Autist who insists that anybody who disagrees with him is "brainwashed", posts contradictory screencaps of the games as "proof" to the nonsense he spouts, and generally shits things up when everybody is having a good time.

>Fossil Pokemon.

Oh shit, so, okay, lets talk about about Fossil Pokemon for a second:

>Why do you think Fossil Pokemon are Rock-Type?

-Do you think they're rock type because the resurrection process MAKES them rock-type and that it's just something that has to happen or happens due to them being recreated from a fossil which is really just a sediment deposit in the shape of a bone and not actual DNA? Id est; it isn't a "perfect" process?

-Not all Fossil Pokemon are Rock-Type, but Rock-Type Fossil Pokemon have durable/persistent enough DNA that they do actually become "truly" fossilized and their DNA becomes preserved in the rock. So the only Fossil Pokemon they've been able to revive ARE the Rock-Types because of this?

>Bonus not-extinct round:
-Why do they keep putting Dragonite Skeletons in their Museums of natural history? Seriously, they've put Dragonite Skeletons in at least two Museums (one was a GYM, but you know). Are Dragonites a Cryptid? Did they use to be huge and this is like a wooly mammoth thing? What do you think the deal is with Dragonite Skellies?
>>
>>28389175
How did lusamine=Lucifer come about??? The other stuff makes sense, but that seems a bit weird.
>>
>>28389340
Im not sure, im not the guy who made that image
>>
>>28389288
I think it's pretty widely accepted that Fossil Pokémon are only part Rock type because of the fossilization/de-fossilization.

>Rock-Type Fossil Pokemon have durable/persistent enough DNA that they do actually become "truly" fossilized and their DNA becomes preserved in the rock.
>So the only Fossil Pokemon they've been able to revive ARE the Rock-Types because of this?
I do however, love this idea.

Also as for Dragonite, I suspect they're just so rare, perhaps previously believed extinct? If you think about it, Fossil Museums should be going out of business very soon in the Pokémon world, now that de-fossilization is a thing.
>>
>>28389288
>-Why do they keep putting Dragonite Skeletons in their Museums of natural history?

It's not unusual for museums to put up modern animal skeletons. I've seen whale skeletons in museums.
>>
>>28389340

I'm the guy who made the image. I'll clarify.

Though they dress in Arceus' colors and claim to be angelic in nature, they're not like fallen angels, playing with God's creations by creating artificial life and trying to make their own version of God, led by Lusamine.
>>
>>28389982

More like fallen angels*

Alchemy and the creation of homonculi is an affront to God.

Notice the helmet of Type : Null. It resembles a spartan helmet; and what about Gladion's name? Its similar to gladiolus, a sword used by roman warriors. And who was the god of war in Ancient Greek and Ancient Rome?
MARS
As in MARShadow guys. When shit will get serious and Gladion will take off T:N mask, its true potential will be untapped to compete with the legendaries (solgaleo and lunaala) thus becoming the eclipse pokemon (marSHADOW)

>Why do you think Fossil Pokemon are Rock-Type?

Irl fossils are formed when hard materials (ie bones, teeth, etc) are rapidly covered in sediment. The original material decomposes but a cavity is left behind which is filled by some kind of mineral. The fact that fossil pokemon are rock types is probably just a reference to this process, but in universe, it's most likely that the fossilization process causes them to acquire the rock typing. For example, the kanto fossils' original typings are probably something along the lines of dragon/flying, bug/water and steel/water or pure water

>Why do they keep putting Dragonite Skeletons in their museums

Dragonite is a living fossil, or just because.

>>

So You think Marshadow is a evil Pokemon and Null was created to stop it? Or maybe Marshadow has to do with hyperspace portals and taking it down Would mean a easier way to obtain Ultea beasts
>>
>>28391230
Marshadow is probably a Mythical Event Pokémon (because Zygarde seems to be the main Post-Game Legend)

Type: Null was probably intended to stop/defeat Marshadow, which will also be Gladiator themed
>>
>>28390995
My big question is why does Gladion have him? Team Skull aren't the type you'd expect to make genetic monstrosities. Therefore he might be an escapee from the lab, and Gladion might be too. The shaking hand thing he does could be a kind of connection he has to it.
>>
>>28391441
My guess is that Gladion worked with Aether, most likely due to blood relation, but saw what Aether was really up to concerning Null and decided to take them down.
>>

>>
There is no way the Aether foundation is actually "good".

