How do we make medic more fun?

The recent medi gun speed buff made mid strats and getaways much more interesting but besides holding m1 on an epic top fragger and shooting crossbolts there isn't anything that really makes me think "i wanna play medic in a pub today"

I'm going to level with you guys, tf2 is never going to get better.
Overwatch has a gigantic playerbase with fucking blizzard of all companies behind it. Valve isn't going to try to compete with OW at all, ever.
At most we'll get updates to solidify the current playerbase, but we'll never get the amount of attention that dota or CS gets.

Valve has been fucking the game up for the past 7 years, and really abandoned it 4 years ago with my horde mode. After that, all the new updates were careless, boring bullshit. At least the earlier updates were fun even if they were shit.

If valve wasn't going to go full on with this game for the past 9 years, what makes anyone think they'll do it now that overwatch is out?

They'll throw us a home so we don't feel completely abandoned, bit the games never going to be anything amazing.

pyro is cancer because he takes away control from the other players.
He's actually a very weak class, but his strengths really limit how the game is played, even if it means playing at a disadvantage.

You cannot strafe during the first airblast, which is annoying.
You cannot move that much even with strafing if a pyro decides to juggle you
Shooting a projectile at the pyro means having it sent back at you. A decent pyro will ALWAYS reflect a projectile shot at medium or long range. This is extremely limiting for what a soldier or demo can do, they just have to chip away at the pyro and run backwards
Even if you have good movement, the flamethrower takes no aim up close, so you can't dodge the damage.
You have to keep your distance from the pyro, but he can reflect projectiles that come from a distance.

None of these things make him overpowered, again he is quite weak. But it's frustrating as shit to play against.

I've said this before, the hitbox for the airblast should be really tiny so you cant really reflect shit while also getting damage. If you have to aim to hit the projectile, then it won't fly back in the enemy's face. This will help a lot with how fucking frustrating it is to have a rocket reflected back at you that wasn't even near the pyro.

I also want airblast jumping. It exists somewhere in the game files, it's just not enabled. Personally, I think a pyro being able to rollout to mid spending 40 ammo per airblast would actually be kind of neat

Soldier gets 24 uses of his rocket launcher before he needs to go get ammo. With the gunboats and avoiding fall damage he can rj a minimum of 10 times.

A scout has infinite numbers of double jumps without getting any ammo, gets 34 chances to add a third jump with the force of nature, and can expend 10 health to add an additional jump 12 times.

don't know what to tell you, i get lobby-tier players all the time (though not consistantly) and sometimes even better
i played comp for a good 6 hours throughout the weekend and most of the time got ok-ish players, if not occasionally decent ones
i think that the matchmaking system probably does match you decently well by rank but if there's too many FMs queueing up at the same time you are eventually the system is going to decide that they need a game and that you could be that 10th or 12th slot
then again i haven't been paying too much attention to ranks as of late except my own since the lack of placement matches makes rank to a certain extent irrelavant to skill

Only rockets are slow enough and have a straight enough trajectory to really be worth reflecting. Arrows, piss, grenades, mad milk, and crossbow bolts are all hard reflects that you normally get no benefit from. Loch and Load pills don't even get rollers, and a Loose cannon shot correctly timed will blow up on the pyro anyhow. Stickybombs barely move and will only damage the demoman who laid them, not the rest of his team. Attack interval on demo's pills is .60s anyhow, and the refire on the airblast is .75s. All around a losing game, unless you can predict what your baddie opponent is going to do.

So, it pisses you off when your ebin rocket gets reflected. Poor you, you'll still kill nearly every pyro you meet.

pyro should be about doing damage with a DM heavy weapon, and using the airblast as a mobility tool. Using it for combat impact is fucking retarded and should be heavily limited. I could see a pyro performing 2-3 airblast jumps to get from second to mid, and then pick up an ammo pack, kind of like soldier getting a health pack

they should switch demoman and pyro's spot in the defense and offense catagories
