a lot of the challenges in endgame MonHun are often kind of bullshit, or rely on mechanics that artificially extend the fight for no reason and boost the monster's damage output to ridiculous levels (wonder what I could be referring to here :^)) the challenge isn't particularly well-designed in some instances and leans on cheap gimmicks.

NEW TWINBLADE
WA - Wind Wall
Spin the weapon in front of you continuously, and follow up with a light attack to push out a pulse of air forward, knocking down things in front of you. Follow up with a heavy attack to do a large spinning attack that sends forth a shockwave of wind.
Block frames are active during the spinning, allowing you to just spin through projectiles and attacks. Its a big twinblade, like the Red Iron Twinblade, so it has pretty decent block values to help with the WA.
Poise of a Greatsword, range of a Greatsword, damage a little above average of typical Greatswords, but a little slower to compensate.
And then you can pair it with a Wolf Knight Greatsword to look like a Spellbreaker/Spellblade from WoW.

The first DLC is warped into by talking to an NPC you really can't miss, the second DLC is acessed by either beating the main boss of the first DLC or reaching the final boss of the main game, bonfires pop up to warp you into it.

That's still true for greathammers, but unless you have a good shield the framedata on straightswords isn't worth it over the reach new greatswords have. Things like the bastard sword and executioner's greatsword are still fairly garbage, but the better half of the halberds and greatswords in game are able to really shit on nearly any weapon. Pretty much all heavy weapons are better than they were before, but greathammers are generally just for countering people who can only trade, they aren't good as standalone weapons.

Also, miracles got lightning arrow and projected heal and are pretty comfy in general right now.

Monster Hunter has less i-frames which is the main reason monhun players think themselves superior, but the big difference is you can usually reliably get out of the way of attacks in monster hunter, and most attacks are just a single attack. Most of the difficult dark souls bosses stick to you like glue with moves that shoot them towards you at light speed, and you have to be rolling through long delayed combos. And often they have recovery so short that unless you are rolling through the attacks you won't get a chance to retaliate and you gain nothing.
Also monsters don't usually have bullshit tracking. Unless their name is brachydios

I don't know about that my dude, ss speed and movement during attack easily gives it the spacing advantage. Just pay attention instead of mashing into HA and it's a perfectly fine matchup.

Vilhelm's set is something a king might have worn and shoes no sign of wear. You do not pair a clean, pristine, regalia of a set with the fucking fallen knight hood.

Early on level focus on VIG and END since you don't get much scaling for your weapons.
Around level 60, a cozy VIG/END setup for me is 30/24.
After that, since you'll start getting your weapons at +6 and +7, scaling will start to matter, so you can dump levels into STR and FTH.
After that as you level, try to get VIG to 40, and END as high as you can, you need stamina to swing your heavy weapons.

Well that was fun. with a phantom, aldrich and dark spirit invader, one of them killed the phantom early on, when they fought me they kept hitting each other as I guided them with rolls until the red got fed up and tried to kill the aldrich. A blue was summoned and killed the red while I kept taking off the aldrich's health, he changed his bkga to a great scythe to finally reach me but with each trade I did more damage so I ended up winning. What I've seen to notice is that whenever a blue gets summoned to my word I can't seem to hit 1 of the invaders at all, usually the reds, they don't stagger or anything, my swings go through them without them taking damage.

not really. DaS2 just suffers from ho-hum art direction throughout most of the base game, which really shows when you compare its own DLC, which are all visually interesting in their own ways.

It's hilarious how DaS2 now has good graphics and colorful level design when it was criticized for having ugly as fuck areas all the time before. Amana is one of the few pretty areas, most areas are rocks and stone walls with tiling textures.
