Weapons that do stupid damage in as little hits as possible, like Winged Knight Twinaxes, Sellsword Twinblades and horizontal swinging ultra weapons. Wolf Knight Curved sword is also really good because the damage and healing buffs it gives stack up faster if you hit multiple players in one swing, and it has the strong hyper armor to help with straight sword spam.

That's not actually a bug; any invasion in TRC has a chance of being turned into a Spears fight, regardless of whether or not you're actually in the covenant. Actually being in the covenant increases the chance massively.

I finally got him down to 50% and then his secound phase starts, and he suddenly has zero openings to attack him. I spent 5 minutes just trying to get a single hit in with no luck, and then he one shot me...

It's bad enough that it took me 10 minutes just to get past his first phase due to lack of openings and a bajillion hp. And yes, I am hitting his face.

It has been some time since I bothered with PvP in a Souls game. I had imagined that in the five years I've been absent that the average skill level of players would have risen, but I can see now that I was mistaken.

I just got 490,000 thousand souls after invading someone? How is this even possible?

He was a parry fag that dominated me but refused to attack me so I just played his own game and refused to attack him, we just rolled around for a good 15 minutes, I knew I couldnt beat him on this shitty pure dex alt. Eventually after 30 minutes I was out of estus and just ran behind enemies and sat there for a while. For some reason he didnt run to the boss room and tried to chase me. I refused to lose to this guy or crystal out so I just wanted to get far away and hoped he would die before going to the boss room. He followed me down the ladder from halfway fortress area to Farron keep, then I ran by him and up the ladder again to block him from going to Sage. He eventually died around 20 minutes later somehow while clearing faron keep when I was afk and tabbed out so Im not sure what happened. All I know is that I ended up with half a million souls somehow.

You idiot, his moveset does not change that much. All that happens is that he gains two new attacks, his burning rampage attack gets done twice in a row, and his laser goes three times. Everything else is literally the same. Plus you get that free riposte on him that shaves off like 15-20% of his health at the very end, and leaves him wide-open to finish him off with R1 spam.

I had a few weapons equipped to keep my roll short and get around shields (Grave Warden something) but really all I ever used was a dark Longsword (and eventually Fume Sword) and a dark-infused Black Witch Staff, with a lightning Dragon chime for heals (while invading mostly but I guess you could do PvE too).

I dunno, it's pretty straight forward really; get to Felkin early, I think you can get a Sunset staff pretty easily from him, then power your way through the game with Dark Orb. It's been a long time so I don't remember much specifics. For PvP you want Scraps always, this spell allows you to deny the area around you and also cheese people on their wakeup. Cast Scraps, put up Affinity or shoot up that Blinding Bolt ripoff I can't remember the name of, then run in and shoot of an Orb or swing your sword or swing a Dark Greatsword.

God fucking damnit. Night after night I'm swarmed by hackers in online play. Try to host a fight pit? They kill Aldrich. Try to get summoned as a spear of the church? There is a fucker putting his summon sign down outside the fight who has super health and defense and cannot be staggered, so every time you get summoned as the boss this fucker is there to grief you. Gael is one of the oldest hollows who maintained his sanity for a good long while. At some point he befriended the painter girl in Ariandel, and went on a quest to amass the dark soul to give to her to be used as a pigment.

Okay gents gimme all your tips on beating Friede. Apart from Gael, who I've only fought with the one character, she is the only boss in this game that I honest to god suck at, and it is driving me insane.

I think the problem is that she's squishy enough that you can eventually just beat her with high damage and getting lucky RNG so I never learned the fight, but any help you can give me would be hugely appreciated

For Friede:
Phase 1- Stay in her face. Do this by either using a high stability shield with a lot of stam, or just parry her/backstab her over and over.
Phase 2- Go after the Father because his moveset is easier to dodge if you stay on him and keep your distance from Friede. Keep an eye on the ground to avoid her frost, but for the most part that will be all she spams when she is far away. You can also try to keep an eye on her to charge her is she starts trying to heal, but it is honestly not necessary.
Phase 3- There is a split here on whether or not to play it patient or not. If you play it patient, just avoid her attacks and get used to dodging to the side instead of backwards. She has a pretty big opening after her combos. If you play it aggressively, she is pretty easily locked down against a wall by heavier weapons. Greatswords, ultra greats of all sorts, and halberds are especially effective.

I just had the shittiest idea for a covenant. Invade at half of unembered hp and half damage but you give no invasion message once in. However, mobs will still attack you as if you were permaseeded and theirs and your HP bars will be visible to the host and phantoms if you deal/take damage. Also, killing the host or phantoms gets you nothing but some measly souls. Your goal is to pillage the host's world. You can pick up any item except key items and killing mobs gives you and only you souls. If the host catches you and kills you, he gets all the items you looted. If you die by any other means, the items you looted reappear in their original places. Your goal is to bsc with as much and as fat loot as you can get, which upon returning to your world can (but don't have to) be traded with the covenant leader to get some sort of "tribute points" which you can use to buy stuff from him or rank up. Ranking up unlocks more shit to buy. Maybe even allow you to buy stuff other Looters handed in. Lastly, you can only bsc in the spot you spawned in.

I say go in blind! If you go into it using the wiki, you remove a lot of the mystery and adventure of this adventure game. You can always go through a second time using the wiki to do a full completion. Messages on the ground are usually good enough to show you things that are hidden nearby, but you might not always want to trust strangers

How do I deal with rainbow dragon's crystal orgasm? I got full Havel and Cursebite on, but there's nowhere to run and I can't get rid of the curse fast enough before the next attack pushed me over.

If you're not limiting yourself to sorcery only, you're probably better off making a +5 to 7 Raw weapon.
If you are only using sorcery, just save him until you need to enter the Archives and allot a shitload of Ashen Estus. His attacks are actually pretty easy to dodge if you stay far away, he mostly hits people when they're trying to close the distance.

Midir's attacks are so predictable. He has a potential 3-5 hit combo, and once you recognize the first swing of that combo you need to back down because he swings his arms frantically. Everything else can be dodged or walked away from. The only time you actually need to lock on is when he's on all fours and breathes fire that turns into a laser in phase 1.

Does anyone know of a way to teleport the boss outside of their arena? Param Patcher -> Allow to break fog gates and then monster vac doesn't work. It pulls him onto you for a moment, but once monster vac is turned off the boss teleports back into the arena.

Honestly they give good blues (like me) a bad name. I have annihilated countless (by blue summoning standards) reds in arrowfuck valley just by being smart with the cover.
