>Why Competitive Programming
It is fun, challenging and can greatly improve your algorithmic, optimization and general language skills.
There are numerous contests organized, with many having prizes.
Knowing Competitive Programming can greatly help you in job interviews.
Share resources, must-solve and interesting problems, language-specific tip and tricks, or whatever comes to your mind!

Underrated thread
>>60003841
I used to participate in a lot of contests (Mainly in my country) and got a lot of benefits from that such as instant admission to any university in my country and scholarships. Being able to solve complicated problems, landing a job in any major CS company is piece of cake. Though I don't do it anymore because it doesn't pay off in college.
Post your small questions that don't deserve to push another thread off the board here.

This is fine.

This isn't a compiler bug. The description seems to blame the compiler even as it acknowledges that it's a bug in the application.
If you add an unsigned integer to a pointer, of course the result isn't less than the original pointer. So the check isn't needed and the compiler correctly omits it.

Why is Kubuntu so hated? People tell me to start with an Ubuntu distro and I like KDE the most so it seems the perfect fit for me.
>>60003002
I think Kubuntu is disliked because its name starts with a hard consonant. Its the same sound that starts crap, cuck, cockroach, and colon.
Contrast this with Ubuntu. Whether you pronounce the first syllable as "uhh" or "oooh", it sounds softer .. happier .. like looking a pretty fireworks and going, "Ooooh, ahhhhh!"
There you go.

Is there a huge difference between a standard cooler that you'd get with a new processor or a master cooler like I just installed the other day?
Pic related, it's the cooler I had put into my PC
>>60002893
Yes.
>>60002893
There is indeed a huge difference. Look up a review of Hyper 212 Evo that compares it to a stock cooler under load.

I dont come here that often but I need some guidance on a project. Im trying to create a server to hold a compilation of all my movies, pics, infographics, all of wikipedia, pepes, etc. Essentially I want me and a few whitelisted IPs to be able to access it and download and upload as we please from where we please.
I'm willing to do it all by myself but im balls at encryption/security.
What do you guys think?
Have any of you attempted something like this before?
Pic not particularly related
bamp
This is most definitely Googleable.
>>60003396
Google only recommends me GUI heavy apps. Im putting this all on a headless and would rather it be low key, secure, and rely mostly on my own resources. I feel like with the craze of preparing for the (((collapse))) there must be others out there working on similar projects.

Windows Cloud will be here soon. They're still doing this shit where it can only run """""Apps""""" off the Microsoft Store. It's an attempt to compete with ChromeOS, but it will still be less secure and more buggy. Sasuge, Microsoft.
Why do people complain about stuff they'll never use themselves?

What codec would you use to make the smallest possible audio file? I'm talking in the range of a few kbps. Audio quality is irrelevant as long as it is intelligible.

Bought it in 2014. It may be a great phone, but the Lolipop update completely gimped many features and is buggy as hell
Also because it's another model, it doesn't work with most custom roms

FAQ
>What is TempleOS?
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT7yvaGN0ZU [Embed] --TempleOS (formerly J
Operating System, SparrowOS and LoseThos) is a biblical themed lightweight
operating system created over the span of a decade by programmer Terry A.
Davis.
>How did TempleOS start?
Development for TempleOS began in 2003 after Davis suffered from a series of
manic episodes that left him briefly hospitalized for mental health issues.
Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God
told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to
Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code.
According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16
colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a
programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a
file system called "Red Sea".
>What can TempleOS do?
TempleOS deliberately has no network support. It runs 8-bit ASCII with graphics
in source code and has a 2D and 3D graphics library, which run at 640x480 VGA
with 16 colors. The OS contains numerous embedded biblical references including
a program called AfterEgypt which allows users to "communicate with God"
through an oracle.