I see it panning out in one of two ways

>Aether is a front
They are putting forth the idea that they are good for the people/pokemon, but really there is underlying motives that are actually nefarious

>They don't know they are evil
Aether actually believe they are doing good, but in reality are really harming the balance of the world

In either scenario, Gladion leaving makes sense. We will likely have to stop Aether at the end of the day.

The Aether Paradise is relatively out of the way, not taking up any space on the major landmasses. While this might be good for not altering the environment, it's a bit impractical to be so far away from the populace.

Plus, its a tactic often used by cults to prevent information from getting in or out, but since boats seem to transfer between the Paradise and at least one of the islands, that may be a bit too judgemental.

No, thread was slow and I was curious.

Definitely a bit presumptuous. Although we know Type: Null is man-made, we don't know if it's a fusion of other Pokemons' DNA, as opposed to simple cloning and genetic alteration. If it is, though, it isn't a fusion in the same way as Kyurem is. Also, Kyurem's absofusion is temporary and between two fully formed Pokemon, whereas Type: Null's creation seems to be at a genetic level.

Someone suggested I move this over here:
Fun fan speculation:
I was thinking about the flower names and what some of the Aether Foundation may be drawing their names from. I when I looked up Faba, I got "Vicia faba" which are simply a type of bean.
Beans... Scientist... that reminded me Gregor Mendel, a scientist who experimented with making plant hybrids using the pea plant.
Making Hybrids... Like Type: Null perhaps?

I don't know, it's just fun speculation and was wondering if any of you may have any input.
Here's a little article on Mendel
https://sites.google.com/a/wisc.edu/ils202fall11/home/student-wikis/group8
Do you think connecting the two scientists is too much of a stretch?
>>
>>28398002

You don't seem to understand.

Look up Fabaism/Favaism
>>
>>28398028
I don't really see how that relates to anything. Some disorder people get that is triggered from eating faba beans?
I think my theory has a little more credence than that.
>>
>>28398002
Well, his sunglasses look like beans, so there's that.

Regardless, I know of Mendel. He experimented with pea plants to observe Dominant and Recessive genes in reproduction. While the hybridization is a good connection, the fact that it was drawn from a name leaves it open to interpretation. See if you can find any connections between Faba's Japanese name and experiments similar to Mendel's work.
>>
>>28398066

Not looking deep enough.

You're absolutely right about that, but the bean is only stopping halfway. Fabaism/Favaism is directly linked to a genetic deformity that prevents the body from breaking down a compound in the bean.

Aether is all about manipulating genetics, and likely ridding of genetic "deformities," with Fava running the genetics department.

It may be worth mentioning that Wicke is also related to peas. Wicke is german for Vetches, which are Vicia, the genus of plant that Vicia Faba belongs to.
So they're both connected to pea plants, and therefore genetic modification.

Reposting weird stuff list from past thread

Within Gen VI
>AZ's floette was in XY but cut for unknown reasons, might return a la Mega Lati@s and Complete Zygarde but who knows
>Pic related, can link to the Noppera-bō, a faceless, humanlike creature that is rumored to consume its victims entirely, then take on their form without a face

Between Gen VII and past games
>Project AZOTH was stated by both Aqua and Magma to return the world to its start, Azoth is a city introduced in Magearna's movie
>Sina and Dexio appear in Alola some time after X and Y take place with the Zygarde Cube, implying an extension to Kalos lore
>Colress, a known researcher, has a look similar to the Aether foundation, but is just coincidental at this point, >>28345153 → has these observations
>Type:Null was supposedly created to imitate mythological Pokemon, mask looks similar to Arceus' ring, illustrated in >>28345122
>AZ, Alpha and Omega, Day and Night have a huge "Beginning and End" motive, might be relevant

