I enjoyed TW3's open world, the music and the dynamic visuals created a nice comfy atmosphere and the settlements felt like they were actually inhabited by people. In contrast, DA:I looked better, but everything felt ded thanks to how static everything was. There were also only two nice exploration tracks (The Lost Temple and the track that plays in the Winter Palace) which is just awful for a long-ass game focused on exploration.
My bet is that ME:A will be a wallpaper sim just like DA:I.

Feel the same way but I never really expected them to compare. TW is based on an established series of novels so they have a lot of source material and you play as an established character though they did pull the old amnesia trick just to give players some choices. DA is all new but clearly derivative of classic fantasy and Origins is certainly the most lore-heavy. You also play as a rando that becomes uber-powerful for a while so it's more like Elder Scrolls in that respect.

I know that feeling, I loved Baldur's Gate but after playing Icewind Dale, basically a low effort cash-in and its sequel which had ridiculously short development time I sort of had to reconsider. Even though IWD was basically an attempt at getting the Diablo audience and people who mostly cared about the combat in BG with a dungeon crawl thing it still was so much better written and executed than the BG series. The art, the way the characters and places were presented, the reactivity...

Yeah, I saw the solo warrior build. 100% uptime on 100% damage reduction using whirlwind and walking fortress with a CDR passive.

Game seems like a joke in terms of difficulty

Build I had setup was full tank warrior, two hybrid build knight enchanters with revival, and a personally microing a reaver. Since everyone is melee, barriers hit everyone, I was controlling the only character with any chance of dropping below maxhealth. The only fight i've ever had a problem with was the high dragon that put the pulsing lightning aoe under your feet, so you had to keep your party spread. everyone but the reaver ended up dying, but i could solo it from 50% with devour healing and guard gen easily.

I was playing TW1 (which is not graphics intensive) and the screen suddenly started flickering and then turned black.
