It depends on the lentils. In my opinion the best lentils are the french ones, Lentilles du Puy. I like to do them in a salad: prepare your dressing and when the lentils are ready add them straight away so that the lentils absorb all the dressing. Then you can add tomatoes and tuna. Otherwise cook them and add an onion studded with about 4 or 5 cloves to the water and eat them with sausages. Depending on the sausage you can add them to the same water. But the masters of lentil cooking have to be the Indians. Any decent Indian cook book will have loads of recipes for lentils.

I tried some garbonzo beans in a salad. Firstly, I just didn't like the taste of the beans but mostly, it became of problem of getting a full serving size in there. I'll look into that soup though.

I don't understand why people think it's so disgusting. it's a fucking leaf. there are greens with a lot stronger of a flavor. mustard greens for instance.