Within Gen VII
>Type: Null is a man-made mon, suggesting a connection with the Aether Foundation, a research group, but again, coincidental
>UB01 has shapeshifting powers and acts like a young girl, heavy implying a connection with Lillie

Also of note is this guy's >>28344696 theory about the third Legendary being based on Aristotle, really good observations

Reposting notes on AZOTH in alchemy

Azoth is the single force -- the "spiritus animatis," as Wikipedia puts it -- of humanity that drives it to attain physical and spiritual perfection. Not only this, the Azoth seems to also have a physical incarnation as the "Elixir of Life" or "The Universal Solvent," and was known as the cure for any mental, spiritual, or physical ailment. Essentially, it's liquid perfection.

Another thing of note is that Azoth's name was constructed from the first and last letters of the Latin, Greek, and Hebrew alphabets, in that order: A/Alpha/Aleph, Z, Omega, and Tau, which ties in to the "Beginning and End" motif present in AZ, and Alpha and Omega.

Additionally, Azoth is another, less used name for the chemical Mercury, which is a part of a very significant trio in alchemy, with the other members being salt and sulfur. The chemical symbols of all three can be seen within the starter Pokemon, as shown in pic related.

Azoth = 5 planets (5 mons) + Sun/soul + Moon/spirit + physical hermaphrodite body (perfect Z, which have red (Yveltal, Y chromosome) and blue (Xerneas, X chromosome) wings)

Hol up I just thought of something.

XY = Chromosomes = Genetics = Aether Foundation
Yvetal is the Pokemon of Destruction, something that all life goes through including plants.
Xerneas is the Pokemon of Life, giving birth to living things like plants and pokemon.
Zygrade is the Pokemon of Order, keeping nature in balance. Including the laws of nature such as life an death.

Aether is playing with creation (Life), going against the laws of nature (Alchemy) to create something that shouldn't exist. In doing so they summon the Ultra Beasts (Death) which bring harm to both Pokemon and Humans alike. Zygarde (Order) will have a role that balances out what Aether is doing with the help of Solgaleo and Lunala, who in there special phases turn white like the color on Zygrades chest.

Solgaleo and Lunala are the key to bridging the gap between life and death, X and Y as shown on Zygardes chest.

Zygarde literally has a form called "Zygarde Cells" which helps lend weight to it having a role in genetics.

You should add context to each of these. At the very least, which games they crossover into. But you could also add where it fits into the timeline, any context of the cameo, ect.

Also, you may want to add the other cross-region HG/SS cameos. Jasmine, for example, is talking with Erika in Kanto, and it actually contextualizes her crossover with Platinum where she shows up in Sinnoh.

Another thing;

>Giovanni in HG/SS
>Jasmine participating in Sinnoh Contests

Lastly, you may want to mention namedrop cameos. The text about Blue and Colress being in Kalos for example. You don't see them yourself, but they're there.

Finally, good job, I am glad someone did this. Character cameos/extra development are some of my favorite things in Pokémon, and they can be more important than people think.
>>
>>28398233

>>
>>28412172
Not too big on Johto, but I absolutely LOVE Sinnoh, as it was my first Region although I action replay'd through it cause I was horribly unconfident and autistic and it has the best lore. Unova's great too, but it took me a bit to warm up to it.

I'm a bit sad that Kanto doesn't get too much involvement in other regions other than Oak visiting, though that might be due to it not being having much of a lore to it.
>>
>>28412301
>I'm a bit sad that Kanto doesn't get too much involvement in other regions
You have to remember Kanto got a complete 2.0 in the Johto games, with all the Gym Leaders getting redesigns. In HG/SS, quite a lot of them got extra development and encounters, too.

And then there is also Sabrina and Red, who are recurring.

So Kanto does get quite a bit of love. It's just that it didn't really introduce any other side-characters like Looker or Colress, to show up in other games.

>it was my first Region
Platinum got me back into the franchise. I played Red-through-Sapphire, but Gen 3 man. It was too long. 5 long years of a Gen I just couldn't enjoy like I did the first two. When D/P came out, I had lost all interest. But I gave Platinum a shot, and I fell in love with Pokémon all over again. I love Johto, partly because nostalgia, but also because HG/SS as a counterpart to Platinum become 11/10. You get so much lore, across three Regions, and so much content. Those games can keep you going for months.

