Mega Evolutions are changed so that the megastones themselves permanently evolve a pokemon. So you can use them like a regular pokemon. But that pokemon can never hold an item.
How does this change the game.

I want a Pokemon MOBA.
It already lends itself to the "Four Skills System", but it'd work a bit differently. You'd start with one basic skill/move at Lv1, and as you level you unlock a new move every level. When you get 4 it gives you the option to replace an old one with a new one. The higher your level the stronger and more diverse the Pokemon's moveset gets.
Instead of relics each Pokemon gets a single Held Item which can be switched out freely but only when KO'd.
Actives would be things like Potions, Antidotes, etc.
Evolution would take place as you level, raising all your stats substantially compared to a standard level up.

Hey I'm not sure if this is worthy to say or not but Sun and Moon boxes arrived here at my job a week ago. Couldn't say anything until enough others had been shipped to other area's otherwise they would triangulate on me. Now it's kinda safe.
From what I can see the boxes come with legendaries printed on them and the SUN box has these gold accents that reflect light. On the Moon box there's a green/blue glow in the dark thing going on. Don't ask for cartridges, they're not even here. I haven't seen cartridges for any game ever here. boxes leave without them
