Branded ammo was important for overriding your launcher brand in a pinch after scrollo f brand weapon fucked you cause you didn't want to not use the fire/frost launcher. The additional damage was pretty important on non-xbows. Especially steel bullets.

I've been trying to compile the post 18.2 versions of Infra Arcana from git for weeks now because I heard you now get experience from exploration instead of combat. Finally got a compile without errors (ironically from the devel branch), but it seems in this version you only get experience from interacting with certain objects (i.e. glowing runestones, certain fountains). Is this how it's supposed to be, or is leveling broken in the devel branch now?

I was hoping exploration XP would be based on number of tiles exposed, number of new monsters seen, number of new dungeon levels visited, etc. Oh well.

You have to kill Pele in ten turns, and she gains heroism. Like pretty much any other link like that, I think you'd have to have at least three dudes blasting her with ice magic, and it would help to have a mind-immune demon to pin her down because of her alluring veil. That one instant ice kill ability would probably be really good against her. An extra issue is that you'd have to have killed most/all of the bandits for there to be minimal interruptions.

It's gonna be cool. He can mash up survival, const and fab to craft chain a hoe, funnels, 3L waterskins and survival 3 then start forage spamming with duffels. He can use macros to automate tilling and planting so he doesn't kill himself. Then he'll have unlimited food and water. Keep the rock kiln going and craft chain tailoring up to get everyone in leathers with a good weapon. Later on he'll get the book recipe and cooking 8 for bandages. Easiest way to deal with infection is to search houses (bathrooms and some basements) and ambulances on the street. First aid kits cure developed infections, too, which isn't really obvious.

pcb ai will stop blasting you with spells that it knows you resist, but before that point it won't do anything like prioritizing hand of doom and mana storm over magic missile and summon ants

Depends on a lot of factors, really. Normally, I pick them up if I can get a good 3xbow and have haste or get something dumb like krishna bow. Invest around the 3rd rune to get a reasonable delay, and use them heavily to kill popcorn in Pan/Hell. Also, I really want high stealth if I do grab them.

Pickup everything but the gold from job/dungeon rewards then displace your pet onto it. He'll spend it in towns to train skill and stat potential. Once it's at superb or better you can feed it herbs and herbed herbs to train its speed. The AP guy in act II will train their speedup to a point where you then go back to herb training. Less hilarious is that you must remember to never kill cats (even if there is one 'f' in a midst of an enemy group) or you lose the best artefact ring in the game, and that you must be very tactical about which monster you first kill. If you kill a rat first thing, its game over. You should also think about what star sign you want.

My favorite thing is to kill an assassin in the crime town to the left of the starting area and restart if there are no assassins. The assassin's guild has plenty for you to kill later to get the essential Courage skill.

The situation worsens at the refugee center... The inhabitants are down their liason, 2 guards, a merc, and several windows are breached. Zombies just keep showing up every couple days and do a little bit more damage.

I am new on this general. Tried downloading Cataclysm DDA, am I supposed to not be able to read this shit?

Is Metabolic Interchange the most fuel-dense of the craftable fuel requiring power source CBMs? Hardtack gives 720 power/liter which is way ahead of Batteries and Ethanol Burner but I have no idea what the numbers are like for Internal Furnace, which also has the advantage of being very versatile. If it gives enough power it would be very convenient to kill a zombie, eat its clothes, then go over and smash up some furniture and eat that too.

Microreators are obviously better but I have no idea where to find plutonium regularly.
