I didn't like splatoon, but the campaign was ok, you didn't have to pay for cosmetics and modes didn't become harder because you didn't pay money for better guns, the free DLC wasn't made pre-launch, 4v4 is a standard for shooter games, splatoon has more maps than most Halo games, and it does have splitscreen, but one person has to use the gamepad.

The point is more the fact that it's a practise to begin with, regardless of whether that content is paywalled or not. If I purchase the game, I want to be able to access all of the content on the disk at launch rather than have it dribbled out to me over the next few launch. It leads to the even shittier practise of having the content paywalled despite it being on-disk at launch.

This whole thing is being discussed way out of context.
The whole initial reasoning made by some anon was that they would trust someone that has almost or every Halo achievement with their opinion of the franchise and where it needs to go over someone that has a very low halo gamerscore. Simply because at that point, with all the hundreds of hours needed to be put into all the games, that person would probably have a good picture of the franchise as it has existed for a long time.

I can agree with this. The gamerscore is just one thing. If I'm looking at someone's GT, I'll look at the number, but I'll also look at games played, campaigns beaten legendary solo, rank, and then I'll talk to the person about how long they've been with the series.

Minotaurs is inoffensive, but not really fun past the first playthrough. However, I commend the map design, very well done. One nitpick, you couldn't have called it Minotaurs on Labyrinth rather than Minotaurs on Minotaurs? Small potatoes, though, not really important.

Tankworld made the mistake of hinging itself upon the slowest vehicle I have ever controlled in my life. Traversing the map takes forever, and half of the rounds end in a tie when the last two players literally can't reach each other to fight before the time limit. Not to mention that many of the rounds begin with one or two players running out of the spawn and dying immediately, either to end the pain or out of ignorance.

Mantis Breakout is a good gametype on paper, but not really suited to Action Sack in my opinion. A 3v4 situation is nigh impossible to overcome if the enemy team sticks together and doesn't have a stroke midgame. This mode requires far too much teamwork and communication for a playlist that should be open for solo queueing.

Husky Raid gives me horrifying flashbacks of Operation Metro, and may be the least interesting game mode I've ever seen. They could spice this one up by adding REQ weapons like Blood of Suban or whatever. Maybe this is the case already, but I have yet to see any unique weapons.

Paintball Junkies is an interesting mode, a big step up from Speedball from Halo 4 in the MCC. The map is pretty cool, not a bland bouncy castle arena but a big woodsball area. I'm not that good at it but this is one of the better modes.

Ground pound has stupid snipers

Overall, there is a distinct lack of variety in this playlist compared to previous Action Sacks. Almost half of the modes are one-life round based, which I found to be an odd choice for this kind of thing. I enjoy some of the game modes but others are a slog to get through. However, if this playlist is steadily updated with fresh content, I will happily come back for more in the future.

Anyone getting the Halo Mythos? I pre ordered on Amazon. Seems like it'll be neat

Mantis breakout is breakout except slow limited movement, shitty weapons, and nigh impossible to recover from 3 vs 4s.
Tank world is way too fucking slow and takes way too long. Minimal room for interesting play because you're in a slow easy to aim tank.
Minotaur has a neat concept and map design but is so boring after playing it a couple times.

I get playing these sorts of community customs which invariably become popular with friends because then you're chatting in party or real life and it adds another layer to the games. But in random matchmaking they're so fucking boring.
