http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (speccy screenshot), OS, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.

Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.

READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE:
>Where do I get games
OR
>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Remember to submit bug reports or shit won't get fixed.

Man I am legitmately surprised how well Cemu performs.
Just tried Dankey Kang Tropical Stank and it ran at 60 on my 750Ti. The shader stuttering is a big problem though.

The game itself is "playable" but not without glitches. Cemu can't run videos, there are minor graphical glitches every now and then and there is audio crackling for some reason on certain sound effects.

The fact WiiUSBHelper downloads the emulator and converts the game automatically when you click on Play is pretty neat.
>>
Why in the ever loving fuck are people giving so much money to this closed emulator?

A lot of rendering stuff is missing from Citra as of now so its not really in any usable state. Only a select few titles work well.

Citra is to 3DS emulation as JPCSP was to PSP emulation. You need to wait a few years for a better emulator to come out.

Also, the videos are literally mp4s in a folder you can view in VLC. Why can't Cemu play them?

>>170831549
>Citra is to 3DS emulation as JPCSP was to PSP emulation
This might not hold true actually
Citra is surprisingly well optimized from what I played of it. The main reason why the framerate suffers is because of unimplemented framebuffer calls. In a few years Citra might actually get those implemented.

For me Softrazier runs at 200FPS at 4x while Opengl is at around 160FPS for the same.
The framerate is switched at 5x with Softrazier running at 160FPS and OpenGL at 180FPS.
The difference is only noticeable at 5x and even then OpenGL has some wild drops.

I managed to find it included with a build of NUSGrabberGUI, although I can't remember where I got it.
Here's everything you need to decrypt eShop downloads.

Just extract it into the folder of whatever game you want to decrypt and specify the three files (.tik, .tmd, and the included ckey.bin).

I'm surprised that Nintendo didn't try to make BotW harder to emulate. CEMU has been around for a while now and it was obvious that they'd try to get the game running as fast as possible.

Given that Zelda is the only reason to own a Switch at this point (and for a few months at least, maybe even until Mario releases) it seems like a massive issue for them if we're able to pirate the game on PC and get it to run at a higher resolution, maybe even with a higher framerate eventually.

I fully expected Nintendo to come up with anti-emulation tricks for this game in particular. It's especially bad since the Wii U and Switch versions are identical (ignoring the native resolution).

Maybe I'm just overestimating the issue, after all only a minority of people will have a PC strong enough to run it decently I suppose.

I also wonder when the first Switch emu is going to release, given how standard the hardware is it really shouldn't be too hard to get it working. I suppose the GPU is going to be the main issue, as often.

>>170898130

Gamecube and PS2 potentially, but only a few cores will suffice. Single core performance is still king for emulation.

I personally always favour open source emulator (and software in general) because I know I'll be able to modify it if I need to. I also know I won't be left stranded if the devs decide to drop support.

I mean look at people using fucking cheat engine with Cemu in order to do speed hacks. Imagine how much more productive said people would be if they had direct access to the source code and could contribute upstream directly.

They can do this. Go decaf. Oh. Right. Open source fags won't work on it, because 'reasons'.
>>
>>170899518
>Imagine how much more productive said people would be if they had direct access to the source code and could contribute upstream directly.
Objectively false. Open source speeding development is a meme pushed by code thieves and people who bought into their bullshit.
RPCS3 has been open source for years but real progress only came when a single dedicated programmer got his patreon funded.
Cemu has an open source alternative. Why hasn't it surpassed Cemu?
>>
>>170900238

I'm not saying that being open source magically speeds things up but being closed source can slow things down. What would it change for the Cemu folks if they released their code? Would it slow them down for some reason? They'd probably get a few ports to other OSs within a week, at least.

Are you arguing that developing hacks using cheat engine is nearly as convenient as modifying the source code and rebuilding it? Also stop using the word "objectively", it makes you sound retarded.

But all of that is irrelevant, the reason open source matters is not speed, it's just having something that you know will stay around for the decades to come and that can be used as a base for more accurate emulators down the line instead of reinventing the wheel every 5 years because a new emulator is needed for a more modern platform.

Which is why stuff like Reicast and MelonDS are reinventing the wheel. Your entire post is the complete opposite of reality. PPSSPP got ahead by "reinventing the wheel"
Open source leads to stagnation unless you have a dedicated developer, which a closed source program pretty much guarantees.

