People were banned for playing online before the official release. Playing online is fine now. Nintendo has stated that bans for playing online early were permanent, though your mileage may vary.
The .cia files uploaded by Lurantis are effectively the same as the new ones and the files on Nintendo's servers (legally bought digital copies/FreeShop downloads).
There are 2 kinds of ban:

Just copy and paste one of the patched code.bins into SD:/luma/code_sections
Hold select when booting Luma to open up the config menu, turn on "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" and press start
>HBL (New 3DS only, otherwise use Luma)
Extract the patched code.bins and rename them to 00175E00.code for Moon and 00164800.code for Sun.
Place it in SD:/hans/
Start up the homebrew menu and open HANS, open Pokemon through it.
Finally, use the in-game QR scanner and you're golden.

The slow frail ice attacker meme aside, I don't get why they simply gave Crabrawler better stats, no evolution and made it water/fightning.

You know, that is pretty weird considering how willing they are to drop gimimicks from one generation to the next. I'm guessing the one thing they don't want to change is how Pokemon evolve in general. Unless the evolution method becomes obsolete for other reasons, like if Nin Nin handhelds lost the tilt sensor then they couldn't do Inkay's evolution anymore and would have to change it.

Yep. But the Poke Pelago berry island is the best berry method they ever came out with. It's berry pots on steroids, which is why I miss it already since we know damn well it ain't coming back for Gen 8 and we'll have to go back to watering our plants maunally, turning our game on every 6 hours just so we can get a max yield.

Holy shit, I've had it with this game.
There's literally just a guy in a pokemon center who GIVES OUT rare candies every time you talk to him.
I am honestly livid. I can't get 3 minutes to myself without having to tend to that ponytail headed fuck's needs with these constant objectives. It's like a tutorial that never ends. Why the fuck is my pokedex talking to me. Why is EXP share still a thing. Why does every trainer have only one fucking pokemon. Was the directed audience fucking 2 year olds? I get pokemon can't be the same for 20 years, but why this?
Someone who's played further ahead than I, please let me know if these little red flag objectives clear up. I really don't think I can play this game if I have to interact with my rival half of the time, let alone anyone-- ANYTHING. Fuck.
