I created my own system where if I win 10 easy bot games in a row, I would move onto medium, if I won 10 mediums, I'd move onto hard, and if I won 10 unfair games in a row, I'd queue up for a real match thinking I'd be ready for it. If at any time I lost a match, I'd be knocked back a difficulty until I completed 10 more games of that difficulty. So far I've only beaten unfair bots 10 times in a row twice. This is the only way I'm able to psyche myself up to play with actual players in a real game.

Even though I have anxiety I still want to get better at this game. Is there another way for me to improve?

I'm sort of in the same boat. A huge chunk of my matches are against bots and I only rarely play unranked matches. And when I do play pubs, it's always with comfort heroes: jugg, Phoenix and abaddon over and over again. I'd love to try other heroes in pubs but I'm afraid I'll spoil their games.

at what point do I build attack speed on sven? My build was overall probably horrible with only echo sabre for "attack speed" most of the game, really needed blink/BKB/BoT before any other major items, then went straight for abyssal

EG played so weird back then.

They'd give Mason something like Mirana or Storm most games so he had some kinda decent escape on his own, and then he and the rest of the team would just ignore each other completely and he would somehow AFK farm unmolested and then re-emerge at 20 minutes with a couple items.

EG was good back then, but the weird meta of the time where every other team would tunnel-vision Arteezy is just mind melting. They shouldn't have done that good in 2014 given how predictable every game was.

(Exceptions for the weird games they'd give Mason a Tide or Veno to try and farm an early team fighter. Those were the games PPD would call gg before they even lost three towers.)

I want to see a hero that is 3 separate heroes

Like in the hero select screen there are 3 different heroes and if you pick one all 3 get locked in but you start with the one you picked. Then when you take your ult you get a statue of the next hero in line at your location and you can use your active ult to transfer to that hero. When you do this your current hero turns to a statue and you control the new one. It would be global range to switch heroes but have a 3 second channeling time and heroes in statue form retain their current health and mana and level 3 ult could reduce the channeling time to 1.5 seconds. They would be able to cooldown abilities but each hero would have naturally long cooldown times on all their skills so if you dont switch it up you would be walking around with no skills for 30 seconds. The only thing they share would be items, gold and exp.

One hero could be a melee STR type and the other could be a ranged AGI nuker and the third could be a INT support with disables.

You could also have THREE TIMES THE HATS as each hero would have their own loadout. Imagine that one guy who had all 3 arcana.

It's such a minor spell that people don't care about it and they keep casting spells, then last word goes off and suddenly they're fucking dying and they take fatal brain damage halfway back to base

My preferred silencer build is: Wand, power treads, mek (these 3 as core items) then 2 slots for tps and ward/sentries and maybe a force staff

Vanguard builds into abyssal and lets you fight early but it doesn't give the same level of sustain as vlads

Ye because BF and Vanguard gives you full sustain and if you have a free item slot raindrops give more mana regen. And with Vanguard into Abyssal AM becomes relatively tanky and super fucking deadly. Especially with Manta.

You still wanna wait until you have BF Abyssal and Manta before you start fighting. Then you want BoT, Heart/BkB/Linkens and Butterfly.

Don't forget, AM is not an ultra late carry like Sven or Spec. In an ideal game you get BF Vanguard Manta and go end the game.

He's not. He's super squishy, bkb severely lessens his damage output, and his passive becomes pretty irrelevant when carries start critting for 1500 physical damage.
AM is a ricing carry at his peak from minute 30-40. After that, unless he's shut down the enemy team hard he's running the risk of getting out scaled.

This is all real relative though. While a WK normally out carries most other carries AM shits on him super hard. Medusa same. But if the enemy team drafts heroes with mostly small mana pools AM loses a lot of his early kill potential.

So AM can't beat super carries late game, but the two biggest super carries in the game are hard countered by him.

Also, Sven is not late game, he relies relies on his fast farm speed to get him ahead early and allow him to burst enemies down. If a hero is good at farming, they probably don't scale into late game.

Hero counters are far more relevant than actual roles. To a point. A WK or Medusa can just buy a BKB and then two shot AM or lazily plink his entire team while taking basically no damage.
Spec isn't super bothered by AM taking out her tiny mana pool and she'll be the one initiating anyhow. AM is generally good against ranged carries except for the addition of Hurricane Pike which fucks his initiation hard. Dota is fun because a hero is only as useful as his counter picks allow him to be.

Depends on whether or not Drow can get her Pike or Ghost off before AM can Overwhelm her, or if her team can provide peel pulls or disables on AM so Drow can silence and plink him while he moves at 120 move speed.

It's not a this or this kinda deal. It's up to positioning, reaction times and itemization.

If Drow can silence AM while his Manta is down and he has no BKB he ded as fuck. If AM can blink stun Manta Drow and she doesn't get force staffed/disrupted/false promised/GA'd/Lotus'd/Imprisoned she's gonna die