>>

PPSSPP benefited directly from the source code of JPCSP.
>>
>>170900953

>Open source leads to stagnation unless you have a dedicated developer, which a closed source program pretty much guarantees.

I agree that a dedicated developer is the most important part but I fail to see how it has anything to do with closed vs. open. Many open source emulators have very dedicated (to the point of being nearly autistic) devs.

Also "reinventing the wheel" can have degrees. It's very common for emulators to start with a brand new codebase, it doesn't mean that you don't benefit from having the code of older emulators to understand how stuff worked. Do you think that anybody deciding to implement a brand new PSP emulator nowadays wouldn't use PPSSPP's source code extensively? They would be stupid not to.

If tomorrow somebody wants to implement a more accurate Wii U emulator "from scratch" they might use Decaf's code but certainly not Cemu's. As long as Cemu's devs remain committed to the cause it doesn't really matter but how long will they last? What will happen when the patreon money dwindles, will they release the source code like they said they would?
>>
>>170901379
>At least with open source, there's at least a chance of revival if said dedicated dev ever quits
Waiting for Reicast and Desmume to get picked up
Any day now.
If anything this leads to frankenstein code like PCSX2 where the current coder isn't aware of half the shit that is going on and vultures like SP who just refactor and commercialize the project. Its not like Open source projects are free from ego either. Dolphin, despite having active development, has pretty much stagnated in terms of progress with the team focusing on shovelware shit instead of fixing core flaws or implementing missing features.
>>
>>170901548
>PPSSPP benefited directly from the source code of JPCSP.
Got a source to back this up?
>>
>>170901630

ePSXe has exactly the same frankenstein architecture while being closed source. Actually the plugin frankenstein architecture exists mainly as a way to interface with various closed source plugins through a standardized ABI, it doesn't make much sense for an open source emulator (although it's still a thing, mainly for historical reasons).

And it's still a bad argument, Reicast and Desmume *could* get picked up if somebody cared. And if one day somebody decides to write a new emulator (whether closed or open source) they'll no doubt benefit from their source code. And in the meantime we know that we'll still be able to port these codebases "as is" to any new platform we want.
>>
>>170901964

Works fine. You need:
https://github.com/FIX94/ftpiiu/releases
https://github.com/aboood40091/mocha/releases/tag/v0.2_fshax
Both of those on your homebrew (in SD:wiiu/app)

Get an FTP client such as:
https://winscp.net/eng/index.php

Get the japanese audio files using JNUSTools:
https://github.com/Maschell/JNUSTool
Make a folder in the same place as JNUS called tmp_00050000101C9300
Get the title.tik for the japanese version of the game and place it in that folder
Make sure to add the common key to the config file
Open commandline at the folder location and type: java -jar JNUSTool.jar 00050000101C9300 -file /content/Voice/.*
That'll get you the jap voicefiles.

From there, run mocha_fshax followed by ftpiieverywhere and navigate to storage_usb/title/00050000/101C9*00 with the star as a 5 for EU and a 4 for US (I think)
Go content/voice/USen and then copy across all the files from your japanese voice directory to the USen directory (or EUes for spanish, EUfr for french, etc).
DO NOT delete any files that are on your WiiU, just overwrite as necessary. There are some files necessary to allow the other language versions to run.

Once it's all copied, open the game, no need for signpatching or anything from what I can tell.

I have one file that I can't replace from the Eng version that I think has become corrupt. If anyone can think of a way to force an FTP client to delete it then help would be appreciated.

Nigga both best emulators for DS and DC are either far ahead of the alternatives or for completely different systems. There is no reason for them to peek at existing code. Hell nobody whines about closed source projects unless they are top of the line for their respective system making the whole "peeking at code" an entirely one way process.

Anything in libretro I suppose?

But hard forking is rarely needed for maintained projects, just make your patch and submit it upstream. Github counts nearly 5,000 pull requests for Dolphin and 833 forks (although I expect many of them are probably dead).

Also if your fork is successful enough it'll become the main branch. See for instance the various PCSX* flavours throughout the years.

>>170903029

So they're not new emus? That's not at all what I was talking about then. My point is that if a competent dev decided today to write a better DC or DS emu, they'd probably benefit a lot from being able to look at reicast/desmume's source code while they wouldn't get much from the closed source ones, as far ahead as they might be.

