I installed a recent game .cia, and after a couple seconds of black screen it kicked me back to the main menu (non emunand mode).

I guess it is just related to how flash memory works in general - that you cant overwrite memory cell, you must first delete it and then write new info, but you cant delete just some cell, it must be whole block, meaning that deletion is possible only, when no other usable file in within certain memory block.

This is also the reason why real capacity of flash drives is higher than official one - memory managment is carried by microcontroller device (coordinating writing/reading/deletion processes) and part is always unusable for user. Otherwise, they would get unusable too quickly for everyday use.

Got some sleep so now I'm ready to take another crack at this. I'm at the beginning of part 2 and the guide told me to install JKSM and backup my game saves before going further. I'm not able to install .cia files yet, so I did it the other way. I couldn't find an installation guide, so I followed

And now JKSM crashes to a yellow screen every time I access it from the HB Launcher. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Yeah I did that, but it still crashes. HB Launcher tells me I have to select a file to use JKSM and the only selectable thing was Nintendo Video. So, I hit that and it crashes to yellow. I don't have a Vita, so I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about there.

That said, yes, the native UI for RetroArch has constantly been updated and is always on their to-do list, and the devs have said several times that they'd love to do a complete overhaul of it, but emulator performance comes first. They are planning for a slightly less shit UI on the next major release though.

Everyone knows custom front ends are available, but that doesn't mean the native one can't be improved - the devs know this and have said they'll fix it in time, so I don't know why you're trying to defend something even they think needs improvement.

Is there a way to change Retroarch's button configuration to access the main menu that isn't the ones that they have predefined? I really hate having to hit L+R+Start+Select everytime I want to save or load a state and the other options there aren't any better.
