Hitscan weapons register a hit within a giant rectangle surrounding the player, and then the tracer (not the character) is redrawn to the enemy player model to make it look like an actual hit.

Projectiles detect hits in an area that's bigger than their collision box, meaning if you fire a Hanzo arrow by a corner it can hit people hiding behind it, even though neither of you can see each other.

Pyro has the worst mobility for a flanking class. Scout can doublejump and run fast, Spy can cloak to cross areas without drawing attention

If you don't have any good flank routes to use, only way to use Pyro is area denial and hope the enemy team doesn't have someone competent who will still run into your flames to meatshot/frag you

I'm not much of a Pyro guy but I saw a few smart ones. Capable Pyros only camped at higher enclosed spots to swipe Medic away from Heavy or Demo by a window dive.
That's what Pyros do usually; line push so backline classes like Snipers and Engis stay safe, or dive ambush from claustrophobic spaces to narrow paths so pushing enemy get seperated from their Medic.

Yup, but as long as you take Medic away or keep them away from your Sniper or Engi you'll be good. Dead, but was a good distraction.

Yes, again. At offense you'll need a good flank route and height advantage even your Flamethrower has shit range. At defense, you only cram yourself somewhere to dive in and hope that it works. Your other option is being the right hand (or was it left?) of Engis by running Neon or Wrecker.
You're nothing more than a fourth opinion to wreck a sentry nest that are below or onfoot or a über supplier by getting hurt from stupid shit. Pyro is a staple class and you guys need to take it as it is.

Lad, Scout, Soldier, and Demoman can do exactly that and kill the Medic. That's why teams always check hiding spots. That stuff gets ironed out between Steel/Silver because abusing hiding spots makes for easy picks and sometimes teamwipes.
