I like you OP. And yeah, that's my favorite part of Hawkworld too: Katar just opening his eyes to a whole 'nother kind of world and life, slowly finding himself trapped between the rusted out, ossified mindset of his once-admirable people, and the radical new ideas he's being exposed to. What I particularly love about that setup is that he immediately recognizes that for all the talk of life, freedom and the pursuit of happiness, it doesn't quite work that way in reality, so that just adds more to the pathos of his internal struggle. Does he try to change the old system from the inside, or does he champion a system built on more egalitarian roots but guilty of falling into the same traps as his Hawkworld?
It's a shame it eventually just devolves into ordinary superheroics in V3, but that first half of V2 is the stuff dreams are made of.

Thats the thing, would they have caved into pressure and produce more episodes eventually if they did cancel it there as was the original intention? Its a very weird spot in history in that the events that did happen were so confounding yet from that one shows attempted cancellation a whole plethora of possibilities of what would happen to modern culture have spawned from it
