5) once gp, prepare for africa asap. once africa is under your glorious auspices, turn all those fresh troops against France or netherlands first, so you can rob their colonies while upping your navy research so you can face UK and US. (need dismantle empire from revolution and counter revolution)

There's a large chunk of goods, and some of them may get scarce for years. The main new ones are only there to satisfy pops though, IT and beverages being an example. Basic goods like clothes went scarce for a couple of years mid game, making it impossible for me to recruit infantry, but it's all good now. Also I'm on lazy fairy, so doing something the AI isn't used to (ie spam computers, eletric gear, fuel or electricity).
