ITT we design Z moves so they are an interesting mechanic rather than a shitty boring gamefreak gimmick. As in, don't just make them do a bunch of damage. Since they are limited to once per battle, you can really push the limits.

Crobat is the most bro-tier Pokemon to ever exist. Allow me to explain:
>Generation 1 was full of neverending Zubat
>Golbat wasn't very strong either, it had no decent moves and Wing Attack was super weak
>Gen 2 comes around
>You can find Dark Cave early if you explore thoroughly, like a good trainer should, and pick up a Zubat
>Sprout Tower immediately gives Zubat a place to shine
>By being willing to give Zubat another chance, you gain access to Bite, the first Dark type move you've ever seen
>This is the first time you even get to see anything of the two new types at all
>Dark was Special and Bite was no longer Normal type, so Zubat coild now chew through Rock Pokemon without a problem
>You can even teach it Steel Wing once you find the TM and have both new types represented
>Golbat rewards you again when it learns Wing Attack and you discover that it's much more powerful now
>Being a happiness evolution, you are rewarded even further for keeping it with you since it will evolve into Crobat almost immediately after becoming Golbat
>Then to cement its status as a bro among bros, it can then learn Fly as a Crobat for maximum comfort
>Even in competitive play Crobat can still hold its own by being one of the fastest motherfuckers in town and having an entire SkyMall catalog of status moves to pick from
Crobat is the epitome of a bro Pokemon because it continually pulls more weight than you had any reason to expect. After you have been conditioned to think of Zubat as a generic shitmon for years, it turns into an absolute badass if you give it a second chance to prove itself.

K, I know a great deal of the competitive community flipped their shit at how OP he became with that Mega Evolution, and hate that it exists. I however, am glad to see that my all-time favorite legend finally got some love by Gamefreak, and even happier that those of us outside Japan get to enjoy him with any sort of boost at all. So many events, 2 of which were the shiny Ray and the V-Create Ray, both of which I desperately hoped to get, but as usual, nope (seriously Japan, share a little).
Back to the point. He's been my favorite legendary since Ruby version, and seeing him fuck the metagame so hard that Smugon had to create a banlist beyond Ubers made me chuckle.
Despite its faults, I fuckin' loved the Delta Episode. The lore was solid and interesting, I loved the new atmosphere and look of the Sky Pillar, even though we all miss the bike challenge a little, and the climax was just epic in my opinion. Was it a little cheesy? Fuck yeah it was, but holy shit. You're riding Dragon Jesus into the sky to blow up a meteorite that carries an invading alien, who you battle in outer space! Also, Dragon Ascent it the most rad attack since Draco Meteor; and guess who gets them both? This guy.

So basically, you want me to choose a favorite that isn't as popular so that I can be a special snowflake? Who cares what other kids liked? Charizard has tons of meaning to me.
My first starter went along with my love of dragons. I'm a martial artist, and learned at a young age about the power and confidence of dragons in myth. I was (and still kind of am) a hothead, so I always gelled with Fire as an element, and Charmander was the natural choice for me. My dad even surprised me with the Red version *specifically* when we couldn't find the game during the original Pokemon hype because he knew those things about me. It's kind of how I was raised.
In the anime, his standoffish BS really mirrors my own edgy crap as a teenager. Nice, timid kid gets stronger and toughens up but is a total shit about it, eventually gets over himself and becomes a loyal bro. Shit was my "coming of age" to a T.
My friends all know/knew that Charizard was my ace, and agreed that it suited me. Everyone knew that I just "fit" with Charizard and questioned any time I benched him to try out other 'mon. Hell, when Charizard X was first announced, we all thought it was perfect that his color scheme matched the colors I use in my own business and am usually sporting: black and blue.
It may sound corny, but so is that shit about Gyarados "representing the ascension of the underdog" or Marowak "overcoming past and tribulations."
Charizard is just my favorite Pokemon, Anon. I don't see why that's such a fucking problem for people.
