When the fuck is the Ethereum mining meme going to end so that GPUs can actually be affordable?
It's going to become proof of stake at some point.
How does a currency balloon out of sudden? Is it a bubble or are people seriously now buying stuff with it?
>>61055774
bubble. the whole appeal of ether is that there is a "meaning" behind it - the computations of the miners are supposed to calculate stuff for other software in a decentralized manner. that is unlike bitcoin which just wastes electricity to make almost useless calculations.
the thing is ethereum is going nowhere right now. no one is using the calculation services they boast about. so right now miners calculate transactions just like bitcoin, but atleast they dont waste electricity that much as of now. people have no idea about this or are just gulible enough to stay on the hype train - bubble.
What the fuck is wrong with android?
Is this why fucking cell phones have 6 gigs of RAM these days?
How the fuck do you manage to bloat up a phone OS this fucking bad?
>tfw haven't used Android in years
Look up android memory management. It doesn't work the same way as windows you fucking pleb.
Bloated as HECK. I have 3 GB of RAM and 1,6 of it is already in use even when I haven't opened a single app myself. I really dislike how Samsung and Google both forces all these background applications and I don't know which of them I should stop without making my experience worse.

If you want help:
>State the budget for your build (and country if not the USA).
>List games/software you use often, as well as your monitor resolution + refresh rate.
>Clarify your goal for build improvements: lower price or improved specs?
CPUs:
>G4560 - Budget builds (<$500)
>R5 1400 - if you can't afford better or specifically need 8 threads but not a very powerful CPU
>R5 1500x - All you really need for 60fps with power to spare; Don’t get an i5.
>R5 1600 - Best value for higher fps gaming / mixed usage; Get a 1600x if you don't OC
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper - Compute/Multitask/mixed use; Not required for just gaming.
GPUs:
>Integrated CPU Graphics - Desktop stuff and very light games
>RX 560 and GTX 1050Ti - Lower end budget cards, drop settings on newer games
>RX570 - 1080p@60hz at high, running most maxed older games at 144+hz.
>RX580 and GTX1060 6GB - 1080p@60hz maxed, 1440p@60hz at lower settings; Go for the RX580 if you can.
>GTX 1070 - 1080p@144hz /1440p@60hz at high
>GTX 1080 - 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60hz maxed, 4k@60hz in a few games; Probably the highest end card you need for 1080p/1440p.
>GTX 1080 Ti - 1440p@144 hz and 4k@60hz maxed/high in many games; You're kind of going overboard with this one.
>AMD GPUs are suffering a lack of stock and Nvidia a rise in price thanks to e-currency miners
General:
>ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
>Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
>NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
>The Ryzen lineup comes with exceptionally good stock coolers. (with the exception of the 1600X) consider using them over any sub 35USD cooler.
>>61055422
Please check your RAM model with your Mobo QvL list, especially if you are going Ryzen. A model not on the list can cause plenty of issues with a build.
When will cryptocurrency crash? Would like to get a rx580 but they are sold out everywhere.
>>61055456
Crypto will not crash. What you can hope to happen is it becoming vulnerable to ASIC mining making GPU unviable.
Does this look dumb?
>>61055186
it doesn't look dumb it looks retarded.
yeah

Is that glasskart ? I have a jailbreak but it's been so long since I modded because Apple just kept breaking the cydia substate. Got sick of it. This is comming from a guy who use to contribute skins to the SB settings Cydia repo. Oh god how through attrition we have become a boring bunch of lemmings.

Ask stupid questions that don't deserve their own thread here.

I don't understand that at all, I come to these threads because my questions are genuinely stupid and I'm not savvy in internet/connection shit or hardware.
How can I use that information to get my answer?
>>61053620
The internet is a seires of tubes. It depends on what tubes you are taking to get to the testing server.
You could be going through tubes that go to the opposite side of the country. But if you used tubes that were in your state it would route faster.
It all depends on where the test servers are located at

Are Monks still the best non iem memebuds
>>61052801
they're monk+ now, and yes
Dear /g/, I wish to share with you my latest purchase.
These were $12. Made of bamboo, they are actually polarized, come with a hard case and a wiping cloth. Definitely need some sanding and they lack some resin, I feel the sweat and dirt will make them look like shit pretty quickly. Hinges feel a little tight, might snap, who knows. 9/10, would buy another pair when this happens.
Would post a picture of the actual sunglasses but I left them in the car and I don't want to put on a shirt.
Also my Nomos watch has been on "arrived at destination airport" status for almost two months. How long before I call it a day and order another one? It was $6 but meh, I've had bigger losses.

Newfag here.
Can people give me advice on starting basic hacking.
Also like to learn all about electronics maybe some programming and coding to.
Please give me websites and to tutorials so I can know how to do this shit.
>>61051948
sharpie on pooper
Read "The Web Application Hacker's Handbook" - no, it's not a fucking website or tutorial, it's a real textbook. Do the examples and shit, figure out where it's outdated - probably in a large amount of places, but that will teach you how to think about this correctly.
There are other ways to learn hacking, probably better ways, but if you're newfagging it this hard on /g/ you probably should learn from a book first.
>>61051948
Download kali linux and darkcomet, that's probably what you want.
Guys, I think it's been time for a while now, we should all really start using VPNs. Even though they might not be the most effective at times and data can still be spied on in other ways, it's better than using nothing.
I've been looking for a decent VPN provider for a while now but almost all of them seem to fall into the jurisdiction of the 5/9/14 eyes countries, keep logs, or just seem like shady Jews altogether.
I've used PrivateInternetAccess in the past but that seems to have gone to shit now too.
What are you guys using and more importantly, why?
Also, VPN General.
Take a look here, this might help out: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/
Eh. I'm hoping for something that is free...though I assume that nobody is interested in offering their services for free.
open proxies when fucking around, same level of privacy as a vpn but for free.
openvpn server at home for connecting from public networks.
Yo.
Linux user here. Considering building a gaming PC with Windows 7 because I'm really excited for a couple of titles slated for 2018.
What's the best pirate version of Windows 7? Way back in the XP days, there were lots of isos that came with prepatched software like office and shit, the system configured to fix security issues, and whatnot. I'm assuming there's something similar for 7, so, what should I go with?
http://mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/

Official ISO plus Windows loader by daz I would not dare use anything else.
Windows loader can be hard to find now a days sadly
