Why everyone believes Ash will fight the Elite 4?
In all the times Ash has go to a Pokemon League never and i say never has been implied that after defeating the other trainers you can now fight the Elite 4. There exist different levels of Leagues. Once Ash defeats Alan he will get a Trophy and thats it.