Why even bother posting this here? The dude is full on dedicated to preservation and cycle-accuracy as well as OSS, and this place is filled with a bunch of pirates willing to support closed source projects if it gets them free games who don't care about accuracy so long as there's no visible glitches.

>>
>>170933762
A huge portion have gotten PC or PS4 ports, yes. As a vita owner all I can think of off the top of my head that'll be worth playing and is still exclusive:
>Soul Sacrifice Delta
>Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
>Persona 4: Dancing All Night
>Persona 4 Golden
>La Mulana EX
>Muramasa Rebirth
>Killzone Mercenary
>Disgaea 3/4 (until the inevitable PC ports)
>DJMax Technika Tune
>Lumines Electronic Symphony
>IA/VT Colorful
>Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz
>Stranger of Sword City: Revisited
>Dungeon Travelers 2
>Demon Gaze
>Tearaway (Unfolded is very different)

And even then quite a few of them will be a bitch to emulate due to the control schemes. If you expand it to Playstation exclusives in general the list beefs up quite a bit, but even still PS3 emulators will nab better versions of most of them long before a functional vita emulator is ready.

Completely new to emulating here. I've looked on the wiki for how to download games etc but didnt find much info.

I want to try out BOTW on CEMU (yeah i know it runs like shit I just want to try it pals) and am currently downloading the game (I think?) from darkumbra, but its downloading in 5 different zipped files.

What do I do once those files are downloaded? darkumbra link says to

"Download the USB version and add the ticket, Extract Loadiine and Cemu Rar inside the USB folder
Run Loadiine and Cemu.bat
delete all the files other than the three folders"

wtf does that mean amirite bros?

I have cemu already and read some reddit shit on the cemu forum about the game title tickets or game keys so i've found the BOTW key but just am still unsure about the whole thing.

Thanks for any help and also any kys'

>>170934296
Without the overclock, 175% before the slowdown, then down to 145%. Funny thing is, tested at other speeds, the drop was always 30%. I'm thinking it's an audio issue since there was distorted audio that always happened, and more frequently using DLE emulation rather than the recompiler. If the in-game time didn't seem connected to framerate, I would have left it alone without trying the CPU overclock since walking is much faster and combat speed is close to what I'm used to for a normal action game.

Why doesn't PPSSPP automatically transfer saves to new versions like Dolphin does?

And for that matter, why does PPSSPP let you plug the controller in after you've started, while Dolphin makes you plug the controller in before you start?

The saturn doesn't suffer from Z buffer issues from what I can tell so a PGXP style hack would not be necessary.

PGXP is about sub-pixel precision (i.e. non-integer vertex coordinates) and I believe that the Saturn is even worse than the PSX on that front. I never actually studied the Saturn hardware though, so I might be wrong.

I'm mostly basing myself on what Ryphecha and that other guy who was working on a Saturn emu have told me.

The DRM kicks in after it connects to their server, and if it can't connect it locks the user to a "slow" mode.

I actually figured it all out an hour later. Turns out Internet Archive websites had a cached version of the cdecrypt download back in 2015 or something!

Zelda doesn't really run very well, and crashes on my machine sometimes after cutscenes like a treasure chest activating. Controls freeze, game physics like wind and stuff continue to operate, Link is fully frozen in whatever animation he was in. Also fat screen tear and graphical when the camera is looking toward death mountain, or certain enemy packs. For example there is a rock enemy on the other side of this wall (screenshot) and the game just doesn't finish the cutscene after it zooms in on the eyes of the rock glowing.

Also, I jump like 2x higher than my brother does on the Wii U.

The VI refactor is making everything render upside down and shit. Still a work in progress. The original intent was to fix all the PAL games rendering cropped and distorted, but as a side effect, a lot of buffer stuff has been fixed. (For example, Vigilante 8's main menu can flip properly now.)

PJ64 isn't crossplatform yet. Work on removing Win32-specific code has been slow, but steady. (There's an Android port now, for example.) Retroarch has resorted to merging GLupeN64 to replace its own mupen64plus build. They're busy stagnating while GLideN64+PJ64 are saving N64 emulation.

It's close enough to being cross-platform though. I heard it only needs a little bit more work for Linux. RA has its own UI anyway, so I don't see why they still stick with Mupen64Minus.

