I know it's easy to say Torbjorn is fine cuz really good players can easily handle them, but this game isn't full of really good players.

Stack Torbjorns on D on maps like Hanamura, Temple of Anubis and others and your win % goes way up.

I don't mind the balance, but the ult might charge too quick. And the range on the turrets is pretty fucking ridiculous.

I'm not going to deny Zenyatta is fun and all, but that doesn't change the fact that his healing orb still gives less heals in a game than Mercy does. That and Mercy can increase people's damage which is highly exploitable with certain classes. Reviving people is also very important for defense because it says so much time having to walk back from spawn.

I'm not denying Zenyatta is fun, but I'm talking about general effectiveness. You can win with him, but for defense side Mercy is a bit better in terms of effectiveness.