>it has the best lore
It's sort of hard to top the literal PokéGods, yeah. That's why I am glad S/M seem to be revisiting and expanding on old lore, possibly even Arceus stuff if Type: Null is any clue.
>>
>>28412301
>>28412439
D/P were slow and fucking terrible, I cannot say this enough, BUT the actual plot and lore were definitely showing signs of being interesting. Platinum actually improved the hell out of the games and helped highlight its good parts, amking for an all-around cool as shit (for the time) plot and sort of concreting a lot of the more mythological lore of the games. Before that was the generic box-art legendary stuff and Mew/Mewtwo, and with no real connection between any of them. The only exception I can think of is the Regis, which Gen 4 continued to develop upon with Regigigas.

All good ideas. Though I dont know how much of that I'm gonna add, since this image feels pretty big already.

Also, Giovanni was at Tohjo Falls, which is sort of Johto, but also Kanto, so I'll leave that out. Plus I already have Jasmine right there, Maylene only gets two HGSS mentions because she is seen in Kanto but is participating in Johto Pokeathlons, meaning two regions

>Jasmine, for example, is talking with Erika in Kanto
Huh. I did miss one.

>You should add context to each of these.
I dont know about that one. This will definitely make things too much. Especially with some of these. Oak is seen at like, 4 Sinnoh locations. Maybe in a separate Pastebin.

>At the very least, which games they crossover into
I think that one is a given, since you see which game it is just by looking at it. Each line is a region too. I was going to illustrate that too though. Maybe colour code each line.

>Lastly, you may want to mention namedrop cameos
That was the next project. Though I was just gonna do a few lines of it at the bottom of the image if there arent too many.

>Finally, good job, I am glad someone did this.
No problem, I honestly spend time making pics like this purely for discussion, out of boredom. But /vp/ isnt a discussion heavy place outside shitposting.

>>28412172
My favourite regions are Johto and Unova so you must know how I feel. This is great. Sinnoh is good too so I'm just all smiles. Hoenn and Kalos are pathetic though.

>>28412301
I mean, Kanto has the only E4 member to do pretty much anything with an evil team (and the only Sevii rep) and also has the movie star and Red.
>>
>>28412587
Gen 5 also developed the Regi's. All 4 of them are in a cave in B2/W2 with new puzzles. Really cool stuff, really underappreciated.

Also, I played Platinum, not D/P. I hear that Platinum fixed a lot of D/P's problems, and made the games faster.

I sometime hear complains about HG/SS and Plat still being too slow, but I never really noticed it.

Yeah, I pretty much agree completely. I do feel bittersweet with Kalos though. I enjoyed it and wish they used the Region better. I really believe with some tweaking, I could have been great. OR/AS showed me that Hoenn is never going to be fun for me though.

I was in a thread a month back discussing favorite cities and eventually shifted to Generations. People agreed that though Gen VI was a bit lackluster story-wise, it improved immensely on mechanics and graphics, making one of the biggest technical leaps in the series.

That said, Gen V could, in a way, be considered Gen VI's opposite, with a reduced Dex size as opposed to Kalos' giant one, but an incredible amount of storytelling and world-building. Mechanically, it was pretty much identical to Gen IV, but introduced so much it could practically be called "Pokemon: Reloaded."
>>
>>28412921
Well X/Y's engine was developed with the game so they didn't have time to flesh out the story while oras was more like an experiment.

S&M so far is turning out great
>>
>>28412782
Same on both fronts. But what really gets me is how pretty much nobody appears in Kalos or Hoenn, even between Gen 6 itself. Seems noticeably isolated. Though Sycamore went to Sinnoh and AZ went to Hoenn.

>>28412101
aaaand I forgot Eusine.

>>28412875
No, it was biggest city of each region. Celadon and Nimbasa are only there because Saffron and Castelia are canonically larger but Celadon and Nimbasa have more people.

