hard drive and get i5 7500 instead of 6500
>>
Get the Kaby Lake i5 7500 instead, the one you chose is more expensive for no apparent reason. You don't really need a CPU cooler if you have a non overclockable CPU and the RX480 8GB is better value than the 1060 6GB. Getting a small SSD to install your OS on is also strongly recommended and will give you the most noticeable bump in performance. Your PSU is also kinda overkill but it doesn't really matter, especially not if you want to keep it for future builds.
>>
>>59616732
And also, you need a B250 chipset motherboard if you get a Kaby Lake CPU, otherwise you're going to need a Skylake CPU to update the BIOS on a B150 motherboard.

Where can I legitimately acquire an iso of Windows 10 LTSB? How do I go about purchasing a license? Am I entitled to this if I am an ordained minister? How do I become a member of MSDN/TechNet?

>new balance master race

I just searched through MicroSoft looking to buy Win10 LTSB; visiting their volume licensing pages, I was asked to take a survey later -- sure, why not?

>tell them i was there for 'ltsb'
>give all worst marks for each grading category of user experience on site
>write 'ltsb' under 'other'
>describe visit:
>I require Win10 LTSB (2016/'17), but there does not appear to be a simple means by which to purchase this, *ahem* "non-botnet" version of Windows 10 from your site. I would like to use Windows 10, but my company cannot use any operating system with such tracking or telemetry features as Cortana. We currently use a proprietary GNU/Linux distribution which suits our needs, but it would be nice to run Windows without the features which our business neither utilizes nor allows. I merely want to purchase Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB for my very small company; please sell me a volume license key or whatever's required and a link to an .ISO. Kind regards. [email protected]

...they immediately hit me back with this (scripted pagethrow):

I know this is probably a dumb question but I need to ask it.

I just bought new PC parts. I was installing the CPU, and CPU cooler whenever I thought I put it on upside down so I reseated it.

I never turned on the PC at all, and I'm just kind of wondering if I should reapply paste or if it'll be fine since I never turned it on after doing this, any help would be appreciated.

>“It is actually a funny story,” writes user Tangoshukudai. “When they were prototyping the iPad, they ported the iOS calc over, but it was just stretched to fit the screen. It was there all the way from the beginning of the prototypes and was just assumed by everyone at apple that it was going to be shipped that way.

>A month before the release, Steve Jobs calls Scott Forstall into his office and says to him, “where is the new design for the calculator? This looks awful.” He said, “what new design?” This is what we are shipping with. Steve said, “no, pull it we can’t ship that.” Scott fought for it to stay in, but he knew he had to get their UI team involved to design a new look for the calculator but there was no way they could do it in that short time frame, so they just scrapped it.

>It has been such low priority since then that no one cares to work on it since there is more important things to work on.”

Jobs died 6 years ago yet Apple still didn't bother to bring the default calculator app to iPad.

I don't think you have to cast malloc calls. It returns a void ptr and that's implicitly cast.
>>
>>59616401
For C compilers you don't. For C++ you do. That's actually one of the major differences between them. If you want to write C code that you want to have an easy time of converting to C++ later, you should use it.

Visual voicemail is an Apple feature.
To get to your voicemail press and hold 1 on your dial pad.
>business in jeopardy
You're doing something wrong if something as unimportant as accessing your voicemails is getting you endangered.
Now shoo, and never return.
>>
>>59615988
>Visual voicemail is an Apple feature.
GTFO shill.

I have an S7 Edge on T-Mobile and have visual voicemail and voicemail to text with options to send me the recordings or transcriptions as email or SMS in addition to getting them in the app. I can also save voicemails to files and copy them to my PC.

It's carrier dependent though. If your carrier doesn't have visual voicemail available, you're stuck with holding 1.