>They're busy stagnating while GLideN64+PJ64 are saving N64 emulation.
That's a bit of a stretch honestly. Neither of them are top quality Tbh senpai and progress is pretty slow.

>How's that possible? Last I heard, their depth buffer inaccuracy was causing the clipping issues. Did he fix hardware depth copies or something?
If I had to guess, it's because the plugin now --mostly-- copies buffers at the correct size. Before, it was prone to copying them too small, or too large. The latter tends to make the emulator crash because it overflows into executable memory.

>>171041517

It depends on the following three things

1. PIC compatiblity for the dynamic recompiler
2. dynamic recompilers for each architecture
3. compiles on all three major desktop OS platforms at the very least

If the dynamic recompiler isn't PIC compatible, then it would require being statically linked to RetroArch to work, which would be quite inconvenient, the alternative would be to compile with interpreter only which would be slow.

If there's only a dynamic recompiler for one architecture, then that leaves other architectures with only an interpreter, which means they would be slower. On PC, if there's only an interpreter for x86 32-bit, then you would be forced to use 32-bit RetroArch to have a dynamic recompiler, which is not convenient for most people using 64-bit OS's with 64-bit builds of RA.

If it only compiles on one OS, then it is not going to be beneficial to do a port in the first place since the whole point is to have cores that compile on as many platforms as possible. Making an emulator compile on other platforms could be non-trivial if the emulator has hard dependencies on non-portable code throughout its codebase. Developers who primarily use Linux are not going to be interested in working on an emulator that can't compile on their platform without major overhauls.

As far as I can tell, PJ64 meets none of these things yet, though there seems to be some progress with getting it to work on Android and Linux, so it might be more worthwhile to wait for it to be more developed on there.

Keep being butthurt while the modern world is passing you by as everybody is going libretro frontend leaving your precious 'standalone' behind.

Good luck keeping up this 'standalone = superior' and 'muh outdated cores' meme going when Kodi has libretro. Good luck.

I don't really have my usual autistic dedication to firing history from the hip.
The tl;dr of it is that we've allowed international capital to get too strong and that governments (a) lack the political will and (b) quite probably lack the actual ability to get it under control. It's what makes it all possible. Outsourcing, tax-dodging, foreign ownership of domestic industry. We have a Casino economy. Most of the West does too.

It's very easy to quantify things getting worse for the Western working class and stagnating or declining for the middle class, but most countries also have broken political systems that can't-and-won't yield improvement because they're up against an international force. Even the USA probably couldn't force a new Breton Woods on the world nowadays.

>>171075675
Well yeah. That's why I called it capitalism with a human face. Fundamentally a Sanders presidency would change very little. You'd still have the basic structure of the present economy, just with a few niceties thrown in. (Particularly once you factor in he wouldn't get everything he wanted done.)

Sanders wasn't an option though, so Trump it is. Maybe Tariffs will shake things up. Free trade is a gigantic meme.

The dollar won't depreciate appreciably though. It's the underpinning of the global financial system. More-or-less the USA can do whatever the fuck it wants and back it up at the barrel of a gun. (Or a barrel of oil, if you prefer.)

US colleges are a fucking scam with how expensive books are. Colleges are full kike tier to the point of photocopying books being a legally punishable offense.

>Out military budget is inflated and could be reduced to half easily

Considering how the world reacted to trump even talking about reducing US military presence, good luck halving it. US already spends more on healthcare and education than any other country in the world.
Its funny how you call the military budget inflated but advocate for inflating colleges and healthcare budgets absurdly high.

The US doesn't need to spend more on healthcare, it just needs to change how it's spent. The absolutely insane thing is that even with the majority-private system the US already has, the state spends more per head than almost any other first world country. (And then on top of that, individuals need insurance of their own, generally.)

I could continue but then I started wondering about how SimHealth dealt with the idea of reforming healthcare in the USA. Ask your Doctor to prescribe SimHealth!
>>
>>171076718
>The US doesn't need to spend more on healthcare, it just needs to change how it's spent
Thats my point
Sanders solution to fixing the problem was to throw even more money at it. It would have crippled US economy if it got through but I doubt any senate member would be retarded enough to get something like that passed.
>>
>>171076834
Sanders solution was also single payer, was it not? That doesn't translate to more money directly, since as noted most first world countries have similar systems and pay less per head than the US government currently does. How do I set up camera controls for wii games for dolphin to properly work with mouse + keyboard?
I want to be able to use mouse look, i.e. the mouse to control the camera / the stick intended for camera in the games.