Also sad that Lumiose City alone has more people than all of Kanto.

Nah, the meteorite in OR/AS contained Megastones, the second one containing Deoxys.

The one in Unova was where Kyurem/Reshiram/Zekrom came from. It was the Original Dragon crashing and splitting, I am sure.

>>28412921
I guess that makes sense. B2/W2 still have the most content of any Pokémon game. (Except maybe just maybe, HG/SS)

Gen 6 did have a huge leap forward for visuals and mechanics, so I can't really hate it though.
>>
>>28413054
I noticed that too. Funny shit.
>>
>>28412921
>Mechanically, it was pretty much identical to Gen IV
I wouldn't say IDENTICAL. Weather was much more valuable in Gen V than Gen IV, for example.
>>
>>28412959
S/M seems to have an engine that has grown off Gen VI, saving a lot of time in the developmental process, allowing more room for the region and lore to grow. So far, it looks like it's going to be a far better BW to Kalos' DP.

Main point: Gen VI broke the ground on the 3DS for Gen VII to build on, and they are gonna build big.
>>
>>28413126
I hope so. I really do.

People feel burned out from OR/AS and X/Y having such a small Post-Game though.

I feel like they tried to cover up the lack of content by ending it with this big "explosive" story with Deoxys and Rayquaza, but there really wasn't all that much content there at all.

But you also have to consider, we didn't get a game in 2015. Pokémon has been a mostly annual release for quite a while now. But they're had an extra year to make S/M, so they have absolutely no excuse now.

They didn't need to make new models for the first 721 Pokémon either, so in theory, S/M should have as much content as at LEAST Platinum, but maybe as much as B2/W2 or HG/SS if we're lucky.
>>
In Kanto we had Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno.

In Johto we had Suicuon, Entei, and Raikou.

In Hoenn we had Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza.

In Sinnoh we had Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

In Unova we had Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyureum.

In XY we had Yvetal, Xerneas, and Zygarde.

And so far in Sun and Moon we have Solgaleo and Lunala.

All the legendaries are involved with one another lore wise, what do you think the 3rd edition to the Sun and Moon trio will be. And why is the number 3 so important?

Though come to think about it, HGSS was a good mid point between Pt and BW. It actually shares a lot of things with Gen 5 compared to the rest of Gen 4, that made the transition smooth. Stuff like Flat Battles, camera angle changes, even several interiors which are closer to how Gen 5 does them than Gen 4.

ORAS didnt feel like pushing the Gen 6 mechanics further at all, really. Mainly in how the overworld was a lot more square in that than XY.
>>
>>28413317
So far, it actually just seems like Zygarde is the 3rd Legendary.

There's also the leaked "Marshadow", but a lot of signs are pointing to that being a Mythical Event Pokémon, and Zygarde being the main 3rd legend instead.

What? No
That meteorite was a key stone

"A huge meteoroid, far greater than any before, struck the planet, boring deep into the ocean and leaving behind it a crater larger than any other. The land born of this event later become known as Sootopolis"

"The great meteoroid was the first of many disasters to befall humanity. When it punched into the planet, the land cracked beneath it, and a great welling of natural energy poured from beneath Hoenn. Thirsting for that energy, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon once again woke.
"The people had a wish—a memory from a thousand years before... They wished that the Legendary Pokémon clad in emerald light would appear again. The huge Meteorite that lay at the heart of Sootopolis gave off a boundless brilliance. In its brilliance, it resembled a vast and powerful Key Stone. And once again, Rayquaza descended from whence it came in the heavens. The people fell to their knees before Rayquaza and made a wish for salvation. As they did, a great change came over the Legendary Pokémon. It was enveloped in blinding light. As the light receded, they beheld a Rayquaza beyond all knowledge— a sublime figure, incandescent with overwhelming life force."

Megastones was created in Kalos 3000 years ago using the ultimate weapon, in Hoenn was created during ORAS when the nature energy hoarded by Groudon/Kyogre was released (remember that new megastones appears after that). Meteorites have mega-shit because the ultimate weapon shoot to the space before the ray descend to land.

