My favorite K ending is the "good" ending, not the "best" one where you max out blue karma.
The whole wedding scene felt too cheesy. The good ending gave me the chance to see why Vincent and Katherine were a couple to begin with, which is something that the main campaign really lacked.

I still feel that IV's endings were actually pretty neat at having at least some positivity in each end, minus White. Law end is one hell of a thing for people outside Mikado, but those inside will experience a good life, plus Merkabah ended up being actually reasonable for Law, probably because of Jonathan, and wasn't all "I can't die, I won't die for my own causes!" Chaos end at least has you free people from everyone who wanted to put them down, and implies that you become king and lead them through. Neutral actually having some power at the end was nice, showing that one can stop the cycle.
I love SJ, but there was like no reason to do anything but Neutral, because of how crazy bad the other two endings were.

Law guarantees peace until the next time shit happens, yes. It's the best one of those three.
Chaos is supposed to be total anarchy with everyone deciding for themselves but you suddenly become king to lead them. It doesn't really make sense.
Neutral is just doing nothing and living in a world full of shit, with hunger, poverty, war against demons. It could be that there are even more deaths in this ending than in the other two because Flynn becoming king in the Chaos ending could mean that he can control demons, he's the bitch of the Demon Lord after all.
White is the only ending that guarantees a permanent solution, it's the only ending that can end the endless cycle of suffering. The reactor seems like a painless death too, at the very least it's over fast.
Until Final came and retconned everything, White was the best ending for the IV world. Now it seems to be Anarchy.

Demon negotiation is more advanced, compared to the games that came before Debisama. It can be annoying at times, and I assume there's some sort of a glitch when you talk to Childish-personality demons, but it's not that bad.

Every dungeon so far has been straight to the point, so you really can't get lost.

Probably the single most annoying thing in this game is demon loyalty. With low Loyalty, you can only make vague commands like "offense" or "defense" to your demons, and by the time you raise their Loyalty to a more advanced level, you're going to need better demons anyway, so you might as well don't bother.

It's clunky, but very enjoyable.

Is Zaratan the hardest/most annoying part of MT2? I think I died 5+ times in there. Then had to reset because I got 3 fucking level downs on Nakajima. In the end I spent some hours fusing stronger demons with healing spells, and still ended up running out of mana with all of them and Yumiko a few times, and had to die and continue once before finally getting the pillar and getting out.

The final designs seem to make much more sense as demons from their respective lore that were adopted into the SMT universe. Sukuna-Hikona and Satan compared to Satan concept 1 are the only ones who I would consider as legit downgrades.

Dagda and Danu are really just a matter of taste. But in this game they have a very active role, so it makes sense that they wear an armor and want to look imposing.

Dadga's concept actually include his club, Danu's has her in garb more like you'd expect, and Inanna is based more directly on reliefs like pic related. Even given that, and I do like Dagda's final design, they could have done better "modernizing" these designs. One of the concepts for Dagda thins him down while keeping something akin to the club. Even without accounting for the choice in dress, I think the flow of Danu's design is thrown off by the weird mask face. Likewise, Inanna's design is thrown off by mask face and the way her stomach is drawn. Over-exaggerating the size of her belly to emphasize her role as a fertility goddess is one thing, but the transition from that belly to bird legs is unpleasing in my eyes. Both concepts for Inanna do a lot more justice to her classical depiction and I think just flat out look better aesthetically speaking.

I really don't think you have to worry about that. I'm guessing they always call it differently to show how the games aren't set in the same world. Even if the words mean something different the concept doesn't seem to change greatly. Even though it's called 理 in IV, it has pretty much the same role as in previous games (only the depiction of it has changed, it's supposed to be "the good guy" in Final despite it being pretty ridiculous with the YHVH context of the game)

Have you never read a single thing about Egyptian myth? The whole pantheon is slavishly devoted to Order (Ma'at), and Isis in particular is married to Osiris (king of the underworld and former pharaoh) and mother of Horus (king of the pantheon).

