When the fuck is the Ethereum mining meme going to end so that GPUs can actually be affordable?
>>
It's going to become proof of stake at some point.
>>
How does a currency balloon out of sudden? Is it a bubble or are people seriously now buying stuff with it?
>>
>>61055774
bubble. the whole appeal of ether is that there is a "meaning" behind it - the computations of the miners are supposed to calculate stuff for other software in a decentralized manner. that is unlike bitcoin which just wastes electricity to make almost useless calculations.

the thing is ethereum is going nowhere right now. no one is using the calculation services they boast about. so right now miners calculate transactions just like bitcoin, but atleast they dont waste electricity that much as of now. people have no idea about this or are just gulible enough to stay on the hype train - bubble.

Is it likely the service will pick sometime soon or is the crash eminent?

>Invest original price of GPU into ETH
>Wait a week
>Be able to buy GPU
>>
>>61055881
unlikely in my opinion. the ethereum project is ran by incompetent people, it had the 64 million dollar hack, and a hard fork. no company will EVER want the services of such an organization

>the whole appeal of ether is that there is a "meaning" behind it - the computations of the miners are supposed to calculate stuff for other software in a decentralized manner.
You're missing the trees for the forest. The main appeal of Ethereum is gambling -- decentralized, trustless, provably-fair gambling.

*facepalm*

It'd just be replaced by something else. Crypto mining isn't going anywhere, it's the best way to keep a blockchain decentralized and secure.

You should be glad, more demand means that eventually manufacturers will increase production to compensate which means lower costs for everyone. It also means more money in the industry which will lead to more rapid advancements.

If it does then the miners will just move to something else PoW and pump that, they can't afford not to. AMD and nVid can't afford them not to either.

will the bubble burst in a month's time?

>low end cards cost almost as much as 1080s
>ssds and ram won't ever come back down in price

next thing you know motherboards will go up in price because of an rgb shortage

>you will not be able to afford decent pc soon
This is what mobilefags were waiting for. Enjoy the smarthphone only era.

It's funny because I bought a few 500GB Samsung 850 EVO drives from jet for a hundo a piece and now two years later these drives are 150+ maybe 135-140 on sale. This is for old fucking shit too.

>>61055774
it's being shilled hard everywhere
>>
Kinda unrelated but how many dollaridoos can you make by mining with a r9 390 a couple of hours a day?
>>
I sold my ETH like 1 year ago for £1,460.
That same ETH is today worth £32,600.
I'm also currently broke.
Hold me.

Fuck, man. Cashed out at the wrong time. Hope things get better for you.

Cryptsy stole 30 btc from me. I'm an unemployed
no degree virgin that's legitimately about to be homeless.

I took out $10,000 in cc debt to build mining rigs this time. I don't give a fuck anymore. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Best of luck to you, anon.

You too man. I'll see you in the lambo dealership.