Xerneas/Yveltal -> life-death-evolution energy -> megastones

(Zygarde ->) nature energy -> life-death-evolution energy -> megastones

Also nature energy powered primal reversion (maybe Z power too)

I still think it's a bit of a reach to say that two characters with "Grandma" in their names/titles are the same person. Besides, there was no mention of anything like the Draconids in DPPt, as far as I can remember at least.

But if Zinnia is said to be within Gen VII, that would open a whole new can of worms...
>>
>>28416839
True, but there's a very good chance they could retroactively make it so.

Like, "Hey, this is a grandma expert on Dragons. Zinnia said her Grandma was a dragon expert! Masuda, come help me write some dialogue to work Zinnia into this!*"

*Translated from moonspeak.

It's not the first time Game Freak has retroactively canonized something before. In the original G/S/C, Silver wasn't even remotely hinted as being related to Giovanni. Fans, and the Manga, ran with it. Game Freak made a nod to the idea in FR/LG, before completely making it Canon in HG/SS via the Celebi special event.

I'm just miffed that people are jumping immediately to "SINNOH CONFIRMED" before Sun and Moon get released.

X and Y were dropping hints like bombshells, so we can expect Sun and Moon to do the same.

It could be like the gravitational pull that the sun and moon has and maybe it effects the earth.

yfw the plot of Sun and Moon is that Aether wants to harness the energies of the Sun or Moon to use those powers to create god.

>>28423221

If the SS Anne appears during SM and Looker is on it that would certainly be a possibility.
>>
>>28423430
>If the SS Anne appears during SM and Looker is on it that would certainly be a possibility.
No it wouldn't. That would be on the pretty silly assumption that S/M take place before OR/AS in the timeline.
>>
>>28423221
This is a fantastic theory.
>>
>>28423419
We still have to remember that despite games' universe and the anime's universe overlapping at a lot of points, there are some instances where they split off nearly completely. A good example of this is that in the games, there is no penalty for carrying Arceus around without a plate in your inventory, which goes against the anime's canon.

But, in an effort to reconcile the two, I think Arceus might have created the Hall of Origin as something of a contingency plan, to keep him alive in a stable environment until the plates get returned.

Actually, I'm not sure if it was them. I suppose you could say retcons, but in BW2, they seemed to imply the other didn't know they were in each team. But come to think if it, that would be too convenient and ridiculous
>>
>>28414137

I wouldn't be surprised if Game Freak actually retcons this to become true. Maybe all the Draco Meteor tutors are migrant Draconids - they tend to live fairly remotely, halfway up a late-game route or something.

Maybe other characters such as Kalos's Drasna, who comes from Sinnoh, will be connected to Dragons and Draconid lore as well. Cynthia and her grandmother too, even. Cynthia's grandmother knows loads about the myths surrounding Dialga and Palkia.

However, the anime expands Cynthia's grandmother and makes her a Professor instead, though this is easily retconnable/not relevant to the games.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Celestic_Town

tl;dr This town in north Sinnoh could practically be a Draconid enclave.

"The old shit" is from like, the 50's.

Wicca is a relatively new religion. To be Wiccan you have to have apprenticed under one of the original teachers. Neo Wicca was created is just to get around that rule, so anyone could practice it.

>English trailers are shorter and generally have far less music

Why is this allowed?
>>
>>28433126
What I noticed is that the American trailers get to the news immediately rather than showing more of it like the Japanese trailers, presumably to cover as much topics as they can in a shorter amount of time. Practical, for sure, but not as effective.
>>
Hey, can anybody translate the most recent release on the Japanese channel? Not the commercial, but this one:

Being more practical is no excuse for cutting the Gladion, Aether, and UB themes. It's really jarring to hear that cheery music as the chimera comes out.

>>
>>28434406
not the same anon but why not both? it's clearly better.
>>
>>28434559
I'm not too sure, but I think I have a guess:

Japanese advertising is different than USA advertising in that they try to make said ads memorable through spectacular/strange execution, as opposed to the US making deals more appetizing by describing them further. Thus, the Japanese trailers have more flair to them because of their audience.