Right now I am playing Xenoblade Chronicles with dolphin 5.0 and set up the classic controller right stick with cursor X/Y +/-. After increasing the deadzone to the max I managed to stop the constant spinning with the slightest mouse turn. After fiddling with the radius I got a somewhat workable sensivity in it too. But overall the result is far from what you experience in pc games.

Is there any way to improve that to the level of pc camera controls?
>>
I'm looking for a good shader preset for PS1 in RetroArch, any idea?
>>
>>171084065
Why don't you map it to keyboard or just get a controller?
>>
>>171084142

Keyboard for camera control is slow and inflexible compared to mouse controls. Personally I am not a fan of controllers, especially since mouse tends to work better than sticks (which are generally too slow). I am just used to the usual smooth 1st/3rd person controls on pc, which is why I am emulating in the first place.
>>
>>171084294
The camera isn't really designed for using mouse controls though. I'm not sure that it would be very easy to get it working right.
Try looking for Metroid Prime control setups, since that tends to be where people use mouse controls most in Dolphin.
>>
>>171084294
forgot to add, that a mouse lets you control camera + freeing your fingers for 5+ buttons on your mouse, wheras a controller basically only allows your right hand to use a stick + 1 button at the same time
>>
>>171084373
Thank you. I will have a look.

I think I understand what you mean, that the camera simply is kind of clunky anyway.
After increasing the input range to its maximum, it actually got pretty close to pc level controls since it accelerates the turning by about 5 times.
>>
>>171084536
You can maybe change the camera pan speed in game via options as well, which might help to tweak it.
>>
>>171084581

Wow that worked great. Now it's almost identical to pc controls. Didn't even think of that option in the game. Thanks a bunch dude.

I'm the same guy, I had no idea they were region independent. I looked at (((reddit))) and the Google drive doc there made it seem like they were.

>Why are you playing the PAL one?
As I said to the other guy I obtain my images from a torrent tracker as the downloads are significantly faster and in some cases even smaller. Now that I know that shaders are region independent I don't have to bother with this honestly shady as fuck wiki nonsense and keep downloading the smallest image possible.

Nintendo are literally serving you the files. They want you to take them.
>>
>>171099584
did they make this tool?
>>
>>171099769
They did not. But they made it so that you can just ask for the files nicely and they give them.
It's the same on 3DS, their security is a joke.

As someone who hasn't used CEMU before, how is TP HD on it? Only CEMU game I'm interested in, but I hear it's a bit of a nightmare.
>>
>>171103123

Why don't you play the Wii version on Dolphin? Is the HD version notably different?
>>
>>171103292
Loads of quality of life improvements, UI improvements, and graphical alterations that dolphin alone can't mod convincingly.
>>
>>171103123
Last I heard there were major graphical errors. You could always just upscale the gamecube version since TPHD doesn't really look that much better.

QoL improvements would be nice though.

Literally ever console's online downloads work like this(example: see psndl). You can freely download the encrypted contents. You get a decryption key when you buy the game. They just didn't expect people to be able to dump the keys.

You can only download the games that people have bought and dumped the title keys of. For 3DS, this is less than 50% of the total titles on the eShop:

>>
>>171104765
Why don't you read the wiki instead of showing how much of a fuck you are.

>>171105143
Yeah, PSNDL is handy too.
It just seems like Nintendo has been cracked much harder. You can literally download the files for free straight to 3DS.

>>
>>171105143

I assume it's because they want to keep their content delivery network as simple as possible and don't want to add complex session management code to each file mirror. I can't really think of a way of mitigating this issue without adding a significant amount of complexity.

parasite now is it?

Quite rich from people who are already breaking the law in various ways. Latest case in point - zelda and cemu.

There are no greater parasites than The emulation community, iTS 'devs' (console SDK raiders) and sycophant cultist endusers included.

Alright, stupid question time.

It makes sense that for consoles like the NES, that require battery-powered RAM inside the cartridges themselves for the purposes of saving, the internal save files would be included in the emulator save states, since save states are just snapshots of the emulated console's RAM. But for consoles with memory cards, it seems like there would be a way to save your games externally from your states, so that you wouldn't lose internal save data by loading a save state that doesn't have it.

