Does anybody else think Game Freak hates every starter introduced from Gen V onwards not named Greninja? So many of them are plagued by problems like terrible stat distributions, bad movepools or stupid hidden abilities, and then there's the Gen V typing fiasco.

It's always been the same, fampai. Almost all starters are shit.