I really liked this one. I liked the idea of disguising 6 of its heads as eyes of the the serpent/dragon so you don't mix it up with the Beast. I like how the wings are more angelic-looking aand can be interpreted as a callback to ideas that he originated as an angel and also that he's the result of fusion of angels in game. I like how the beastial aspect of the design kind of calls on serpent due to the really long tail and dragon by giving it one pair of legs. The final soul acting as a crown for the beast is also neat, and the dark skin makes you think of Lucifer in IV while also reminding me of fiends. The fiend touch I really appreciate because of how many major players in revelation come from that race. It's just pleasing to look at and full of nice little details. I love it and it bums me out that it was passed over for the design they ended up using, not that the final one is bad.

LD's been on sale for $20 before digitally.

It runs like utter shit. The skill trees are cool, almost EO level good, but the story is crap. The traitors are random, and you ALREADY know what that means in terms of the story if you think it through.

NG+ is required for the best ending and probably a second NG+ for the true last boss. It's fun for the first playthrough but gets really boring before you get to the second or third because attack chaining is the only meaningful strategy.

Also, the traitor mechanic is more or less irrelevant to the story. What it actually offers is skill tree combining. Anyone who gets whacked leaves their skills behind, which you can equip on another character, sometimes unlocking new ultra synergy powers or letting another character take on the skills of a previous character so by the end, everyone is a hybrid of some sort. It would be clever if the whole game still didn't revolve around just chaining six team attacks.

No, but you get a substantial boost of skill points based on what level you reached, so the early game rolls a bit more interesting and the first traitor's skill packs aren't a complete joke. Downside, you don't get increased mana for those skill points so you still gotta be careful.

Each level also has higher ranked extra challenges too in NG+.

The requirements for the true end are as follows: max every character's social link and beat the game. You can't max anyone's social link until about the fourth world so you need NG+ to do the first three traitors.

The requirement for true last boss is the above with the added requirement of having scored perfect on traitor executions. To do both on the second run requires substantial luck as you may have to leave a traitor alive to do their social link.

I finally picked the Chaos route in IV. Can somebody explain why Chaos is bad? It seems like a sensible option along with neutral.

That character is actually the biggest damage dealer in the game, really. The game explains it poorly, but Analysis just means he hits an enemy and tags it with an Analysis. He can keep doing that for more, and cash them in for super hits.

It's a COMPLETELY worthless mechanic because actions are at a premium in this game, and any enemy you want to tag and hit over multiple turns is just going to shred the poor guy in two hits, or will be dead quicker if you are doing team combos.

BUT, George's basic attacks, and some of the non-Analysis stuff on his skill tree hits INSANELY hard. He's a great character, up there with max Fire Himeko and full beat you down Mana but you'll only get that on NG+.

Mana is a tank. Her job is to run up, hit things, and survive the counter attacks. Usually you just run up and cast Barrage on things.

Himeko's tree is entirely full of massive damage fire synergy, or ailment inflicting ice synergy. I recommend picking one and sticking with it and only it.

Note that you get the extra skills on the right hand of the skill tree if you fill out one point in every skill of that color, and they are almost all worth it. Keep an eye on those. For most character's it is great to go for their red completion skill ASAP.

Because actions and movement and chaining are at such a premium, I think Ice Ailment Himeko is a weak play but I haven't run her.

Zenji is hurt by this too, starting a turn late for needing to copy someone else, but the idea of him at will just duplicating your best character still lets you do some kickass stuff.

I'm selling Marco short. That kid can do some insane damage, and I think on my last run when he went traitor I gave his stuff to Himeko and she was wasting shit with psy rather than fire.

Psh, you haven't had a chance to really do anything yet. It takes until floor 4 until you get enough skill points to actually have fun with the skill trees. For now, focus whatever you like. Passives are smart.

Mana is pretty tanky as is, really. I like working her tree up to barrage and then filling out the red completion skill. And she's still good damage so I want her punching things.

Because enemies team attack, it is so, so much more important that you kill whatever you're targeting that turn. Having two enemies alive turns one attack into four attacks and that's usually a dead team member.

Either way, the game's not hard. Don't fret it. You can always replay missions and get more XP or cash as needed.

Satan had an excuse for the genocide, but Aleph pretty much did nothing to stop it. It's odd that suddenly he's turning against YHVH afterwards. I'd really prefer a choice to just kill Satan right there. It'd be much more consistent with the route up to that point. I mean, Satan explains everything to the player. So, if they weren't willing to do that, they should have turned against Satan right there.

It makes no sense to go along with the genocide, and then afterwards turn against YHVH for ordering it.