Evidently, Mednafen using Beetle PSX via Retroarch doesn't do that by default, since I just learned that I've lost hours of progress in Final Fantasy Tactics. If I transfer the memory cards using the procedure described on the wiki, will it do what I want to do, or will it do something else?

They are contributing the most. How can you say they are the greatest parasites? If they didn't do anything on their own, why don't more people become devs?

The logo in the upper screen is made up of many 15/16 unit tall polygons.

>>171107796
What are you asking?
If you have a state in the game that you want to make into a real save, just save in-game.
You can't convert savestates into real saves, as far as i know.
>>
>>171107796
AFAIK Retroarch stores savefiles on RAM always, regardless of whether they're memcards or not. Presumably when you savestate it just dumps everything from RAM into a file, including the associated savefiles, so by loading an older save you could probably wind up accidentally overwriting your memcard file with an older one. I don't think there's a way around that.
>>
>>171107841
>They are contributing the most. How can you say they are the greatest parasites? If they didn't do anything on their own, why don't more people become devs?

Because they are lying about doing any reversing.

And honestly, people who claim the emulation scene is anything more than a retro piracy scene are not being honest to themselves.

Accept what you are and move on. It's like little girls lamenting they dont' have penises. Time to grow up and admit to your nature.

But yeah, when most emudevs fail at even that...... LOL....

>Is GlideN64 suitable for every other N64 game as well though?
Nope. For some games, it's even worse than Glide64..
>>
>>171108091
Under my current settings, if I use the emulator make a save state (state A) before using the game to make a real save (save B), and then load state A, I lose save B, because save B didn't exist when state A was made. This makes sense for a console like the NES with a cartridge save architecture, but not for a console with a memory card save architecture. I was wondering if there was a way to get the emulator to save the stuff that would go on the memory card separately from its own RAM snapshot save states, so you could load state without overwriting any memory card data.

And BTW; non-clean room reversing is not legal. Just wanted to point that out.

Everybody in this 'scene' is already operating on thin ice.

Everybody in this scene, including byuu, has pretty much lied about where they got all their stuff from. They paint themselves to be 'geniuses' to their sycophant fanboys who lap it all up, while in reality it's just some stolen shit and related docs from the big companies that fell off a turnip truck.

Less smoke blowing up your ass and more commonday reality.

>>
>>171108889
Now I see what you mean. Yes, I think that might happen in some cases. You're right that it shouldn't happen though.
For the mednafen core, you can choose to save in mednafen vs libretro style. That may make a difference.

Why not just flip the setting for overriding SRAM with savestates' SRAM off? That pretty much kills any issue related to it.
>>171109204
That can technically be done with simple 2d transforms if the DS supports those. Or single line textures regardless.
Polygons only complicates it, really.

lol. we want the whip. you are an absolutely insufferable wannabe.

There are people doing real hardware reversing who are part of the 'scene', they just don't make themselves visible by saying inflammatory and stupid things all the time like byuu or squarepusher.

>Because they are lying about doing any reversing.
That's a pretty bold statement sir. I know I've seen devs who lied / never acknowledged, but not all of them are cowards who can't admit the truth. Some devs do reverse engineer and even publish their test ROMs. Not all devs even have access to these docs.

What's funny is that while some devs do indeed just copy from docs, some of them fail to maintain code that is even as accurate as the docs. What I don't get is why other people (like RA devs) copy that inaccurate code, when they can just look at the docs themselves and do a better job. Makes no sense.

Can you give us an example?

While it's true that many (most?) emulators have known inaccuracies it's not always easy to address them without ruining the performance.

For instance I'm sure the state of the art of PS2 reverse engineering is way ahead of any emulator out there, but good luck "sticking to the docs" and getting a real time emulator out of it.

>And honestly, people who claim the emulation scene is anything more than a retro piracy scene are not being honest to themselves.

From the point of view of the users? Definitely. From the point of view of the devs and reverse engineers (engineerers?) it's not always the case though. It's mostly a fun "riddle" to solve. I'd say most devs simply don't give a shit about piracy.

I'm a bit frustrated by people who claim the high ground and pretend that it's all about "preservation" and whatnot. Get over yourself, nobody gives a shit if Bubsy 3D gets lost to the sands of time. It's not preservation, it's hoarding.
