Think I'd add a bit of detail to the front of the apron, mainly across the chest. Something like a simple tree outline or candy cane. I'd say holly, but you've already got that on the skirt, and a reindeer might be tricky to fit. Maybe some slight detail to the sleeve cuffs too, but I'm not sure.

Top is current, bottom is planning.

Except for the cafe area, the peninsula is a wild fruit forest with a campsite at the diving cliff. The rock behind the mayoral retreat is breakable but I'm thinking of keeping it there as a backyard sitting area beside some tree stumps.

I think with the update I can finally build a bridge from my house to the mainland but I've kind of grown attached to living like a hermit. And the second bridge to the cafe is comfy.

Thoughts/ideas?

16 is your "memory" of villagers, after that they start rotating out. So if you want someone to move back in you need to rotate through at least 16 villagers or w/e. You can encounter 280+ villagers in a single save, theoretically, if you're crazy.

What guide are you talking about?

The campsite can give you your 10th villager, you can also get a villager from someone else's town if they have someone moving out or if you wifi with them and they recently had a villager move out that no one adopted.

If you don't think you'll feel up to stalking adoption reddits or tumblrs or here for move outs then yes, it's worth it to build the campsite.

You can still encounter pretty much every villager except the new special ones that come from some of the amiibos, it's just a matter of allowing your villagers to constantly move out when they ask and allowing new ones to come in.

I don't have it in me to save edit or paint the whole town to control where villagers move, so I can't figure out what to do with the area around the town hall.

But I'm thinking fountain in the northern plaza, flower clock in the southern plaza, and some kind of bench directly south of that.

Wild World is pretty great in terms of dialogue and personality for the villagers. If that's all you want, go for it, but I personally feel everything else is such a downgrade from New Leaf I'd rather just go back and play the original if I'm feeling nostalgic or whatever

I love gimmicky villagers, but I never have the gall to replace my original crew with them.

Honestly, all villagers are a bit gimmicky, just most have it in terms of their house which you destroy via furniture gifts.

Like Mac may be an ultimately kind of boring villager, but check his house! He has a doghouse in it and it is clearly a backyard. He lives in a house within a house.

So a few days ago I said HHD wasn't that bad, but I change my mind. Only like 15% of requests are actually unique and give you any creative freedom, the rest are just "I want a house with [insert set here]" or "I want to live in [insert place of business here]". They already have to write unique text for each villager, why not at least try to come up with a creative request? All I get anymore is "I WANT TO LIVE IN A BANK" or "I WANT ICE FURNITURE".

On top of that, why is the system of house upgrading so fucking obtuse? Instead of simply letting you pick any kind of house, or even letting you make the blueprints yourself, you only get a selection of one medium sized room or two tiny rooms; in order to get bigger houses, you gotta talk to them, go to their house, walk through each room, end the day, save, start the next day, travel to their house, ask to remodel their house, and repeat this for EVERY SINGLE FUCKING UPGRADE. Why? There's no fucking money in the game, the whole point is for it to be "house decorating without restrictions", yet you gotta spend like half an hour just to select bigger types of houses.

It's just fucking lame, these feel like mistakes that nobody who has ever even considered making a game would make.

after you update, a day or so later you'll get whispered to while walking around town, then you'll find a lamp. take it home, and once a day the genie will want you to scan an amiibo to invite to your campground, or just for free random gifts

once the visitor arrives (which is immediate after scanning) you can visit them in their rv, order furniture from them, or ask them to move in

i think the welcome amiibo patch is the only really big piece of news. there are plenty of sites thaat cover exactly what went in

besides the amiibos and a couple of games from the ac amiibo festival, once you've built the secret storage in your home (accessed via touch screen with 360 slots of storage) you take a quick tutorial at nook's for touch screen furniture arrangement, which makes setting up rooms and museum exhibits a breeze
